Tuesday, 22 July every 4 hours as needed .3 mil sugarcubesandcottoncandy -
Saturday, 19 July she is 20 days old. she was born 3 weeks ahead of schedule. so i guess she waited till it was time for her to have made her entry into the world as was originally intended. Kinda like catching up.
you still having issues with your little one? This might sound strange to you, but I think prayers were of great help. try it. i am sure it will work for you as well.
Love and prayers. poizineyevee -
Friday, 18 July For 3 weeks now my left breast produced 1 to 2 oz max and my right produces 5 oz. Ive tried to get them the same but to no avail. I heard its normal to have one that produces more. Try pumping the one that isnt producing as much every 2 hours. I just dont have the patience for it so I just pump every 5 hours to total 5 oz. We are feeding her formula at night so I dont really need much more milk than 5oz every 5 hours. I hope this helped. selanet -
Thursday, 17 July I don't what to do to keep them calm but when I had my son circumsized my hospital said i could give him tylenol every 4 hours if he seemed too uncomfortable and they also told me with every diaper change to put ALOT of vasaliene on it. But surprisingly he wasn't too bad after the first 24 hours he seemed to not even notice it... I hope that helps... mrssection8 -
Thursday, 17 July My son was circumsized two days after he was born. The nurse told me he woould be kept until he was calmed down and then returned to me... LIAR! I stepped out of the shower to find his bassinet parked right in front of my door and him screaming horribly. I just held him close, apologized profusely for the amount of pain he was going through, and made sure to keep his diaper fresh and his newly cut willie well lubricated. gonzomom6 -
Thursday, 17 July I just got my twin boys done yesterday and know exactly how you feel... My doctor said to place a bunch of vaseline on his penis with every changing of his diaper.. this as helped so much and they don't cry as much now... BabyBennett -
Thursday, 17 July I'm pumping about 2oz total each time she eats and we are mixing her bottles with 50% breast milk and 50% formula (we started at 75/25) until she either eats more than I can produce or I start to dry up. I'll eventually reduce the breast milk amount, but I want her to have as much as I can produce for as long as I can keep pumping it out.
We are heating up her bottles by placing them in hot water until the temp. feels right. We were filling up the sink with hot water, but when we toured day care centers today, they kept a crock pot full of hot water and just dropped the bottles in as they needed them. It may be overkill, but we are thinking about doing it, as it would eliminate some time when Anna decides she wants her food NOW. :)
I hope some of this information is helpful to you! luvbeingamom -
Monday, 14 July Expressed milk is fine for you baby and doesn't take anything away from them. Though it is harder to increase supply and keep up with growth spurts. But if your supply is fine, feeding from a bottle is the same as from you, minus the closeness. littlecavalier -
Monday, 14 July I also read your comment on the breastfeeding forum and was coming on your page to give you the same advice luvbeingamom just gave you :-). Breast shields are amazing for sore nipples. Definitely try to use it as little as possible as you don't want your baby to get used to it but it is less confusing than a bottle in the beginning and will definitely help give your nipples a break. You're doing a wonderful thing for your baby and once you get past the first couple weeks and your nipples toughen up it will get so much easier! If you need any help or encouragement please feel free to comment on my page. I'm on at least a couple times a day. If you don't already have it, lanolin cream by lansinoh (purple tube) is wonderful and you don't have to wash it off before baby nurses, it is safe. Just apply it after each feeding and even in between if they start hurting. Make sure your nipple is dry also before putting it back into your bra as if it is wet it can cause chaffing. luvbeingamom -
Monday, 14 July I just read your comment on the bf forum and i wanted to say i had the same problem with the cracked and VERY painful nipples. I used a breast shield ( you can get them at target) and it worked wonders. It toughened my nipples so that i didn't and now don't have to use it but let my poor cracked nipples heal and feel better. It is just a small peice of plastic. It is often recommended when the baby won't latch or doesn't latch well but can really be a life savor for sore and cracked nipples. Good Luck, hope you stick with it, it is well worth it. M.M.Masi -
Monday, 14 July Go ahead and express your milk until your beast are comfortable. Then feed your baby. Also when you are done with each feeding rub your own breast milk on your nipple and let air dry. The fatty cream of your milk is the best ointment to prevent cracked nipples. Try to not bottle feed your baby your milk because he will get used to the bottle (it's easier then sucking at the nipple). If he gets tired and stops sucking just rub your fingers up and down his back that will wake him up again. stephg -
Monday, 14 July hey my baby is 4 days old and myh milk just came in so it is hard to get him to latch< i find if you squeez some milk out firts iit is eaiser.. Maybe your nipples are sore and crackec cause he isnt latched proberly?? monikaOH -
Sunday, 13 July I would express after warm shower, later try putting lanolin on nipples and feed baby before you are full. Also you may consider using nipple shield for couple weeks while breastfeeding so your nipple has a chance to heal. That's what I did. Megan the lump maker -

Saturday, 21 June Treating the Shoulder Well points gets the baby to descend into the pelvis (e.g.
to engage better) and put the necessary pressure on the cervix. This is an
essential factor in getting labor started, especially if you are having your first
baby. The descending effect of the Shoulder Well points is also very helpful
during the first and second stages of the labor. In addition to the descending
effect, the Shoulder Well points stimulate womb contractions.
Location:
The Shoulder Well points are on the thick roll of
muscle on top of both shoulders.
You will find the point midway between the outer
tip of your shoulder and the base of your neck.
The Shoulder Well points are tender in most
people, therefore start with medium pressure and
add more pressure later if necessary.
Treatment:
You can use your fingers, thumbs,
or knuckles to treat these points.
Locate the points on both
shoulders and apply firm downward
pressure on the mother’s Shoulder
Well acupoints while she is sitting
with relaxed shoulders.
Press firmly for a few seconds.
Release the pressure slowly and
then press again. Repeat eight to
twelve times. Remind the mother to breathe deeply and keep her shoulder
muscles relaxed all the time you are treating the Shoulder Well points. thisonesaboy -
Saturday, 21 June To treat the Shoulder Well acupoints, sit down
and relax your shoulder muscles. Support your
index finger by crossing the middle finger on top
of it.
Locate the point and press firmly for a few
seconds. Release the pressure slowly and then
press again. Repeat eight times on both
shoulders. Remember to breathe deeply all the
time you are treating the Shoulder Well points.
Another technique for treating the Shoulder Well
points is to grasp your left shoulder muscle with
your right thumb, index and middle finger.
Squeeze the Shoulder Well point gently while you
exhale, and release slowly while inhaling. Repeat
eight times on the Shoulder Well points on each
side. thisonesaboy -
Saturday, 21 June I have a stubborn cervix I staterd doing these points on wed and lost my plug friday morning. I can promise it will statr labor but it can not hurt. Saturday, 21 June Self-treatment:
Sit down and bend your right leg over your left, so
that you can reach your lower leg with your hand.
Locate the Three Yin Crossing point with your
right thumb and then use your thumb or knuckle
to apply pressure on the acupressure point.
Repeatedly press firmly and release, for 1 minute,
and then switch and treat the Three Yin Crossing
point on your left leg. thisonesaboy -
Saturday, 21 June The Three Yin Crossing point helps the cervix to dilate and labor to get started.
Mothers having their first baby and mothers whose cervix hasn’t dilated efficiently
in a previous labor should find this point especially useful.
Location:
The Three Yin Crossing point is on the inner side of
the lower leg, four of the mother’s finger-widths
above her inner anklebone. The acupressure point is
next to the back of the shinbone.
The Three Yin Crossing points are usually very sore,
so the tenderness of the points confirms that you are
working on the right spot.
Treatment:
Grip the mother’s lower legs when she
is sitting, or on her knees leaning
against a chair or bed.
Press the points with your thumbs firmly
for a few seconds. When you are
treating these points to induce labor
use only medium pressure.
Release the pressure slowly and then
press again. Repeat eight to twelve
times. Remind the mother to breathe
deeply during the treatment. Mindieswan -
Monday, 9 June Regarding the first baby being late. I don't think anyone really knows. It depends on the person. Some people have all their children a week early, some go late. He/She will come when they want.. :)
