April 15th

Well, we're between 12 half weeks pregnant and 13 and half weeks pregnant! The hospital scan has put me further ahead than I'm expecting to be... i personally think it's just a big Bambino, as my hubby was a 11lb'er when he was born! and tore his mothers insides out... oh, how I can't wait for all that stuff! :0)

We had a missed-misscarriage in November last year, so the ride to 12 weeks was a tough one. But we're here now and absolutely delighted. I'm due on the 19th October... can't wait!

I've found the first 12 weeks hard after the last mis carriage, and because I started bleeding in my 12th week! I felt pretty grim from start to finish! but looking forward to feeling better in the next trimester... and can finally start thinking about the future of this little bambino now....

11th May

Well we went for a private scan yesterday and it was wonderful, baby is measuring the correct size. 16w2d and was waving and jumping around. It was such a lovely experience, all is perfect. I've put my due date back to the 24th Oct, as I think my 12 week scan was wrong... so I shall do an extra week in week 16, but that's fine by me!

My headaches have continued and are getting worse.. I went to talk to my doctor about it and he's sending me to a Neurologist to get it checked out. It seems that I had viral menigitus 9 years ago, which left me with bad headaches ever since, and he thinks the pregnancy hormones may have stired this old viral damage up in my brain... so we'll see... fingers crossed it doesnt take too long on the NHS, cos i'm at my wits end with the pain and frequency.

Other than that, just so excited about bambino, and can't wait till he/she comes... :0)

27th May

Well, it seems that I may have turned the corner on my headaches.. i've been almost headache free for the last week or so.. so I guess it just took until week 18 to feel better.. what a relief. i can actually start to enjoy this pregnancy now. I think i can feel my baby moving around, which is exciting....

06 June

Well, I just had my 20 week scan and all is great.. baby still measuring bigger, so I have had to move my due date up to the 19th Oct, they are adament they are right! and my dates are wrong.. i still think it's just a big bubba.. otherwise it means I conceived on a 20 day cycle, which i have never in all my years had ..but hey ho.. baby will come when baby is ready! Very excited!

13 July

Well, 26 weeks today... unbelivably far along this journey... Really blown away with going into the third trimester... yikes yikes yikes. So have started to think about nursery and prams etc... Though what an unbelievably difficult decision.. there are literally billions out there. Think we are going to go for the Quinny Buzz, as we dog walk every day and live on a canal and accross the road from the beach... so 3 wheeler seems the way forward.. Can't wait until the builders leave, we currently living under an inch of dust again! but hopefully in a few weeks time.. we will be on our way to a beautiful nursery.

I'm generally feeling so much better than the first 4 months... though do get tired pretty easily. Bump is growing nicely and Archie or Annabella Long Legs is certainly into some funky dancing in there... I love feeling those kicks, elbows and yanks. No stretch marks, YET... so fingers crossed for the next few months.

23 July

All going wel, Bambino likes to kick me a lot these days, though most of the time he's quiet, so I have my fingers crossed that I have a sleeper in there! Long may it last. Generally feeling well these days, though sleeping has become hell on earth. I only sleep for the maximum of an hour and then wake up numb all the way down my side, wrestle with all my pillows and turn over to repeat the whole performance an hour later... can't imagine how much worse it is going to get in the next few months... I wake up with aches and pains in almost every part of my body.. Anyway little bub is growing well and my bump it getting higher and higher! :0)

30 July

28 week update... well i had both my neurology appointment and my 28 week check up.. they can't do anything about my migraines until after the baby is born, when they'll MRI scan me. And as for bubba...well he's a beast... he is measuring another week and half ahead according to my midwife... 30 weeks.. which makes him a total of two and half weeks ahead. She said he's very long... I suppose that justifies some of my 25 llb weight gain!!!!! I dont seem to have gained it anywhere except my bump...but we'll see once bubba is here! :0)

11 August

30 weeks.. had our first anti natel appt and went to see the labour ward at the weekend. Boy has all that really focused my mind, that we really are going to have a baby in the very near future! I feel huge, but I guess there is still a fair bit of growing to do in the next 10 weeks.. seems impossible on my 5ft frame.. but hey ho. Haven't gained any weight for the last few weeks, but bump seems to have doubled, so that's good... at least i think it is!

07 Sept

Oh my goodness, no one tells you how uncomfortable the 3rd trimester gets! I can barely walk, my baby is so low and each adn every foot step is agony. By the time I have waddled to the toilet and back to what I was doing, I need to go again! Not to mention the longest i have slept at any one time for about 6 weeks is 1 hr 10 min! I know that I am very short and I am carrying a particularly large baby....but boy oh boy.. I had no idea!!!! Roll on Weds for my midwife appt, I am dying to know how big they think the baby is now.. if I am measuring 37/38 weeks then I am going to ask for another scan, as I am getting scared.. my MIL had to have a hysterectomy after giving birth to my husband! Thankfully I am mostly baby bump and not too much weight gain anywhere else and miraculously still no stretch marks... for now!

10th Sept

Hmm... well I went for my 34 week check up and would you believe it but, baby has turned himself breech in the last few days, after having been head down since week 27. It was all a bit scary at the doctors, because he started talking about the procedure to move him and if that didnt work, c section.. Didn't help that the doctor said I was at risk of going into early labour, because I had pre-cancerous cells removed a few years ago too...

I have a scan on the 24th and hopefully baby will have turned himself back again to avoid all of this. I was in agony at the weekend and could barely walk more than a few yards from the pain, I wonder if it was too cramped down there for him and that's why he turned up? Hmm....

17th Sept - 35w3d

Well, bubba is still Breech and is measuring a whopping 38 weeks. His butt is 3/5 th's into my pelvis, so well and truely down there... I really dont think he is going to turn now...what does anyone else think? I'm very unsure about having the ECV done with such a big baby and because I am only 5ft tall.. again does anyone have any opinions. I think I am starting to prepare myself for a c section...

24th Sept 36w3d

Well had my scan today and baby is still breech and now in the footling position, which i believe is the most dangerous position for delivery naturally, not that I am intending too, anyway! So they have booked me a c section for the 8th october, 2 weeks from today!!! Baby is measuring 38/39 weeks already and weighs an amazing 6.9lbs...which at 36 weeks is a pretty darn big bubba, so there is a part of me that is glad I'm not delivering naturally! Doctor was as useless as always and wouldnt discuss any options of concerns.. but hey ho, that's all I ever expect from our stupid NHS these days. He talked about going for the turning option next week, but I feel very uncomfortable about it and because the baby is so big and already engaged in my pelvis.. I just dont want to go through it.

37 weeks 3 days

Bubba still breech, measuring 40 weeks... 4/5ths into my pelvis... explaining why I can't even walk these last few days! Hope he hangs on until my c section next weds!

38 weeks 2 days

Well, i had my pre op checks today.. adn it was weird, because for the last two weeks, the midwifes keep saying they weren't sure he was breech anymore because they couldnt find his head at the top. So, I've been pretty unsettled wondering what would happen... anyway, today they scanned to me to discover his head is half way down the side of my body (where no one was looking for it) and he is laying in a giant question mark shape with his feet pushing down on my pelvis. So he really is a very large baby... despite all the sonographers telling me that, it doesnt work that way...clearly it does! I still hvent gained much weight, except my enormous bump and unbelieveably no stretch marks!!! can I manage another 12 hours.... :0)

Shaymika1987 - Friday, 26 September
Wow you C-Section is the day after mine congrats

angel2008 - Thursday, 25 September
hi, i have also decided not to go for the turning, i hear it can make baby distressed, and you may also need a c section anyway, so if on thursday they ask if i wont a c section ill go for that. what way is your baby laying? i can feel my baby's head under my right rib's very uncomfortable. i was also told at my 24 week scan my baby was big, hopefully they will get her out soon lol my hip and pelvis feel like hell to walk on. xx

SaraChristine - Wednesday, 24 September

kelim - Monday, 22 September
hi hun, how r you, i find out next tue when im going to have baby, i cant wait, im nervous too eeeek x

itsallgood - Monday, 22 September
Yes if it is not one thing it is another. When considering the ecv procedure I also have to bear in mind that it could cause some bleeding (usually small) that could cross to bub and I am O- Rhesus Negative. So there is yet another issue. I suspect this child is going to be difficult and so am just gonna try to go with the flow! According to lmp it is due 21 Oct however all 3 ultrasounds have said that it is due 16 Oct so I am completely inthe land of the unknown. In fact the last ultrasound said that it was due 15 oct so is it just growing very fast? Who knows.
I am also getting kicks in the back of my uterus and cervix so I don't know if it has got feet in there or what?
One thing is certain and that is that those kicks in on the cervix etc are bloody painful!

itsallgood - Sunday, 21 September
Hi I haven't got that far yet. Doc appointment Monday week so I guess the doc is giving it til thento turn otherwise I guess the options are EVC or caesar birth.
I have been reading about vaginal breech birth however, they say you go by the mothers birth as an indicator. If we go by mine, I was overdue, induced and then wrenched out with forceps and still have the dent in my skull from it! So given those factors and the fact that there is the possibility of baby's head not fitting through the pelvis and a lot of doctors not knowing how to do breech births, may have to go with the caesar.
But babies are unpredictable little things so who knows!

kelim - Friday, 19 September
im not sure wot i measure, she didnt do it as she knew it was big any way, so i would imagine im measuring near the end?

kelim - Thursday, 18 September
no i wouldnt be able to deliver a 10lb'er, my doc sed they would brake or damage my pelvis, it depends how wide your hips r, from the inside not out, tht why i had a section with emily, and now with this one!!

kelim - Thursday, 18 September
i have been told off the midwife that baby is already going on 8 lbs! so i will be having a section!

kelim - Wednesday, 17 September
i hope baby turns round for you hun x

jules94 - Wednesday, 17 September
Hey hun, just saw your post about the baby being breech. Wouldn't worry too much about position yet. He still has about a month to turn... that's plenty of time! My boy was oblique until I think about the 37th week. I've been paranoid he's gonna move back... but so far so good! lol Good luck!

minkymoo78 - Wednesday, 17 September
My appointment is the 24th September. Next Wednesday. I'll be on CD25 by then - shame I can't find out if I'm pregggers or not before I go so I can DEMAND progesterone. We BDed 8 out of 9 days so there is no way we missed any opportunities. Let's just hope it worked. I'm 3DPO but haven't got any symptoms. I'm trying to ignore them so maybe I have some and I'm not letting myself believe it. Too early to tell yet anyway but I am so much more calm this time around because of the disappointment last time. How are you feeling? xx

Shaymika1987 - Wednesday, 17 September
Yes you still have plenty of time for him to turn who knows he might wait until the last minute to turn if not then the Dr's may give him a little help.

cahlika - Wednesday, 17 September
They thought it might have been that she turned, had a growth spurt and got stuck or that her cord was short and that was the only comfortable position once she grew past a certain point but seeing she turned I think she must have just wanted a change of scenery! LOL

It was pretty uncomfrotable when she turned but only because she spent alot of the day transverse then finally flipped right round...

I hope your bub turns, I really do :)

kargy - Tuesday, 16 September
I am 37 weeks 4 days and my baby is still breech. The Dr. doesn't think that he will turn on his own. We were given the option to have the external version, but we chose not to because of the risks. I am 5'4" and baby was weighing 5 lbs 11 oz at 36 weeks (baby and I are average size).. he just seems comfy where he's at. I have a scheduled c-section for 9/30. My Dr won't do a c-section until week 39. Good luck!

mama-bear-thompson - Tuesday, 16 September
hey! okay so i am quite short 5 foot, and i have a short torso as well, i am measuring @ 37 weeks even though im only 35 weeks technically. Its all in how the baby is sitting and if you're carrying high. My baby has turned, and the U/S i had today confirmed it. I wouldnt worry to much about the baby not turning because, i heard with your first usually you'll go over your due date and the baby turns late in pregnancy?

preggiebelly - Tuesday, 16 September
Oh my goodness..... to hear you say that you're washing the clothes~ seems so amazing. Lucky you.
I miss my first little one so much. I would be right there with you right now, due at the end of October. I still get the e-mails now and then that tell me how far along I would be. It's a little discouraging but I'm so thankful to be pregnant again with a healthy little one. And timing for this little girl or guy couldn't be more perfect.
I just can't wait to see what you're having! How exciting! And lets hope that he or she will turn around for you. Can you have an external version? This is a procedure where they try and manually turn the baby from the outside.... they're effective some of the time but sometimes not.
We're moving into our new place one week from tomorrow & I'm thrilled to have the nursery. Even though we aren't getting started on it right away- it will be nice to at least go in and walk around sometimes.
Our baby furniture comes next Wednesday as well so we'll be putting it all in there as soon as Zach comes home from a trip that he's taking. I'll be concentrating a lot on getting it done towards the end of November (I'll be 27-28 weeks at that time). I figure that's a good time to be trudging around trying to get things done.... don't want to wait until that 3rd tri-mester. I imagine that I'll be crazy by then as I'm already starting to get uncomfortable & I don't sleep well at night.
You're right about the weight.... every bit of the extra pudge is worth it. I'm not going to stress about it all and with breastfeeding- it will come off quicker. I've also already booked a personal trainer to work out with after the baby is born so hopefully he can help me to be confident and feel sexy again.
I'm enjoying the bump right now.... I really do love it. It's nice not having the same old flat body.
So glad that you're doing well.... I'm anxious to see how things go at that 37 week appointment. Can't believe that you have just a little over a month left.
I know... it must seem like a lifetime for you- but it will go faster than you think I hope.
Take care bunches & keep in touch! ~ Jamie

bumpage - Tuesday, 16 September
Hi there my friend noobailey who is about your height had the same problem. Baby was breech at just over weeks she had an appointment for a check up to see if still breech if so was going to have to have a c section. Anyway her waters broke the night before the check up & when it came to the labour baby had turned-probably as she was desending. She is also only around the 5ft mark. She's on my friends list if yu wanted to contact her. Good luck

redmum - Tuesday, 16 September
for sure your baby has lots of time to turn so don't lose hope! think positively and visualize it as much as you can. doc's or midwives can try to manually turn him/her as well. Even hypnosis has been shown to be quite effective for many people in studies. gah why do the lil bebe muffins give us so much to worry about before they've even arrived! good luck!
