My husband and I found out we were pregnant the first part of September. We are so excited to be parents! This has been an unexpected blessing for me especially. I was married once before and was told by my doctor during that time that he did not know why I wasn't getting pregnant. After many tests later I was told that I may not be able to have children. Now I'm in my second marriage and I'm loved so much by my wonderful hubby! It took us no time at all after stopping birth control to get pregnant! I think it's because I'm no longer stressed and I'm with a wonderful man! We can't wait to meet our little boy!

O.k so I made the mistake of watching `babies: special delivery ` last night and there was a mom that went into labor and went to the hospital expecting to have a baby (she was between 37 and 38 wks)and when they put her on the monitor she was having contractions but her baby wasn `t alive. It had died sometime in the last few days. They don `t know what happened. This put a whole bunch of fears in my head! I can `t stop thinking about it! Does anyone know what the statistics are for this happening? I am sooo scared now please help!

I love being a mom. I worry all the time about my little guy getting enough milk. He seems fine, but I still worry. I guess that comes with being a mom. :) I thought the nights would be horrible and totally sleepless, but thats really not the case with my little one. Noah sleeps all night except to wake for feedings. I'm still a little tired, but its not horrible. Yay!

Thats weird that you said that cause I was thinking of doing the same thing, giving my baby a bottle or two of formula a day, we''ll see...Thanks for the advice

you know i have never looked , but my baby poops so much i feel like im changing diapers every 5 minutes!! lol, but breastfed babies go a LOT, im sure its normal. :)

every time my lil one passes gas i have to change her diaper its kinda nice because at least then i know she needs to be changed.

Baby's bellies are teeny tiny and they feel best when they eat smaller amounts more often. Sounds like your baby knows exactly what to do! I'd avoid formula for now because it sounds as if everything is going well.

csewell0301 - Thursday, 24 April
i went and saw a lactation consultant and she said to try to keep the baby awake as long as possible and to do 20 m in on one side and if the baby is still hungry switch over to the other side. my lil one is the same way some times she will go a couple hours other its every hour

your little one sounds prefectly normal. my baby does the same thing, eating every hour during the day, he is just trying to build up your milk supply! dont give him formula unless you want your supply to decrease. if he is having ebough dirty diapers everyday he is getting plenty. just keep nursing so you can keep up your milk for him! good luck!

i think it depends on your insurance i have blue cross and all my care is 100% covered. if your dr orders it tho it should be covered. i would ask your dr.

if you get really worried ask to have a non stress test, its in the office. my bb dosent move much(36 weeks now) and i get them. its reassuring and takes about 20 min :)

mrsgrnbutterfly - Sunday, 6 April
I know exactly what you mean about the movement thing. I don't feel mine move as much anymore either. You just have to think that they are so stuffed in there, that they really can't move or kick around like they used to. I can usually feel a foot or knee or something, and when I get worried I start poking at it to make sure that he moves. Usually he'll respond :) Don't worry though, it is very normal to have minimal movement at this point.

NurseDawn - Wednesday, 2 April
It's been over eight years since my last c-section so it's a little hard to remember exactly, but it seems like I was in the hospital for 3 or 4 days afterward. It's miserable staying there so long. They have to keep coming in and waking you up to take your vitals and check your IV, etc. Like I said, they kept me because I hadn't had a bm. They have to make sure that everything is working properly before they can release you. This time around, if I haven't had one by day 2, I plan on asking them for something to help me go.

NurseDawn - Wednesday, 2 April
You asked about a c-section. My first was a c-section. Frankly, I was very relieved that I didn't have to go through labor. I don't want to cause you any anxiety, but to me, the worst part was getting the spinal block. They had to poke me about 20 times before they got it right. I wonder now if the guy who was doing it was new or something. This time, I definitely plan on making sure that whoever does the spinal is not new and has had plenty of practice. The only other problem was getting bronchitis afterward. It sucks to cough so hard and so much after major abdominal surgery. So while you're laying in the bed, make sure you do plenty of deep breathing and coughing at least every hour. And use the incentive spirometer they give you to help increase lung expansion. (I am also a nurse.) It will be difficult, but move around as much as possible as early as possible. The moving, deep breathing, coughing, and spirometer should help prevent bronchitis. Again, I don't want to scare you by telling you all of this. I just wish someone had stressed it to me at the time. It would have made recovery a lot better for me. Oh, and they wouldn't let me leave the hospital until I told them I'd had a bowel movement. I was tired of staying there so I lied to them and told them I did. Don't do that! If you have trouble, let them know and they'll give you meds to help you. It's miserable not being able to go for so long! And you really don't want to strain after a c-section. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. Good luck!
