My husband and I found out we were pregnant the first part of September. We are so excited to be parents! This has been an unexpected blessing for me especially. I was married once before and was told by my doctor during that time that he did not know why I wasn't getting pregnant. After many tests later I was told that I may not be able to have children. Now I'm in my second marriage and I'm loved so much by my wonderful hubby! It took us no time at all after stopping birth control to get pregnant! I think it's because I'm no longer stressed and I'm with a wonderful man! We can't wait to meet our little boy!

O.k so I made the mistake of watching `babies: special delivery ` last night and there was a mom that went into labor and went to the hospital expecting to have a baby (she was between 37 and 38 wks)and when they put her on the monitor she was having contractions but her baby wasn `t alive. It had died sometime in the last few days. They don `t know what happened. This put a whole bunch of fears in my head! I can `t stop thinking about it! Does anyone know what the statistics are for this happening? I am sooo scared now please help!

Wed, 23 April

I love being a mom. I worry all the time about my little guy getting enough milk. He seems fine, but I still worry. I guess that comes with being a mom. :) I thought the nights would be horrible and totally sleepless, but thats really not the case with my little one. Noah sleeps all night except to wake for feedings. I'm still a little tired, but its not horrible. Yay!

Tues, 20 May

I feel like I'm so busy with Noah that I never have time to get on here anymore! He is 6 1/2 weeks old and is adorable! We had him on a great schedule for sleep but he seems to have broken the schedule and he is up at weird times. Hopefully he will get back on track. He also isn't smiling yet and that concerns me, but hopefully he will soon!

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

hey I saw your post about how much solids should you give your baby??? Well I give Rylee cereal in the early afternoon then veggies in the late afternoon, along with her milk. She still drinks just as much as she did before the solids. Every few days I give her a third helping of cereal or veggies before her bath, then it's off to bed by 8pm at the latest.

I guess I kinda figured it out through writing back to you about it. He knows he will not be home the majority of the day so he is just unhappy. At home he gets to nurse whenever he wants to, who doesn't like to be at home? When we're out he is wearing real clothes instead of sleepers and often gets a bottle instead of nursing. Poor kid.

Thanks for your advice! Sounds like some good ideas to me. We always have the three favorite toys too! The hardest part is getting him into the seat. He does fairly well once were driving down the road. Like while we're out somewhere I get him out to change him it is HELL getting him back into the seat. He arches his back and refuses to drop his bottom into the seat so I can buckle him in. Very strong little boy. LOL
I would love to go out daily but we live 20 miles from town and it is just too costly to go so frequently. Then when I do go out I try to do all my errands in one day. Like we'll do the doctor then visit my girlfriend then shopping for groceries all in one day. Maybe that's why he hates his carseat. Once he goes in there ... he knows Mommy will be making a day of it!
More short frequent trips could be well worth the gas money! Thanks ;)

Oh! and going to the mall sounds great! I have extra weight that I haven't been able to get off since the baby was born so walking would do me good! I would also love to go to the museum, like I said, I am not sure how to get around here or whats around here because im so new here, but I'm sure you could help me out with that! Where did you live before you moved to northglenn area?

It's a really long article but very very informative.

My doc was adamant about no meats until 7 months of age. Their kidneys are not mature enough to process the protein. Now, that being said, why do they make stage 1 meats? I don't get that at all. We are sticking with fruits and veggies exclusively for a couple more months. My understanding is that any of the baby "dinners" are simply loaded with sodium and sugars. I will send you an article I found about babyfood tomorrow from work. It's super informative and pretty scary.

You can do stage 2 foods now. Just be careful with certain foods that have berries (I guess allergies are common with berries), avoid anything with orange or citrus fruit for that matter( I have read no citrus fruit until after age 1), and I believe I read meat shouldnt be given until their kidneys can digest protein, which I believe is 7 to 8 months. Blake does stage 2 now, I just give him what they had in the stage one and mixed fruits and veggies.

Our ped told us to start stage 2 foods at 5 months....The only difference I can tell is the size. Maybe they are a LITTLE thicker but I can't really tell.

but the left side on the back of head is going lopsided because of it and it worries me that it will stay that way

sgtoodles - Tuesday, 26 August
We started giving my son the "orange" veggies-squash, carrots and sweet potatoes at 4 months old. Then we moved on to peaches, pears and bananas (all from the Stage 1 Foods). He is now 5/1/2 months and we just alternate from those foods. We go back to the pediatrician this Friday so will ask about when to switch to the Stage 2 foods. He just eats 1 jar of the food each night for "dinner" along with a small bottle of breastmilk. (The rest of the day he gets only breastmilk). Our dr. said that breastmilk is all he needs so just to give minimal baby food. (he said give baby food if baby doesn't seem satisfied after milk). He is a big boy- about 20 pounds, so giving him a little baby food helps get his tummy full, longer.

Hi,
If I could ask you to pass on the tips you got on unswaddled, I'd be thankful. We did cold turkey too but are still not quite where we were before with her sleeps. She now only wakes up twice so sleeps 8-10 hours with two wake-ups, during which I feed her.
Thanks so much!

Jo-Mama - Monday, 11 August
Is there a reason to stop swaddling? Is it bad to still swaddle? I had planned to stop swaddling when my daughter could roll over, but she can't do that from back to front yet, so I'm still swaddling. She busts her arms out, but her legs are still swaddled in the morning. I have never swaddled her for naps, so I know she can sleep unswaddled. But she sleeps longer when she's wrapped up. Is this bad?

My son's poop turned orange, too after I started feeding him squash. Then it has been orange with sweet potatoes and carrots. I think it will be the color of whatever they eat.
