June 30,08Kara did so good today....passed her NST and her biophysical profile looked great too!! I don't have to go back for a week!!! Then I will ask about getting induced a little early due to the hour drive to the hospital....and when I had our last one I had her in 3 hours and didn't even realize I was having "real" contractions...I thought they were the braxton hicks I had been having all along. So, we don't want any babies on the side of the road. On the ultrasound we could see all of her hair.June 24, 08Biophysical profile....baby passed that but still failed the NST. Kara weighed in at 4lb 15oz. So, just barely above the 10th percentile. Dr says he doesn't get concerned until BELOW the 10thpercentile...whatever. Other than being small and failing her NST's, she looks great. I could see on the ultrasound she had a very full bladder and was doing her practice breathing which is all a sign of good blood flow. So we are waiting and seeing...whatever that means...so Thursday another NST and Monday another biophysical profile...June 20, 08Went to hospital for another NST today...baby did ok...not really passing, but not failing. Doctor said some babies just don't react like most. I was having contractions every 3-7 minutes...some I could feel and some I could not. The nurse checked my cervix and said I am 1.5 dialated...more than the fingertip I was last week. Have to go to Doctor on Monday for another biophysical profile....just waiting and seeing........... June 19, 08Baby failed 2 Nst's today...so we did a Biophysical Profile, which looks at fluid level, amount of movement with the baby, babies' practice breathing and muscle tone. The first time we started it, she wasn't doing much, so we left and came back 2 hours later and she finally passed. I have to go to the hospital tomorrow evening for another Nst, and see what she is going to do. It made for a VERY long day today and hopefully I can talk to my doctor and see what his plan is. I don't want to keep going for the NST's, if she is going to keep failing them....Hopefully some answers tomorrow.

Ob appointment..35weeks....had a non-stress test this morning that baby failed. I was on the monitor for almost an hour. Dr had me come back in the afternoon to do another one. She passed the one in the afternoon. She gave me a little scare, though this morning. I am now scheduled to go back for another on Thursday. I hope she keeps doing well.....

Ob appointment today...34weeks 1 day..Baby weighed in at 4lb 8oz. Still small, but not as small. 20th percentile. She looked so cute, I could see her moving her mouth around and licking her lips....It was sweet. Dr. doubled the procardia (contraction meds). I will only have to stay on them for 2 more weeks. Checked my cervix, said I am fingertip dialated, so nothing really. Had to have a non-stress test. She passed finally after almost 45 minutes. I had to go to the hospital for the steroid shot to help mature her lungs. That didn't feel too good, I have to go back tomorrow to get the last dose. Her heart rate was between 140 and 160, it was all over the place. I now go twice a week for the NST's and for appointments. I am feeling ok overall.

Had OB checkup yesterday...heartrate was 152. I have only gained 4lbs in the last 4 weeks...I am glad for me, but if I am gaining only a pound a week right now, I wonder how much the baby is growing....hopefully a lot..I am still having lots of contractions, so I am still trying to drink lots and rest more...It is not really possible to rest all the time. The older 2 girls leave on the 7th of June to go to Michigan for a visit for a month. I will use that time to "get things ready" for baby Kara. I will miss them a lot, but am sort of looking forward to a little break. Having only one child for a month will be strange. My next ultrasound is June 11th...we should know then how big baby is and if we are going to induce and how early.

Eat my ass lol...same thing...failed the NST, passed the bio profile, baby seems to be doing well so we're inducing Wednesday morning...I'm scared but want this to be over. Tobey always fails the NSTs, which leads to the bio profiles. Have you picked out a name for your daughter yet?

Thank you, I was a little nervous b/c before when it got up to that point the dr. seemed cautious. It has been a lot lower than that most of the pregnancy. When I woke up....hadn't done anything yet it was 116/78. Like I said, it is normally much lower than that. Thank you for your response...it makes me feel better.

I have a list...smoked hot links (is that the same as smoky links?) polish sausages, taffy apples, Garrett's and Okedoke popcorn, Gyros, hoagies, Italian beef, KFC and Popeye's Chicken and last but not least...PIZZA! We have Pizza Hut, Dominoes, and Little Ceasars's here...but I'm used to good Chicago pizza!

Nope, at this point (as of a week ago actually) the midwife told me that they will not stop labor if it starts. Since I am now 37 weeks, she is officially full term so if it happens, we shouldn't have any issues. Both of our families are desperately hoping for a 4th of July baby, but I'm just hoping for a first week of July baby! My due date is 7/12 and I really don't want to go that long, but the travel system that we really want is off the market for another week or two (Chicco brand) and if I go before they come back out then we'll have to get something else. So, between that and the fact that we have no July birthdays on either side of the family, I'm hoping to make it that far. I just REALLY don't want to go beyond my due date as I am supposed to return to work right after Labor Day. The earlier in July she comes, the more time off I get. :)

I have one in the basement - I'll have to get it out and see if it helps. I should be doing some more stretching than I am (the doctor tonight highly recommended yoga for my situation), but I've avoided most forms of exercise as every time I do anything (like walk for more than 10 minutes) the contractions seem to get more intense!

Could you humor me with a full explanation of a biophysical profile? :) It doesn't sound like fun either way with the NST's. I was in L&D tonight also with severe sciatic nerve pain and my contractions were every 2 - 5 mins. Most of them I didn't feel, so it really makes me wonder how big the "big ones" are that I can really notice during the day! They ended up putting me on vicodon as needed because the sciatic pain is so intense. I put the full story on week 37 if you're interested. I hope things go well with your next tests and over the weekend for you! Keep me posted. :)

I am glad to hear that everything is going ok for you. I am sitting here amazed right now. I took my pump off Monday night, and here it is Wednesday afternoon and absolutely nothing!
I am having minor contractions, but nothing strong or regular. I have been in preterm labor since 29 weeks, in and out of the hospital so that they could stop labor, and now that it is safe for him to come and I am ready to have him, he doesn't want to come. I was hoping to have a baby by this Sunday, but right now it does not look to promising. The only good signs are that my lower back is KILLING me and when I am up walking around my pubic bone hurts so bad, so maybe this means something. I had an ultrasound this past Friday and he weighed 6lbs 11oz. If i hang in there until my due date, about another 3 1/2 weeks, I will have almost a 9lb. baby! My goodness! However, my first daughter weighed 8lbs 11oz.

Really good right now. I have a checkup tomorrow, so hopefully I'll find out if anything is happening. :) I'm still having contractions and cramping, but nothing that makes me think I need to run to L&D yet. Are they just letting you go and see what happens or are they planning to induce at all? It seems like so many of the girls doctors on here are inducing super early... Around here they don't induce unless the baby is in dire need to come out or you have gone a week or two past your date. I'm so anxious to meet my baby, and so scared to be a parent!!
