My name is Candice and my husband is Vin (as of 6/20/08). We live just outside of Boston with my/our 9 year-old son, Trevor. We got pregnant on our first try last October, which was surprising to us both, but resulted in a miscarriage in December. I had a D&C on December 27th. We waited one cycle to start trying again and we finally got our BFP on August 19, the day before our 2 month wedding anniversary. We are very happy and scared, but mostly happy right now. I hope this one sticks for us!

I have been in school setting up my class all week, 7-3. We go back on T and W for professional development. Kids come back on Thursday. I am ready though. I pretty muh did nothing all summer so I need some routine in my lif now.

Thanks Candice, I am almost 34. We just want it so bad. It's hard not to have ANY CONTROL! I hope it happens soon. This cycle of being let down, waiting through AF, BDing, being hopeful and then getting let down is really hard.

I teach 4th grade. I always wanted to teach 1st or 2nd but was "forced" into taking a 4th grade position. So happy I did. 4th graders are still kids but a little bit more self-sufficent. You can joke with them but also still comfort them. The 1st graders now seem so needy. Can't deal with blowing noses and tieing shoes.

I just went today for my u/s. I only saw the sac, no baby yet. I am going back next Tuesday to hopefully hear the heartbeat. They want to monitor me b/c of the recent m/c. Now they'll have some information to compare to. How about you?

I agree. Trevor will probably start to pick up on any changes in you. Kids seem to be really perceptive that way. Hope he has a great week at school this week as a fourth-grader! Give him a virtual high-five for me. I am jealous you got a new mattress. We have a great mattress, but it is starting to get two big dips where Auggie and I sleep. There's like a huge barrier of mattress between us now. LOL. We can't turn it over because it is not the same on one the other side (it's flat on the bottom), so I am not sure what to do about it. A new mattress might be in our future, too. Oh, by the way, my friend who is TTC changed her mind about borrowing my fertility monitor. She called me yesterday in tears because her period started. We all know what that's like. Anyway, I am going to send her my fertility monitor, but can you tell me how to reset it for her? I know you had to reset the one you borrowed so can you tell me how to do that? I appreciate it, and I am sure my friend will, too. Other than that, nothing much new, just working and waiting for the 20 week anatomy scan next month. No, that scan will not be 3D/4D because I don't think they have that at my OB's office. However, we are planning on getting one of those done later on, like during week 28. We have to go to a special facility that does only 3D/4D scans and I have to bring authorization from my OB. It will be an extra $200 since its not covered by insurance, but we want to do it anyway. In those scans you can see the actual facial features of the baby, which is really cool. So, I am thinking around week 28 for that. All is well. I want to buy things so badly, but am trying to wait for at least another month until after the next scan.

I have not had many symptoms...my bb's are slightly tender and I get really tired around 9pm but I am up at 5:30am. Which is not normal for me! Oh...and bloated. Holy cow I look 5 months pg! Thank God I have no nausea. My friend is 4 weeks ahead of me and is totally sick!
So where in Mass do you live?

I'm not sure if it'll be too early to detect a heartbeat tomorrow but we'll see. If so, I'll just make another appt for 2 weeks and go back then. I just want to know that everything's ok. lol i pee a lot that was the first thing i realized;; im wonderin how bad the whole peeing thing gets later. im so scared about that bc its bad now i can imagine later when i have a baby pressing down on it. then my headaches were like 4days straight. and tired just recently started hitting me. especially when i go outside.
