My name is Lucy...Me and my husband Justin, just recentley experienced a stillborn. I was 37 weeks pregnant with the due date of April 23rd. I went in for my weekly checkup, when the doctor could not find her heartbeat. We had our beautiful baby girl, Carlee Elizabeth, at 11:55 p.m. on April 4, 2008. The reason this happened is because the cord was around her neck a couple times very tightly. She was absolutely perfect and I hate living without her. We are not sure why this happened to us, but it has been the hardest thing we have had to deal with in our lives so far. I can not explain to anyone how it feels, and I hurt for anyone that has to deal with this too. I would like to give some advice to everyone that is lucky enough to be pregnant...do not take it for granted. Love every minute of it. Talk to your baby. Feel them move, let other people feel them move. Just LOVE it!
Me and Justin are now trying to conceive again. I'm sure some people are not going to agree with us trying...but they probably haven't experienced what we went thru either. No one knows how we feel, and we feel that we are ready. We want to be parents so bad. We know that it won't take away from the hurt of losing Carlee, and we know it will be hard...but we are ready.
If anyone would like to talk, please feel free.

~Well I woke up this morning around 5am, and I didn't feel very good. Soo...I decided I would take a pregnancy test. And to my surprise...I AM PREGNANT!! I went in the bedroom and woke Justin up to tell him! He thought I was crazy for taking the test so early in the morning. Haha, I just had to know!! We couldn't believe it happened so fast. Of course, we're a little nervous...but we are so happy. We were going to wait to tell everyone until my first doctor's appointment, but we decided we couldn't do it. So far, everyone seems very excited for us! I made my appointment for August 22nd at 1130am! We will definitely being praying that everything looks good and that we're off to a good start.

Well I went in for my first OB appointment today, and everything went really well. We could see our precious little baby and a strong heartbeat. I'm so excited. I was off on the due date by 1 week...so I'm back in week 7. The new due date is April 9th, but my doctor said she won't let me go past 39 weeks anyway. I love my doctor. She is having me come back in again in 2 weeks, just to help me stay calm during this pregnancy. Starting at 24 weeks I will be going 2 times a week for stress tests. Which is awesome I think. I get to have an ultrasound at 18 weeks to determine the sex and make sure everything look ok, and then I will have one every 3 weeks after that. Very relieved that we are off to a great start! :)

My doctor's office called and told me that my blood work came back normal. Thank goodness!! :) I have been extremely sick to my stomach the last few days, I never had this with Carlee. Possibly a boy? We'll see in about 10 weeks!

Well I just got back from my doctor's appointment. I got to see our little one on an ultrasound again. It's crazy how much they change within two weeks. I could actually see its arms and legs moving around on this one. It was awesome. And the heart was beating away. Thank goodness! I go back in 2 more weeks, and she said that I should be able to hear the heartbeat then. I can not wait!!
Carlee would have been 5 months old yesterday...and it was a pretty hard day for me and my husband. I decided I would put pictures up of her on my page, and I'm sorry if some people don't want to see it. But she is absolutely beautiful in our eyes, and I love to show her off. She deserves for people to know about her. Her face is a little discolored because the cord was around her neck. But she was gorgeous and had the prettiest lips I have ever seen. We miss her so much, but we know she is watching over us...and her brother/sister that is growing inside me!
I love being pregnant! :)

Well I just got back to work from my doctor's appointment. It went really well...thank goodness. We got to hear the heartbeat...it was 159. And we also got to see the little one on an ultrasound again. It was awesome...it was moving around like crazy. And it has changed so much in 2 weeks. It's unreal. And the baby measured 11 weeks and 6 days...so a couple days bigger than we thought. My doctor got onto me because I haven't gained any weight. She told me that I need to start eating something small every 2 hours. I will be going back to see her on October 2nd. Can't wait to hear the heartbeat again!

Yesterday I had 2 doctor's appointments...I met with my regular doctor and we got to hear the heartbeat again! It was 156 and the baby was moving around like crazy. Then we met with the high risk doctor, and they did an ultrasound to check for down syndrome and then I had some blood taken. I got to see my little one moving around...it was very active yesterday. The doctor said that all the measurements looked good and the amount of fluid behind the neck was in the normal range. He said that from what he could tell, the baby looked perfect. It measured 14 weeks yesterday, and from what they could tell...It's another girl!! I go back for another ultrasound in a month, and we will double check that and they will do a lot more measurements. But so far...we're off to a great start! And we have no idea on girl names, we just knew this one was a boy!

I just got back from my 15 week checkup. Everything looked great...heartbeat was 152. And I've gained about 1.5 pounds. My doctor was very happy about that. I also asked her how accurate the gender is that early on, and she said to not get my heart set on a girl until I have my next ultrasound on November 6th. She said that seemed kinda early to guess what it would be. The blood work came back normal from my first appointment with the high risk doctor, and I go back on Thursday for more bloodwork. So far everything seems to be going great. And I think I might have felt a little flutter last night!

I had MORE blood taken this morning, let's hope I don't bruise this time! After I had my blood taken at the high risk, I went to my normal OB doctor and everything looked great. My uterus is exactly where it should be at this point, and the heartbeat was 150. She said that the baby was moving around like crazy, sucks I can't feel that yet! She told me within the next few weeks, I should definitely start feeling movement. I can not wait for that! It's my favorite part. The big ultrasound is scheduled for November 6th, early in the morning. 2 WEEKS FROM TODAY and we'll know for sure if it is a little boy or girl. :)

Yesterday we found out it's another little GIRL! We couldn't be happier. The doctor said that everything looked great on the ultrasound, and that we would have a beautiful girl coming our way in a few months. That was good to hear. Heartrate was 150 and she was weighing in at 9ounces. Suggestions on names would be great!!

Well I had our 21 week checkup today. Everything still looks good. She will start measuring my belly at my next appointment. The heartbeat was 154 this time. It feels so nice to hear that heart beating away. I have been feeling her kick like crazy lately, and I LOVE IT!! We have decided to name her Lexie Ann. Ann is my mother n law's and sister's middle name. So we thought that would be pretty cool. I go back on December 5th for another ultrasound, can't wait to see Miss Lexie again!!

Today was our 23 week checkup. I had an ultrasound this morning, and she has grown so much. She is weighing in at 1 lb and 6 ounces. Much bigger than last time! They said that she looks great other than she has an irregular heartbeat right now. My appointment was with the high risk doctor and he told me that was nothing to worry about. He said it is actually pretty common and should go away by the time she gets here. All of the structures and everything are perfect, just an irregular beat. I just hope and pray everything goes ok. I'm so scared of losing another little one. I love her so much already, and we can't wait for little Lexie to be here!

Today was my 25 week checkup. The heartbeat is still irregular, but they are still telling me not to worry about it. They said she should grow out of it before she is born...so I'm praying that she does. I am now measuring a week and a half ahead, so she had a big growth spurt since my last checkup. I have gained a total of 12 pounds so far...not too bad. I also had the GD test this morning, so we will find out next week sometime if I passed or not. I sure hope I did because I do not want to have to do the 3 hour test this time. I go back on January 6th for an ultrasound and another checkup. Can't wait to see her again!

Well I just got back from my 27 week ultrasound. The heartbeat is normal again, so that's the great news. We got some awesome pictures of her too. She has very chubby little cheeks. She is measuring 28 weeks and 5 days by the ultrasound. Weighing in at 2 pounds and 12 ounces. The doctor thinks she is going to be a big baby...but that's ok with me, as long as she is healthy. My uterus measured 29.5 weeks. Oh and I've gained 5 more pounds! And I passed the GD test! I'm so happy I don't have to do the nasty 3 hour test!! Can't wait to see/hear Miss Lexie again!!

I had my 29 week check up today. Everything went really well. The heartbeat was 142 and I am measuring 31 weeks. Gained 1 pound in 2 weeks, not too bad. My doctor wants me to start my non stress tests this week...so I'm scheduled for my first one on Thursday. I will only go once this week, and then I will go 2 times a week starting next week. I will also have another ultrasound in 2 weeks, can't wait!! It also looks like I will be having a baby shower on either Feb 15th or March 8th. :)

February 3, 2009
Well I had my 31 week ultrasound and checkup today. Everything looked great! She is measuring a couple weeks ahead still...weighing in at 4 pounds and 8 ounces! She looked absolutely perfect though and I can not wait to meet her. We could see her practicing her breathing, which was pretty neat. My doctor says that if she continues to grow like she is, we could possibly be looking at a c-section. She doesn't know if I will be able to handle having that big of a baby vaginally. We'll have to wait and see at my next ultrasound how she's measuring before they decide anything. The baby shower is going to be on March 8th...and then I'm having one at work on February 18th!

February 23, 2009
Well I haven't updated in a while. I've had my 33 week appointment and everything looked great. My uterus is measuring 2 weeks ahead. I've also been going 2 times a week for Nonstress tests. Everything with Lexie has looked great with those. I've been having contractions almost every time I go in, so they give me the shot...and then they stop. So I get to go home. I've had the shot 4 times now. I hate the way it makes me feel. Today is my last nonstress test where they will be able to give me the shot if they need to. My doctor told me that once I am at 34 weeks, they won't try and stop my labor. So that's pretty exciting!! I have another ultrasound on March 3rd, and then the baby shower in March 8th. Let's hope we make it that long!!

I had my 35 week checkup and ultrasound this morning. She looks great. She is weighing about 6 pounds and 2 ounces and the doctor told me that she scored an 8 out of an 8 on her ultrasound, which is great. He is my high risk doctor and he suggested that I be induced at 37 weeks due to my past history. So I think he is going to tell my regular doctor that. If she goes for it, I will have my little Lexie here in 2 weeks. I can not wait to meet this little one. Her face looks extremely chubby in the ultrasound pictures. I love it. My next appointment is a week from Friday with my regular doctor...so maybe we'll schedule the day!! :)

Well yesterday I went to l&d because I had a little bit of blood when I wiped. They monitored me and said that Lexie looked great and that I was having contractions..but was ok to go home. So I went home and relaxed the rest of the night. I woke up this morning and I have been having bad back pain and contractions. They're coming about every 5 minutes. I've tried laying down, sitting down, and walking around. Drank 3 bottles of water, and they aren't going away. If they don't get any better, looks like I'm headed back up to L&D. We might be having Lexie here pretty soon!!
She's here!! Arrived March 10th at 7:51 pm. 18 inches and 6 pounds and eight ounces. Absolutely perfect!!
