My profile
So I'm so very nervous this time around as I lost my last baby at 22 weeks. Just trying not to stress and take everything in time, I can't wait to get an ultrasound done as I know I will be having several more than normal because of the last pregnancy
So after finding several sites on pregnancy and infant loss and since this month (October) is the awareness month I feel compelled to tell you all my story.....on November 25, 2008 at 19 weeks I went in for a regular u/s to find out the sex of the baby, in the u/s room the tech noticed a problem but legal reasons kept her from saying anything to me at that point, I went into the room and waited for a nurse who told me I need to be seen at a high risk doctors office as there wasn't enought fluid around the baby. I drove 45 minutes to the next hospital where the u/s tech there spend a good hour looking for kidneys and a bladder on my baby (she was pregnant too). With no result the doctor decided to send me for an MRI to see if they were there and something else was wrong. MRI confirmed that no kidneys or bladder presant in the baby. I was scheduled to be induced in December. I gave birth (stillborn) to my little angle on December 16, 2008.
April 2009 lead to a misscarriage, and just as I was about to give up hope I found out I was 3 weeks pregnant in August of 2009 (clear blue digital test shows 5 days before your missed period, they weren't kiddin). Excited and nervous I went into my first u/s the tech was the same as last time. She did the u/s over my belly and then decided that she needed to do an internal one. I wanted to cry as I headed to the batheroom to empty my bladder and was planning for the worse as I came out and she took a few pictures then moved the monitor back to show me "here's one heart beat" (one? I thought to myself) "and here's the other....I'm going to call the one on your right A and the one on the left B" it haddent sunken in until I asked if they were twins, she smiled and told me that a full bladder can sometimes mimick a second heartbeat and had to be sure before she could say anything to me. So nervously I wait for May 2010 to get here to welcome my twins =)
