Hello! My name is Cody, I'm 25 and from WA State. I'm currently pregnant with my very first child (my husbands 4th) and my EDD is 9/7/08. I'm so excited to be experiencing the wonders of pregnancy! (Even if sometimes they aren't so wonderful!)

Well, I had my start prenatal appointment with the nurse yesterday morning. For the most part, it was pretty boring, we went over some family history stuff and they took some blood and a urine sample, but the big appointment with the Dr. isn't until the 21st... 2 more days!!!! Think I can make it? My hubby has been so supportive, he went with me yesterday and was helping me put my shoes back on ( I took them off cuz I thought it would make a BIG difference for the whole weigh in... riiiiight!) I just think he's sooooo cute sometimes! Just thought I would write a little update. I'm so excited for my appointment with the Dr. Maybe I'll get to hear a heart beat!

Oh my goodness... I had my very first u/s yesterday! What a total confirmation of the miracle that is going on in my life right now. My hubby didn't go with me so that he could stay @ home with the 5 yr old so that my mom could go and see her very first real grand baby in action. As soon as she saw it up on the screen she started bawling. All I could do was stare at the screen in amazement... I couldn't believe that little life was inside of ME. All of the nurses in the office were amazed it came out so clear, they said usually the vaginal ones were hard to make out... you can see it's head, and little bitty feet and everything. I was impressed and very excited.

I had yet another Dr's appointment yesterday and finally got to hear my baby's heart beat! I asked the nurse b/c I thought it was rather odd that I hadn't gotten to hear it yet and she goes, "Yep, you'll definitely get to hear it today!" I was stoked! So the Dr. walked in, put the gel on my tummy and all of a sudden there it went.... woosh woosh woosh woosh... It was SOOOO NEAT! I had the hubby with me and I just looked at him in total awe. Nothing much else happened, just did the blood pressure, took my mammoth weight, and made me pee in a dixie cup, and then I was done! To me it was just another crystallizing 'oh my goodness there is a baby in there' moment! When we left I called my hubby on the phone (he had met me at the Dr.) and said, 'isn't it amazing? I can't believe it..." Of course he's been through this ummm like 3 times before so it's not really that new to him, but to me it's just awesome. Anyway, to all of you, I hope you're totally getting lost in the little baby moments like I am! I already love being a mommy! <>

April 9th, 2008 18 Weeks

Well, we had our big ultrasound the other day! The very first thing that the tech started describing was how even if we wanted to know the sex sometimes the baby's didn't cooperate. Then he puts the screen on and BLAMMO... two legs and ... yep, twigs and berries! My mom and I both looked at my husband and go, "is that all you can make?" Honestly though, I was just as happy as I would have been if they would have told me that it was a little girl. It was so neat to see him moving and sucking his little thumb. It's amazing how much love you can feel for something that isn't even here yet. We got some awesome pictures of his little feet, and hands, it brought tears to my eyes!

So, this makes 4 boys for the Ashe family, which is just fine with me. You never know, we just might start our own sports team someday! LOL! I just can't wait to meet my little man! I hope that everyone is as happy as I am with their little gifts from God. Isn't it neat to be a mommy?
