The TWINS are here!

Well my twins Ethan and Bailey are here. They arrived 8th of February at 36 weeks and were born via c-section. I had been in hospital for 9 days before the section due to the placenta parevia. The section went well..there was drama when at the first cut I lost 2 litres of blood and the doctor started shouting for blood BUT it had not be brought in and he yelled at the midwife responsible.

All went well and I had loads of fluids given instead. I had no pain the day of the section but the day after I was in such pain and it was awful. The babies are doing good and NEVER had to go to NICU/SCBU. They however lost weight as babies do and though I wanted to breast feed exclusively I have to bottle feed as well..but they are gaining loads of weight now:) Ethan was born at 10.16am weighing in at 5lbs 7 oz and Bailey at 10.17 am weighing in at 5lbs 15oz. I am a very proud mom.

Hello To All...

I am rather excited to now be able to write on the site. We will be 12 weeks pregnant tomorrow with TWINS! I have been really anxious and worried because of all the horror stories I have read. Having arrived at 12 weeks with only slight morning sickness the last 2 days I can not complain.

My husband and I are super thrilled because we only tried once and got pregnant that first time. We found out within 15 days while we were on vacation in Sweden. It was brilliant news as we found out the day before his birthday. As I was too impatient to wait 12 weeks to do the hospital scan we went for a private scan when we were 7 weeks and found out that we were having 2 babies. I am a twin myself and growing up you hear how it always skips a generation...NOT!
Next week we get our official scan and I am just hoping all is still well:)

Well I am now officially 22 weeks and 2 days. The twins have started kicking and its cool. Its not slightly but its still excellent to feel them kick. I havent logged on for so long because I have been worried about the dreaded getting to 24 weeks. Now its only another week away and so far no major issues. I am having my anomly scan tomorrow and I am super ANXIOUS. I am praying that the babies are perfect and fine and that all is well. We get to find out the sex tomorrow so I am happy about that.

2 weeks ago I was hospitalized over night with the runs and bad lower abdominal pain but I was released the following day. I had gone to A&E after suffering all night on a friday and of course A&E hates pregnant women coz we scare them so I was seen immediately and rushed to the Antenatal wing. I was ok but felt like crap. I had not had any issues at all and was scared but it was all ok and I had a course of antibiotics incase I had an infection. NOw all is well and I just want my babies to be perfect.

My belly is huge but I am loving being pregant.

Well we are now almost 26 weeks (in 2 days). I am so thrilled to be over the scary under 24 week stage:) All is well so far with the babies. We are having a GIRL and a BOY! I am so excited. They both seem to be growing well and the girl is bigger than the boy by just a little bit. He moves around none stop where as she is content just laying there. I have a count down now till they are 37weeks and deemed full term. 79 days to go. I am not sure I am ready yet but the bigger I get the more I know it will be soon.

Yesterday I started reading to them and now I talk to them so its so exciting. I cant wait to be a mom:)

Well we are 27 weeks and 5 days and on sunday we will be 28 weeks. Only 9 weeks 2 days to get to DUE date. I am now on my maternity leave so I am resting as much as I can. I feel them move all the time and its comforting to know. On monday we go in for our 28 weeks scan so I am looking forward to seeing much they have grown and how much they weigh. We have chosen names but are not totally inagreement yet. Now its 66 days to go and I am so wanting them to stay in my belly for the entire time that way they can come home sooner rather than later. I only have 3 stretch marks thus far so I am pleased that the lotions i have been using are some what working. My mood has been stable but today I woke up in a terrible mood coz I have a chest infection and my coughing is keeping me awake but also hubbies snoring is killing me:(

Well today we are 30 weeks pregnant! I am thrilled about getting to this point. Now if I can just keep the twins in my belly for another 7 or 8 weeks. At our 28 weeks scan we found out that she weighs in at 3lbs and 4 oz and he weighs in at 2lbs and 13oz. I am glad that they are both over 2.5 lbs. I hope they keep gaining loads of weight. She is hitting the 95th percentile in all areas and he is your normal average baby.

Besides the two hospitalisations I have had due to my fibriods maybe degenerating I have been ok. Both hospital stays were 2 days and they had me on pain relief and just watched to make sure I wasnt contracting. I pray that I stay out of the hospital competely until the due date.

The babies kicks are really strong now and the movements are something out of preditor. I get comforted when they move as I know they are ok. This thursday we see the midwife and I get my vitals checked. Hopefully my urine is still perfect and I dont have signs of pre-eclampsia or anything like that.

I am not wishing the days away but I just want the remaining days to fly while they are in my belly safely.

Well we made it to 2008. Today I spent the day in A&E in the maternity ward with my mom as I had bad cramps. I had seen the midwife yesterday and she had stated that maybe part of my show had come loose so this morning when i woke up with cramps at 4am and then 10am i called the ward and they said to come in.

After being monitored for several hours they were happy to send me home. My blood pressure is perfect at 110/77 and my pulse is 72 and there was no protein in my urine. Its 8pm and the pains are still there and my lower back hurts. I took paracetamol 1 hour ago and if it doesnt go away i will take the stronger ones. I would hate to return to the hospital. Anyway today they stated the twins are both heads down not that it really helps me as the placenta for one is covering the os so i will be needing a c-section. I doubt at my scan on the 16th there will be a change. I will be glad which ever way they are delivered as long as they get here healthy. I hope they stay in the belly for the remaing 44 days to get to twins fullterm.

We are 32 weeks and 5 days today. Yipee!! We had our 32 week scan on the 16th and it all went great. The baby girl weighs in at 5lbs 7oz and the baby boy weighs in at 4lbs 10oz. I am so thrilled that they are big. I feel like all my efforts are and have paid off. I am so ready for them to come but they will be better staying nice and comfy for another 4 weeks. We have a scan at 36 week on the 13th Feb and if the placenta has not moved then they will be keeping me in hospital after the scan as I cant afford to go into natural labour with a complete placenta parevia. I wonder if they will deliver the babies after the 17th when we are 37weeks or will they try to get me to 38 weeks? I have done my research and know that if the placenta covering the os was going to move it will have done so by now but it hasnt. I have no doubts that I am having a c-section at all. I did not sign up to be a hero but to have two healthy babies and if it means a c-section I am all for it:) When we asked about getting a date for it the specialist stated they would not give us one just incase it moved.....not! Anyway I am glad all is well. I will post more pictures tomorrow..

We went to see the midwife today and it was all good. My BP is 107/70 and there is no protein in my urine. We are measuring 46cm and both fetal heartbeats were heard. Then the thing that drives me mad happened again....the midwife goes and says that we are 34weeks and 1 day today and I am like what? From what we had been going with after the first change we are suppossed to be 33 weeks and 4 days. I asked her to recalculate and she said she was going by the EDD on the 32nd week scan and THAT puts us at 34 weeks and 1 day . So now we have changed the due date from 8th to the 7th March. So I come home and I look it all up and infact we are 33 weeks and 6 days and only 34 weeks TOMORROW if my due date is the 7th March according to my LMP. I am 100% sure when my LMP was because I kept a journal and ensured I wrote all the dates down for when my periods started and ended. SO until I see the specialist next Wednesday I am going with 33 weeks and 6 days! What a load of crap!!!

It should not upset me but it does when you are keeping count and working towards a full term goal.

Anyway I am just glad and blessed that the babies are perfectly fine:)

OK So I AM BEING ADMITTED TODAY! I went in for my regular check and all is perfect but the specialist all of a sudden said "shit you are 35 weeks in 2 days and you still have a low lying placenta" SO for precaution they will keep me in the remaining 2 weeks due to possible APH. I was not expecting it neither was my hubby.....so ladies hopefully there is internet access in the hospital. We came home to collect my bags....I am shit scared now. LOL I am gonna be a mom soon..SHIT! You all take care and good luck.

Well i am and all booked in the hospital. I am seeing the doctor tomorrow.They are planning a c section for next week as close to 36 wks as possible.X

Well I have been in hospital since last wed and and I am having my section on friday 8th. Babies will be 36 weeks. I am getting my steriods tomorrow and thursday. I am super excited and all is well.
