Hi, I am so excited about all of this, but it is so new to me. My husband and I are having a little girl on July 4th! I know she will be a firecracker, because I am! We are thinking about the names Camryn, Felicity or Olivia. I want her to have a unique names that helps shape her identity. I can't wait to teacher her to play soccer, about life and the world. My husband is so excited, he absolutley loves kids. I am currently a full-time public relations manager for a major corporation. My job requires a lot of time, so my husband and I discussed him being a stay-at-home dad. We'll see what happens. Who knows how I will feel after she is born. I am still in shock, but very happy.

My sister just had a baby in March. She had a natural birth with no meds. She also had suffered from several strokes as a child leaving her complete right side parallized. After a lot of therapy, she is able to walk and move like normal, but she just doesn't have any control over her right side at all. So in conclusion, your worries about not being able to have a natural birth...Well, there's no reason you shouldn't be able to have one without complications. Hope this helps.

As pregnant woman we produce a hormone called relaxin (spelling?). This helps relax our joints so our pelvis can spread to make room for the babies head. This is also the reason we have heart burn. Relaxin relaxes the spinctor muscle that holds the food in our stomach. Anyway, the spreading of your joints has already begun. I'm sure you'll be okay but if your really concerned about it you may talk to your doctor about a possible c-section.

I just read your post...my advice would be to look elsewhere for a doctor. I know that sounds crazy at this point, but I recently switched b/c I didn't feel that my doctor was being informative, I had to ask all the questions to find out important things...not info was being offered to me...I couldn't be happier. I asked a few different friends who their doctors were and went from there...
Good luck!

My friend had hip replacement surgery when she was 26, due to lupus. She was told that if she attempted a vaginal birth, it would most likely mean another surgery for her to place her leg back into the hip joint after delivery. So since either way she was going to end up with surgery, she chose to have a c-section, which turned out fine. She has since had a second child, also by a c-section. I think if whatever surgeries you have had compromises the ability of your pelvis to open fully during delivery, you may be faced with having to have a c-section. Good luck.

Hi I did write a message before but I'm not sure it worked so sorry if you get two.
I had by your description similiar pain and at first they thought it was my gall bladder. It actually ended up being hydronephrosis which is basically a blocked kidney. I had it first pregnancy and in this one and for me it is where the tube from the kidney to the bladder gets blocked which causes alot of severe pain. Its not nice and laying down may make it worse. It is unpredictable and could go for 10minutes or 2hrs. Maybe ask them for a scan on your kidney?

Could it be Kidney or bladder stones?

teresa262 - Monday, 25 Feb
I had a horrible gallbladder attack when I was 17 weeks. The pain waas localized right below my breast bone, right where your diaphram is, and the pain would radiate to that same location on my back. I could not talk, breath, lay down, sit up, eat, nothing. I had mine taken out two days later after staying in the hospital for tests. It sounds like your pain is more in the appendix area. I wish you luck and hope that they can find out what it is. Take care

I've gained at least 20lbs. I started off at 135 -- now I'm up to 155. I'm 5'7''. All the weight has gone to my boobs and stomach. I don't seem to look different anywhere else though.

araya-sunshine - Saturday, 16 Feb
I haven't gained any weight. I lossed 8 pounds and gained it back so I'm right back at my pre-baby weight. My doc isn't worried about it because the baby is still growing and is healthy. My belly is getting bigger though! My boobs aren't which is surprising. I started with double Ds and they're still DDs. :)

Since you asked, I gained about 9 pounds. It's all boobs and belly at this point. I am happy with the amount I have gained so far; it's right on schedule for me.

Hi there!
I have stayed away from diet drinks all together. there isn't much info on what aspertame can do to an unborn child. I have heard that it can cause blindness, so I have just not been drinking them, the caffine isn't good either. Carbonated beverages in general should be consumed moderately as it sucks calcium from you and the baby. I still drink a glass or 2 a day but I also drink more milk to help with the calcium.

Celise, its whatever you think. You are going to have so many people tell you this is wrong, this is right, do this, do that! Make your best judgement girl!

Four pounds a month (so a pound a week) is considered a healthy weight gain during pregnancy. I believe that first trimester weight gain should be around four pounds in total and second trimester is as i mentioned before. I hope that helps you. :)

i can difinetly sympathize with you in that area my pre-pregnancy weight was 140 and im 5'9 so thats normal..and i blew up to 170 the first 3 months!! and after that its just sort of stayed like that. on one hand im happy.... then on the other hand i cant help but be worried sick about the baby..but i feel her kicking all the time..and that makes me feel better!..dont worry in my opinion its totally normal..but it all depends on your body.

HI, Congratulations on your pregnancy. To answer your questions about feeling the baby..Everyone is different. IF this is your first baby you may not be able to feel it right away. I used to think I had really bad gas without the actual act of letting it go.(sorry best way I can describe) You may be feeling it now and confusing it with gas or it may just be that you wont for another few weeks. I don't feel mine every day and this is my 2nd so I kind of know what I am feeling.. No worries..It will happen and soon enough you will say Baby quit kicking me =)
