on a happier note, everyone close to me is very excited about meeting my baby. i found out on september 10 that i am expecting a little boy =) I have already decided that his name will be Aldon Lee. besides myself, i think my mom is the most excited =) it's her first grandbaby and it's all she can talk about. ill be surprised if i ever get to hold my son lol =) i am very lucky for all the support around me =)

February 17 - The Birth Story from February 6, 2008

Wow! Time to update!! my son, Aldon Patrick Lee, was born on February 6, 2008!!! so here is my birth story. on monday my membranes were stripped. well, tuesday morning i began having contractions. labor and delivery told me not to come in unless they were 3-5 minutes apart for over 2 hours. my contractions lasted all day tuesday and became increasingly worse (the kind where i couldnt stand, and wanted to scream!). however, they never became regular. i would have a contraction, then 10 minutes later have another...then 8 minutes later...then 5 minutes...then 11....A little after 1am i finally could not stand it and had my mom call labor and delivery. they kept asking to talk to me but i was in such pain i didnt want to get on the phone. whoever she was speaking to got frustrated enough and told us just to come in. we did and when they checked my cervix i was 5cm so they admitted me. i could not stand the nurses who were on duty at the time. thank goodness the next shift came in at 6am. they were getting frustrated with me and let me know it- something i believe was completely uncalled for. however, the next shift was amazing. i begged for pain relief and i finally got an epidural by 9am. by that time i was 6cm. now let me tell you...i have no idea how anyone can go natural. that epidural was amazing!!! as soon as it hit me, i was in heaven. i couldn't do anything from the waist down, but i didnt care. i could barely fill the contractions. about 10am the doctor came in and broke my water. my contractions werent coming as close as they wanted them to so they finally put me on pitocin about 12:30pm. the nurse said she would check my cervix again in about 2 hours. well, after about an hour i suddenly felt pressure in my rear end, rather than my stomach. i told the techs and they said since i didnt have the urge to push i was ok. i really think i could have had aldon sooner if they had checked my cervix. about 2:30 the nurse checked me and asked if i was ready to push. i about freaked out, i couldn't believe it was time! i began pushing a little after 3 in the afternoon. the doctor came in and said i still had some time so he left. after about 45 minutes of pushing, he was ready to come on out. they told me to stop pushing and to wait for the doctor to come back. but i wasnt pushing anymore! i kept asking where the doctor was and they told me he would be there in a couple of minutes. my mom says this is when i got mad and asked where the damn doctor was lol well, i swear i wasnt pushing when a nurse finally said grab me a towel. then at 3:52 pm Aldon Patrick Lee was born! a full 2 minutes later the doctor walked in lol well, i had a 2nd degree laceration on the inside only and i guess that's ok??? but anyways....i love this little boy more than this world!!

February 4

Well, 4 days overdue now and still no baby. Had my non stress test done today and it took forever. He wasn't being very active so they did an ultra sound to make sure he was doing ok-i guess he was just sleepy and didn't feel like moving around. that also took forever, he wasn't doing anything at all. so they got this little buzzer and put it on my stomach....he sure didnt enjoy that lol punched me right in the stomach as soon as they buzzed him. and ooh, was confirmed again that im definitely having a boy! but he finally did the few things they were watching for so they decided not to induce. she also checked my cervix and i am 3cm dialated! 2 weeks ago i was nothing, wooohoo! oh and then she stripped my membranes-not comfortable at all! well, hopefully that will kick start labor. if it doesn't though, i have to go back to l&d for another nst thursday afternoon. then we will pick an induction date. at least he will be here by valentines day. hopefully i go into labor before then though!

January 30

had my appt yesterday. i have a non stress test scheduled for monday, february 4th (if i hold out until then!!) she said that they MIGHT decide to induce me then so to make sure to bring my bags. i know it's not a guarantee and i shouldn't get my hopes up...buut it's as if there is an end in site!!! this is so exciting, it finally became real to me today. i literally broke down in tears. im going to be a mom to a wonderful boy, he will be here in no time at all! and it would be so cool if he's born on monday. that's my grandfather's birthday, and Aldon will be his first great grandchild =) it's a possibility!!

January 29

2 days until my due date! and still pregnant! lol not much going on other than that. just waiting for this baby to pop on out. im so excited, i can't wait until my little boy comes into this world! =)

December 31

well yesterday was my birthday. 19 years old now :) and now, just one more month until my sweet baby boy arrives! as i get closer to my due date, i am definitely getting more anxious. he has become a lot more active, and a lot bigger...i can't stop running to the bathroom. i am so scared we wont be close to being ready by the time he arrives. he wont go unloved though so i know everything will be ok, he's worth it. i can't wait to hold my sweet Aldon

December 21

well, today i had my appointment. i have gained 3lbs since my last appointment for a total for 30lbs. nurse wasnt too thrilled because i was told to only gain 15lbs lol...oh well. his heart rate was 141. i absolutely love hearing that =) then she told me i should really get the flu shot...of course i havent had a shot in years..and im horrible when getting my blood drawn....buuut they talked me into it, it's for the baby. so i got the flu vaccine today. well, i was told to book my next appointment for 2 weeks from now. that would put my next appointment around january 3rd. well, because of the holidays and the new year they are completely backed up until january 14. they have to get me in by january 3rd though because i guess you cant take that strep test any later than a certain week. so they are really trying to get me in sooner than someone else that might not necessarily need their appointment so soon. oh and then i was informed today there is a 7 month class im supposed to attend. but of course im 34 weeks now so im a little late...so on january 8th, when im 36 weeks and some days, they want me to preadmit to get ready for when i actually do go into labor and delivery. well, that's pretty much it. he was very active after my appointment today. i was getting a kick out of watching my 13 y.o. brother watching my stomach. it was kind of grossing him out lol well, that's all. not too much longer until my sweet baby boy is here!!

November 28

well, had my doctors appointment today. im proud to say i have only gained 3lbs in the past 4 weeks. that's great for me! especially since last time she scolded me for my weight gain.....well, i am officially 31 weeks and everything is going great. his heart beat was in the 130s. my next appointment will be december 21 but im going to see if i can switch to the week after christmas once they come out with the new schedule for appointments. well, the only other update is a good friend of mine passed away 4 1/2 weeks ago on October 27. his name was noel patrick reynolds and i miss him dearly. he would lead people he worked with to believe that i was having his baby, and he always asked how my appointments were. he asked me when i first became pregnant can i hold your baby? he was only 16 years old. so in honor of him i adjusted my son's name a little bit. i will be naming him aldon patrick lee. i wanted to use noel, because he went by that and not patrick...however, you cant really stick that name in there and make it sound good =) i know noel is watching over my little man until i get him in january or maybe february =)

October 19

my second trimester has been wonderful! except for the nose bleeds. im told it's normal because of increased blood in my body...well, that's really all i had to say lol it's about 1am and not tired. my mom called me down to her job earlier tonight so i could compare my tummy to her co worker, who is due about 2 weeks after i am. and of course my mom wanted to take pictures. however, luck was in my favor and her battery would not stay charged long enough for the picture to be taken. (it was 11pm and i looked like..well, 11pm....)

October 13

Well, i went to my u/s on october 11. i was hoping he would cooperate enough so i could leave with more pictures of him. however, that was not the case. i had to go back for another u/s because last time they couldn't finish getting the pictures they needed of his heart and brain. the whole time he slept with his arm over his face (exactly as i sleep!) and his knees were crossed. my 13 y.o brother came with me to this appointment and he really wanted to see that the baby was a boy. he said "im not gay or anything but ive never wanted to see a penis so bad in my life" lol well, we couldn't get a good glimpse. the u/s tech said she thought she saw boy parts, but he didn't show anything for long. what a stinker. well, i did get one picture. it was of his spine so at least we know that my baby has a back bone =)

October 4

well i went to the doctor yesterday and i have gained 11 lbs. i thought i was doing pretty good lol im told i am only supposed to gain 15 lbs. because of my weight before the pregnancy. i don't know if that's going to happen lol well, my next u/s is scheduled for next week on october 11. ill keep everyone updated! =)
