I just found out that I am pregnant! My last period was 1-16-08 and I didnt get a positive result until 2-29-08. We are so excited, but nervous at the same time because I had severe preeclampsia and Hellp syndrome last pregnancy which was my first pregnancy. My son was 6 weeks early and weighed 4lbs 12 oz. he was very healthy at birth and I am so thankful for that and that I ended up ok in the end too! We are hoping for a healthy pregnancy and delivery!! I dont know my due date yet, because I havent been to the doctor yet.

Hi,
Yes, all is fine at the moment. I'm doing my BP at least twice a day and all is good so far. They found a tumor on my right ovary at one of my ultrasounds, but they think it will be fine - they're going to remove it at the section in 3 weeks...if I get that far - contractions as we speak!!
How's everything going will you?

Hi! Congrats on your pregnancy! I have a question for you as I am TTC #2. I read your post about how you didn't test positive until way late. I am currently at what i believe to be 5-6 weeks along but have had 4 positives and 3 negatives. The postives were all on higher sensitivity tests but the lines were super duper faint...like I had to squint to see them on two tests. Did you have any trrouble with your home tests since your HCG levels were so low in the beginning? Any advice would be wonderful. Thank you so much for your time and may God bless you and your baby!

Hi There! All continues to be good from that point of view. I'm still doing my blood pressure morning and night and it is still normal. I have a bottle of betablockers in the cupboard, just in case though! My OB did my bloods about 4 weeks ago and all was fine. Live enzymes were normal and I wasn't even anemic!!! Take care and keep me updated too!

hi there ~~ thank you for your kind words. Um, the brand was I think a generic brand from Stater Bros. and it was only 500 mg. It worked out pretty good for me in the end. I just remember the Dr. telling me that because it can come on so sudden, there is not a whole lot they can do before hand to monitor it or try adn prevent it. That was the only scary thing through this whole last pregnancy. I will be praying for you though, it can really be a dangerous thing to have. Well obviously you already know that.

Hello ~~ No, the second time I didnt get preeclampsia or eclampsia. Mind you, I did take extra calcium chews throughtout the pregnancy which I have read that Dr.s say extra calcium does help in preventing it. I will pray for you with this pregnancy as I am sure you know how scary preeclampsia/eclampsia can be.

with the blighted ovums, i was 9 weeks when i started spotting, went in for an ultra sound and had the gestational sac measuring 9 weeks but there wasn't anything else. dr. said there may have been a slight fetal pole, but no yolk, no baby, really no nothing. with the second one, i was 13 weeks and spotting, ultrasound found an 11 week gestational sac, nothing else. so i started to look pregnant, definitely felt like it, but really wasn't. you are so early that your spotting may be something totally different. i'm honestly not sure that a baby should be able to be seen at 4 weeks. a yolk sac is great, something i never saw with my losses. anyway, keep your chin up, i just went in agan for spotting and my dr. said it was just a bleed that was created when the baby attached. sometimes spotting can be normal. hope that helps, god bless and keep me posted.

Hi, I had HELLp with my first one too and had him at 33 weeks, he was 4 lbs and is now an absolutely fine 2 1/2 year old into everything! I'm currently 25 weeks into my second pregnancy and so far so good. I have to take my blood pressure every morning and night, to keep and eye on things and I'll have extra blood tests at my next doctor's appointment next week, just to check that my liver is ok. Just make sure your doc is up to speed with everything and try to relax and enjoy it!!!

It can take up to 2 weeks from the time the pregnancy is unsuccessful to when you start to menstruate. BUT, if you are concerned, then don't be shy about checking with your doctor again... that's what they're there for! Sometimes your body needs a 'kick start' with uterine stimulating drugs to begin the process. Hope all goes smoothly.

There is a condition called a 'chemical pregnancy' where your egg is fertilized but does not divide properly and does not implant, but the hormones are still produced by your ovaries for a little while, until the egg breaks down. I had one of these... had a very weak +ive on a pregnancy test then a -ive a few days later, followed by a heavy period, which was late. It was really confusing and upsetting, but I have subsequently found out is also very common, and most women don't even know it has happened, unless they have been checking their levels. Good luck and I hope this helps.
