Yikes - another big baby! It seems like a lot of people are being told they're having gigantic babies so maybe the stars will line up and we'll have 8 pounders instead (yah, I wish!). I'm not petite, but I have a super narrow birth canal so I know what you're going through with the head not engaging in the pelvic area...that's why my daughter got stuck - her humongous head wouldn't fit! In fact, her head is still in the 97% and she just turned 3. I've been crampy all day (off and on contractions) and my mom (who is VERY intuitive) told me tonight that she thinks I'm going to have him tomorrow. Well, I've been thinking this whole time he'd come early because my daughter did, but now I just want to wait, ya' know? It's less than a week away and I honestly don't feel like going to the hospital tomorrow so I hope she's wrong (for once). Have my last MW/OB appointment tomorrow and then it's smooth sailing from there. I'm glad that you're feeling well and that you're not as itchy!! Good luck with your section next Thursday - I'll let you know how mine goes if I'm not too out of it!

hey thx for replying yes I just called my doctor and he wants me to go in so lets see what happens i just went to the doctor on monday and nothing was going on in there and I started to feel this tuesday... it really feels like I have to go to the bathroom

Hey -
Just read your post and wanted to let you know that I went for my last ultrasound yesterday morning (37wks/6days). The baby's gotten even more gigantic (if that's possible). The OB said that he's minimum 9lbs and that he's so big she couldn't fit all of him on the ultrasound screen at one time (yikes!) - she also said she wouldn't be surprised that if I went until 5/27 that he could be 10lbs (and my due date isn't until 6/3). I said "well, because of the margin for error (statistically +/- .5lbs), isn't it possible that he could be smaller?" And she said "this is a really big baby - he actually might even be closer to 9.5lbs at this point." I had my first by c-section because she was so big at 37wks (8lbs) that she got stuck in my birth canal so hence the c-section again. Why can't they just do it now?! I don't think my skin can stretch any further at this point...then my mid-wife said "oh, yes it can!" Thanks a lot for that - I've survived two pregnancies without a single stretch mark (thanks to my mom & dad for the awesome skin genes) so I don't need to wake up tomorrow with a whole bunch of them! I have my pre-op labs tomorrow AM and then my section next Tuesday. My feet are still horribly swollen and it's getting more and more difficult to move around because of that and the baby's size (I'm so HUGE at this point). Hubby has been so wonderful - taking care of me and Ella and making sure that everything is still running smoothly with me on semi-bed rest. He works crazy long hours so I was a little worried when my MW said to "take it easy", but he's really stepped up to the plate and that's such a relief. Oh, well, only a week more to go and my baby will be here! Yea! How're you doing these days? I bet you are so ready to deliver at this point! Keep me posted on your progress if you have time...

Hi...My baby is also measuring at least 8 and a half pounds but they dont seem to be worried at all....whereas I am!! The last two babies that got delivered at my hospital were over 9lbs . I asked about getting induced but they wont do it as I dont have anything wrong...no high blood pressure or swelling or anything...I know I should be greatful but like you I really dont want to deliver a 10lb baby!!!!! heres hoping we will both go into labor sometime VERY soon xxx

I don't want to squealch excitement but I know how hard it is at end when everything makes me think maybe. You could have the baby very soon. I always lose plug for a few weeks toward the end. My OB says it replenishes itself. When I see some blood tinged is when I'm very close. That's me.

Its crazy how they tell us that. Like at my bpp last week the tech told me my due date was last saturday..lol..well according to measurements. My baby boy is measurin 8lbs too..but there measurements are never meant to be taken as completey accurate because they could be off by a whole lbs give or take. Anyways good luck to you too..enjoy this last lap..i know im havin a hard time doing it.

Hi- I had the same problem, but they didn't want to change my due date...but ask me to come twice a week for check ups and blood tests caouse my BP went up too.
You can try to have natural birth and if it's not pregresing, they will do a c-section.

You'll be fine! Baby dust to you!

Hi im just responding to your question on measurements. My fundal height measurements have always been 2 cm more than my weeks. Then it moved up to bout 3..so i had to get a biophysical profile last week..at 38 weeks and 2ds and the ultrasound measurements was 40weeks and 1day. But they didnt feel the need to change my due date. Today at my check up my fundal height was 44.5 which was a jump from last thursday which was 40.5! So now they are talking about inducing me next week cuz of his size. I really think my dates are wrong for all i know im already over due!
