Wednesday, 14 May At my 18 week scan they told me both kids were 9 oz but they hadn't mentioned anything since then. At 24 wks I get another big long 2 hour scan so I bet they will tell me then. Bummer about your back! I am getting the dizzy nautious heartburn with a headache. Its better today thank goodness! Sometimes this isn't so much fun. One girl at work today was trying to help and make me feel better by asking "How do you eat an elephant", the answer is "One bite at a time, just get through minute by minute hour by hour, day by day! Pretty soon this will all be over!" It kinda made me feel better. My sister told me she read somewhere that diapers.com has the best deals on diapers, it might be worth checking into! twinstwice -
Wednesday, 14 May I actually don't have any more scans scheduled. My doc isn't worried much about me this time as I did so well last time. I was in today and everything seemed fine.
About the labour for the second twin... I actually don't remember too much. I do remember the relief with having the first one out that I don't think the second set of labour pains were too bad. And then when I tried pushing the second one out I wasn't getting too far too fast so the doc went in to help her out (I think they used vacuum extraction), I was probably just too tired to do it all on my own and they don't like to leave the second one it too much longer after the first, especially since she was the reason I was induced in the first place (she wasn't growing as much anymore).
My back is quite sore too, especially with lifting my girls up a lot. It was great while I was away but starting to get bad again. Have you gained much weight? I am at 25 lbs already and way bigger than last time! TWINSX2 -
Wednesday, 14 May I know exactly how you feel!!! I do not think I can handle a c-section, having to come home to 5 under 5 with 2 newborns!!!!!
Yes we were surprised to be having ANY, much less twins. Both sets of twins were conceieved while trying NOT to. The harder we try not to get pregnant, they come by two!LOL=) TWINSX2 -
Tuesday, 13 May Yes you still have lots of time!!! will pray that your son turns soon so you can have peace of mind!!!!! TWINSX2 -
Tuesday, 13 May Hi, I have boy girl twins that are 9 mos and the boy stayed feet down until the day before my induction. The doc thought they may have to do a c-section, but I went in for all of my pre-admission work up and they decided to check one more time and he had turned!!!!! Believe me I did not think there was enough room, but he did it!!!! Good luck and happy gestation!!! I am hoping for b/g again or 2 girls this time!!!! I have three boys within 22 mos, so the girl twin needs buddies! Take care. buninoven -
Tuesday, 13 May Hi! How are you feeling??? You might try the 1800 number, that was how I signed up for the free stuff. Wow yucky headache today! Do you get those much? I skipped work after lunch today because I felt nauseated and light headed and shaky. No fun! I am so bummed the stretch mark fairy came to my house! Not on my tummy yet, just on my sides! Yuck! Yayyy! Hubbys home now I don't have to cook anymore. He may not be very good about backrubs but he does do all of the cooking! I hope you had a great weekend!! mum2twins-yay -
Monday, 12 May Congratulations on having one of each, I'm really hoping we have b/g we decided not to find out but I've guessed b/g by looking at our scan pics. Both of the babies heads are down at present, so I really hope they stay that way. IndiMOM -
Monday, 12 May HI, thanks for replying to me, you know sometimes feels like I am all alone in this....have shed tears already. My problem is that my BS numbers are going high again, even though I am taking insulin. but my doctors have asked me to be on bedrest
I am going nuts in putting the GD and bedrest together. Because of GD, I need to walk 20 min to 30 min after my meal, but doctor says feets off the ground all the time :(

Monday, 12 May Crazy how time has gone by!!!
Glad to hear the dress still fits. I am glad I don't have anything this time around, though I still have my dress from last time. However my boobs are way bigger this go and my tops just don't fit right.
My babes are head up and head down, though I am not sure who is further down as the last US tech I had was really bad... she didn't tell me much at all and I never found out their weights either. I don't know if your weights are big or small, you should be able to find out with your doc (last time they always plotted it for me on a chart so I knew their percentile, maybe you can find something online?). I hope the other one turns too since I want to have a natural birth again. Last time one was head up for over half the pregnancy but she turned in the end and both were head down so hopefully we both get that! twinstwice -
Sunday, 11 May Hey, we had a wonderful time on our trip. A much needed break and now I have all the patience in the world to deal with the girls. And I don't feel crazy about getting house work done either... since I get so tired and sore so quick it is good that it isn't driving me crazy (but of course ask me in a week when the house is in a real mess!)
Congrats on a boy and a girl! That is so awesome. That is what we wanted with the first go but alas that just doesn't happen when they are identical!
Does your dress fit you ok? I was a maid of honor for my best friends wedding last time (I was 34 weeks, crazy hey?). Anyways, I managed to find a nice maternity dress and close to the colour she wanted (there were no other bridesmaids so it didn't have to match anything, lucky me). And there are lot of nice dresses in this one store we have here in Canada but maybe they are mostly cocktail dresses, did you need something more fancy? Oh, and don't go with pointy little heals (I was naive enough to think that I could wear them last time but my feet were starting to swell and well, um, at least I looked good!) Mommy2twogreatkids -
Sunday, 11 May Hi we too are having twins. We do not know the sexes yet but we sure are excited!!!

Saturday, 10 May Yayyy! I got to see the kids today! I work right next door to my ob office and it had been 3 or 4 days since I had felt some good significant movement, just little bumps here and there. So I called to ask how long it can go being pretty quiet in there before I need to start to worry? They said come on over we will have a peek! So they put me on the ultrasound and there they were quietly sitting there waving their arms and legs. They are right now upside down with their heads by each of my hip bones and their feet are at my belly button. That was why I hadn't felt any big kicks on my sides. My nurse who is a total sweetie, said that it is super common for the moms 21-24 weeks to come in saying the same thing. It made me feel like I am not such a worrier. I too have crazy amounts of stuff coming out of my nose! I can see the bottom of my belly button, its almost flat now, it hasn't popped like yours yet. I told my hubby that story and he thought that was really cute. He can't wait for mine to do that! It is so embarassing, he keeps lifting my shirt and showing friends my big tummy. I think he is having a hard time being gone too. He has called me a million times in the last couple of days. He even called a friend of his to come over and move the yard debris garbage can to the curb so I wouldn't have to move a heavy rolling container. I recieved another box of free formula from nestle good start today! Now I have 4 free cans as back up. June 3rd is my next big scan! It seems like a long ways away! Milk really helps the heartburn, but only for a little while, zantac is great for overnight. I take 1 pill at night and it helps bunches. When is your mothers day? Do you get free dental work too? I am really craving pineapple and corndogs. Not togeather of course, but I may have to hop to the store and get some. Have a great weekend!! Nap! Nap! Nap! :) buninoven -
Friday, 9 May The 4d scan is sooo fun! They look really lumpy. It is cool though! I had it with my amnio, that was the only one of those I will get, bummer. I think I go back for a scan at 24wks and that one I guess will be 2 hours long. Weird. Theres no problems so far, just really complete. Then I go again 6wks later. I got my super-duper industrial breast pump in the mail today. Its a double medela. I hear thats the good one and I only had to pay $55 through my insurance, I guess to just buy it off the shelf is $339 so I finally like my insurance company. I would still rather have a babies in london, money-wise, I'll trade you!! :) I thought your scans we free too? Hubby gets home late sunday night now since I called and said he needs to cut this trip shorter! Those hormones!! That back of yours sounds really painful! My big complaint is this constant terriable heartburn! Yuck! Did your honey get you your mothers day present yet? I got a hanging flower basket of fucias to bring the hummingbirds in. I always got it for my mom every year and its so weird now I get one! Our big remodel begins on our house this month. The city has finally approved our plans for expansion! Yayyyy! Have that honey of yours give you a back rub! You deserve it!! Take care!! :) buninoven -
Tuesday, 6 May I am bummed my hubby leaves tomarrow. It is so hard when he's gone! It sounds like you are really getting that shopping done! How is that house hunting going? buninoven -
Monday, 5 May The results came back that both kids are great! Whew! I was really worried being 35 years old! I didn't know they had IKEAs over there, I am looking for some cute bookshelves. Did you buy anything? I slept all day until 2pm and dragged my self out of bed then. The kids weren't moving much so of course, back to worrying. I have an appt tomarrow and you do too right? Good luck and let me know how that scan goes!!! Good luck!! buninoven -
Friday, 2 May My belly button doesnt pop out yet it just gets achey. I had never seen the bottom of it until now! I guess I will be popping inthe next few weeks too. Good luck on your appt. I go on the 5th just a boring measure and weight check. No scan darn it. My results came in on baby "A"and all is great!! Baby "B" will come tomarrow or monday, but they said not to worry. Whew! I can feel them move a bunch more now!! One point today I felt vibration and wiggle for like 3 seconds. Baby B is the super active one, its the one on top close to my ribs. What names do you have? Enjoy your free weekend, spoil yourself!! spadoinkle -
Wednesday, 30 April yeah me either i have to bend at work ti file cards and i cant do it anymore, and moving takes a lot ore energy. hehe..yeah im very greatful i didnt get sick..im definitly a wimp when it comes to that stuff.. buninoven -
Wednesday, 30 April Oh yeah, the names we have are Cressey and Keylin. Cressey is my hubbys name, family thing. Kind of funky but still pronounceable! buninoven -
Wednesday, 30 April What?? No baby showers there!!! You definately need to start that tradition. You get a mountain of gifts from friends and family. Usually you get a shower with your 1st child but then on it is assumed you have most everything for the next children unless you are having twins. If nothing else it is a good excuse to get the girls togeather and eat and catch up and watch them have fun drinks. I get a work people shower, friend shower and family shower. The friend one is the most fun of course. But then again you get 2 free babies!! I think it might even out money wise! The baby fair sounds fun!! I got to feel baby B this morning for sure! I felt a thump and then a small sliding feeling! Whoah! I hadn't felt that before, there is definately someone in there. Baby A was bumping around a little bit too. It felt so cool I wanted to skip out on work and just lay there a feel them all day. I should get my amnio results on friday, I am so nervous!! Are you having any weird dreams?? I get some really silly ones about the babies. I am excited about your appt I can't wait!! Take care!! buninoven -
Tuesday, 29 April I think the rest of my classes are free, well, included in the price of the $25,000 birth. I have a breast feeding class, a bringing home newborns, hospital tour and birthing room tour & how to care for twins class then I am finished with classes. The heartburn thing is making me crazy, other than that I am doing ok. The other day in bed I was on my back trying to get out of bed and felt like a turtle stuck on its back. We got to laughing so hard I couldn't get up even with my hubbys help. He had to roll me. I just can't bend in the middle like I used too. I have been lucky and no back pain yet just sore feet at the end of the day. Don't buy too much stuff yet, you will get a ton of stuff at your baby shower too. Don't forget to register for all of the goodies! Grandparents love to buy things and frinds love to go in togeather and buy some of the big pricey stuff too. Save some things for them to get for you. Feel better soon! Take care!! spadoinkle -
Tuesday, 29 April hi. im feeling good. wondering when all the bad things will happen.i didnt have any morning sickness or anything..hopefully the next 17 weeks will be this easy. its going by so fast and theres so much to do..we are having girls.are yours identical?? buninoven -
Monday, 28 April Hi! Lamaze is the class everyone here goes to for birthing prepartation. It teaches breathing and birthing techniques and tells you all about the options, drugs, shows scary birthing movies. I guess its named after some Dr. Pretty much everyone I know goes to it to get all of the info. Some do it a 3x aweek for like 6 weeks or you can do a condensed weekend course. We just did the weekend one al day yesterday and today. Its fun to people watch there. Hippies and normal people, young pregnant girls and there moms, Older and younger couples too. We were the gigglers. We couldn't stop giggling. We had fun. I think I am ready now! Hope you had a good weekend! twinstwice -
Sunday, 27 April My legs are still itching, though when I remember to my babes oil on them they look so much better. Hopefully the sun and salt will do wonders for them. I am hoping that the other babe is a boy, it would make life easier to have everyone sharing a room, rather than the younger kids each getting their own if it is a boy and a girl. That being said, it wouldn't be something I would have to worry about for a while since my girls really do love hanging out with each and they are good friends already. It is so cute to watch!
I am feeling so pregnant! My back, pelvis, and hips are starting to feel the effects, and often by the end of the day I am unable to walk normally. But I am resting less then before trying to get stuff done so that the house is ready (I will have no time after!).
And I did find a swimsuit, two pieces but I just bought the top on it's own as the matching bottoms were a little too skimpy for a pregnant momma! I found a black skirt made out of swim suit material, it looks alright.
How much stuff have you bought for the babes? NOTE: Older messages are compressed to speed up the website.
