Hey, everyone! I am very excited that I will be having a beautiful baby boy in just two months! I am married and have a step-daughter, Ashley, who is 11, and can't wait to have a little brother. His name is going to be Chase Michael Collins. I feel like I have been pregnant forever, but now I am 31 weeks and my baby will be here so soon! I have been very lucky because I have had such a smooth pregnancy, with no problems at all. I didn't get morning sickness, heartburn, swollen anything(yet), or any of the horrible things some women have to go through! I just have a belly that seems to be getting bigger everyday.

33 weeks now, and I feel really big and really pregnant. It's so weird, I am going to have a son so soon. I have been going to the doctor every two weeks, they never really do anything but ask if everything is ok, and check the heart rate. I wish I could get a 4D ultrasound, but they don't have any places that do them in my area. : ( The only complaint I have is my one of my legs is really sore all the time and I don't understand why. And I always wonder why everyone says their baby is kicking so hard it hurts, cause when mine is moving it feels fine, not painful. Actually, one more complaint-- I can't find ever find anything to wear!! Either everthing is too big(maternity pants) or waayyy too small... ha ha

Chase is 6 weeks old now, and I am so in love! He is such a good child, doesn't really cry, and sleeps pretty good at night, although he hates the bassinet so he usually ends up in the bed... I have alot of new pics, so check them out.

I have a Moby Wrap and love it. It is a long piece of fabric and has to be tied and crossed over the front and back of your body. It takes some getting used to but it is versitile and is the only carrier I have been able to wear for extended periods without shoulder or back pain- I tried the Snugli and Baby Bjorn with my other two babies.

I like the sleepy wrap and it is reasonably priced too. Do not get the Boppy I hated that one. You can also make your own by purchasing 5 yards of fabric that you like I think it needs to be 20 inches wide and then just wrap it around you like the other wraps. Although purchasing your own material can be expensive because usually it comes wider than 20 inches and so to get five yards of 60 inch wide fabric adds up. Plus you would have to cut the 5 yards right down the middle to get a 20 inch wide piece. It seems like it would be hard to do that. Maybe you could have the fabric store cut it. Then you have to mark the middle somehow so you know where to start the wrap. I am sure what I am saying doesn't make much sense unless you already have a wrap...which is why buying one can be better than making one.

I prefer a sling. The carrier was too hard on my back last time and if you buy a sling, you can use it so many different ways as well. Women in Africa have been using baby slings for hundreds of years so I figure they must be the best choice!!

Oh I am so not planning on wearing a swimsuit this year. I may fit into my old jeans but my stomach is still flabby...well maybe if it is a tankini with shorts but that make it more of a tank top and shorts kind of an outfit. It is warming up hear too.

Tricks to calm a fussy baby: wear him in a sling (this is my #1 go to technique - works amazingly), walk around, do squats while holding him (they like the "elevator ride" sensation), shh loudly in his ear, swaddle him, sing to him, give him something to suck on (mine loves my pinkie finger), bounce and jiggle him in your arms, hold him like a football on his belly, get him outside to feel the fresh air, stand under a light or near a window (they like the contrasts and shadows), and most importantly, take a few deep breaths yourself! Good luck.

Our baby calms when we pace with her and pat her on the back. She will also calm when I pat her on the back and rock her in the glider. And...she loves riding around on me in the sling, she goes right to sleep.

I had a c-section on April 3rd, and my husband and I have only had sex a few times. After 4 weeks (post-surgery) my doc said sex was okay, but I wasn't ready. My husband was very understanding...he didn't want to hurt me or anything of course! When I was finally ready it was 6 weeks after the c-section, and the first time hurt like hell. I just attributed it to the fact that it had been awhile (we hadn't done it for about a month before I had the baby either), and I was really tense-which probably made it worse-because I was so scared. After the initial "first-time" it was cake! Just like before. So, I don't think you will tear or anything will happen. As long as you have your doctors okay then there shouldn't be a problem! I hope this makes you feel better!

 What a cutie!

I know what you mean about feeling guilty about co sleeping. My hubby was worried too. He went to Dr. Sears.com to see what they had to say about it. He printed out the article for me. In it he talked about his own experiences with it and also related the stories of nurses with kids who did the same thing. They talked about all the benefits to the baby, not to mention to the parents, since we get better sleep this way too. It made me feel like I was such a good mom after reading all that. It was like you're doing something right. Before, I was nervous about telling other moms but now I tell people all the time now that we co sleep. It's awesome!!

Yeah, 10 ounces is a lot, but it had been about 8 hours! I still have a lot of it left, which is great since normally I'm stuck nursing every two hours, and now if I ever need to do something I have a little flexibility. Breastfeeding is so tough.

Milmom2be - Wednesday, 21 May
Thank you for responding, I am feeling much better knowing that most women feel great about 6-7 weeks after. Gives me hope for getting back to some kind of normal! Thanks again, and you have a beautiful baby!
