Hi! James and I are expecting our first baby. The range of emotions for us both is crazy...excited, happy, nervous, scared, etc. I was told that conceiving was going to be very hard for me, so when I turned up pregnant - I was in complete shock. I thought I was coming down with the flu and I didn't believe the doctor when she came in and said the urine test was positive. Once we both got over the shock, we were excited and started making all kinds of plans. There's so much to think about when having a baby. My mind has been swarmed with thoughts of everything I need to do to get ready for the baby to arrive. I've had "All day" sickness as opposed to morning sickness. I'm a high school teacher and throwing up in a trashcan in front of the class isn't very dignified. I am looking forward to the first trimester ending so that I can wake up without feeling sick to my stomach. I've had fun looking at names and trying to find just the right one! I go back and forth between wanting to know and not wanting to know the sex of the baby. Knowing makes it easy to shop but there's something exciting about not knowing.

March 17

We went last week for the second ultrasound. The first was done on Valentine's day and was done to make sure the baby had dropped to the right place since I have some ovarian issues. The ultrasound last week showed the baby playing - it was wiggling its legs and bouncing. It was crazy to see it do that because I can't feel it at all. The heart was beating and that made me feel so much better. I kept having these terrible thoughts that it was going to be still born or something. So, it was a good visit and helped put many of my fears at rest.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

About vitamins. I also want to add, that when I had my twins 16 years ago, I was 'natural health freak' and refused to take ANY medications including vitamins during pregnancy. I believed that all we eat should be natural and not in pills. They turned out just fine. But of course, I ate healthy food those days too.:)

Chelle, I have been worrying 24/7. I dream about bad things happening to the baby when I am sleeping and when I am awake I am constantly worried and searching the internet for symptoms etc. I do not get my US until the 19th but I am so afraid that the heart stopped beating as well.
It's amazing how much we worry already for these little babies.
Good luck with the US and let me know how it goes! :)

Hi there and Congrats!, I am pregnant for the first time to, and I also have those thought often. I haven't herd the heartbeat or seen my baby yet, I'm going tomorrow and I'm so scared that they're going to tell me that somthing looks wrong or I didn't take enough vitimans in the begining and the brain didn't develop prporly... Im not sure if its normal but I have those thoughts too.
