Monday, 6 October Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com
Hi there,
I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.
We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.
If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.
You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Thursday, 17 July i was at my doctors yesterday and when they were doing the heartbeat check she said "whoa that was a big contraction" and i said huh? i didnt feel anything... and she said it was a BH contraction. Here all this time i thought it was just the baby moving... like pushing her butt up int he front of my stomach but my doc insisted it was a BH contraction. I was int he same boat as you thinking im getting no where with this pregnancy because i havent had any contractions whatsoever so maybe you are having contractions you just dont know it = ) Oh and my friend told me that she would get pain in her leg and that was a contraction... i think alot of people think of contractions as an ovious bunching up in the front like a squeesing sensation when thats not always the case. Hope this helps. dasha -
Thursday, 17 July me too. completely in the dark. saw the doctor, and he said yesterday that the "doors were firmly closed", but still when they ask about contractions, I just don't know what to say....If contractions feel the way everyone has described them to me, I think I've had two in total, a week apart (yeesh!). Other than that, nada except some really nasty crampy shooting pains really really low, like you said about how it feels like he's moving his head or his arm up near his face.....but they're the kind of pains that stop you dead in your tracks and say "whooooooeeeeeeeeeeeee" until it goes away..... Wednesday, 9 July Of course everyone is different, but here's the experience I had that I posted a day or two ago.
"The exam was very uncomfortable for me. I haven't had intercourse for months so the initial 'hello' was very uncomfortable... I swear you'd have thought I was revirginized! Then he was trying to feel around to do the exam and my legs and body started shaking. They finally had me ball my fists up and put them under my hips to help me through the exam."
This was my experience, but I have problems with yearly paps. I nearly come off the table whenever the calipers are inserted, and I'm told they use the smallest calipers.
Hopefully your experience won't be as uncomfortable. MommyWonder -
Wednesday, 9 July I just had my first internal since my PAP the other day and it didn't hurt at all. There was a lot of pressure from my DR putting her hand way up there, but that's it. I've heard so many stories of people saying it hurts. I think everyone is different. I wouldn't go in thinking the worst. Mind over matter! imamommy -
Wednesday, 9 July It is like any other vaginal exam. Depends on how sensitive you are. I don't think it will hurt you. It is never nice having a doctor in there though. I hate it to be honest, it is good to know what is happening and it won't be long before it is all behind you. Doctors usually check between 37 and 39 weeks. I hope this information was of some help to you. mommy-of-3 -
Wednesday, 9 July No the basic exam where they "check you" doesn't hurt. It just feels like a lot of pressure because they have to reach so far up inside but they only use their hand not any instruments or anything. No worries. :) WolfeGrls -
Wednesday, 2 July I went through the same thing with my sister-in-law, unfortunately the baby was not thriving. She wound up loosing it on her on with in a couple days. It is a terrible thing to watch someone go through. Good luck to both. I wish it was better circumstances. AndreaB -
Wednesday, 2 July I had something eerily similar happen. I miscarried. Horrible news to share, I'm sorry. I couldn't let them take the baby until the baby really lost its life on its own, then had a D&C which they sent to a lab for a pathology report. If your friend wants detailed information on how/why it happened, she might want to consider requesting they send the "products of conception" to a lab for analysis. Only helpful thing I can think of. Again, so sorry. imamommy -
Wednesday, 2 July I'm really very sorry to hear this is happening to your friend. In my opinion this pregnancy may not be healthy. Last Summer this happened to me. I lossed my baby. It is very common but it is a very sad situation. Be as much as a friend as you can. I needed one when this happened. I'm now here with a miracle due any week, good luck to you. mel0215 -
Wednesday, 2 July I think what they are refering to as far as options will be wether or not she will just miscarry natural or take some type of medication to help it along. It sounds like with the size and heartbeat so low that a miscarriage is inevitable at this point. He may be waiting a week just to see what happens, but as far as options I think he is just refering to the pregnancy terminating:( So sorry for your friend, I will keep her in my prayers. mj -
