My Story

Well the beginning wasn't so nice. My pregnancy was unplanned. I had a "Friends with Benefits" relationship with my roommate. When I found out I was pregnant and told him, he wanted me to have an abortion and if I didn't he wanted nothing to do with the baby. Obviously he moved out when I was thinking about not terminating. I have decided to carry on with the pregnancy as I will be 33 on the 17th of January and this is my first child. I have not seen or heard from the father since he moved out.

I am now 16 weeks pregnant! I am looking forward to the future with or without the father being involved. I may have to get a lawyer to go after child support as I don't think he will be willing to offer it on his own.

I am going for my first ultrasound on the 20th of February. I can't wait!!

Well went for the ultrasound. It was really neat. My girlfriend who is also pregnant came with me. They won `t tell me the gender even if they could tell. Being alone I think knowing will really help me get things ready. I might go to a private clinic to find out.

My B belly is disappearing - i only noticed today. My bump seems to start right under my boobs (prob cause thats where the stomach is located now!! lol) I now look preg rather than fat like i have been looking. I know its bump when i try towash the dishes and have to stand sideways at the sink

That is so insane. Canadians don't have tendency to sue and no strong culture preference for one sex or the other (I'll give you that the demographics are changing but still)!

I guess only...19 or so weeks before you find out anyway!

I was just wondering if they gave you an ultrasound picture were you may be able to tell the sex for yourself?

Hi fellow Cannuck! I can't beleive they won't tell you the gender! Is it just the tech or even your doctor? I have lots of friends that found out the sex of their babies in Ontario and Quebec so it is not a generalized thing in Canada. Look into it!

the same thing happened to me, I called a sonographer school/ ultrasound tech school and they need volunteers and it was free and we found out our baby was a girl!

Wow, they don't normally tell you the gender??? I was also amazed to see that you have to go to a hospital to have an u/s. Who knew my neighbors to the north can be so different from me. :)

I am overweight and I have been with all my pg. (this is # 3) Check my page out. There is a couple belly shots up. There are ones when I was very pregnant with my son, you could see my waistline in between the fat and baby. lol. I know how you feel. I have always just felt fat until about 28 weeks. Oh well! Have you visited the plus size section in here? It's great for us bigger gals to chat there :) They understand all the goofy stuff we 'B' bumpers are talking about. If you haven't already, go introduce yourself. We love talking to other chubby girls ;P :) Your belly will get there. If my scanner weren't broken right now I would scan some of when I was pg with my daughter. You are going to look the same as me I bet. Take care :)

1ST OF ALL...DON'T BE SO HARD ON YOURSELF :)
YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND EVERY PREGNANT WOMEN HAPPENS TO CARRY THEIR BABY DIFFERENTLY.
I WAS OVER WEIGHT PRIOR TO MY PREGNANCY AND AT 22 WEEKS I STILL CAN NOT 'SEE'MY PREGNANT BELLY THE WAY 'I THINK' SHOULD LOOK. SAME AS YOU, I'VE GONE ONLINE AND HAVE NOT SEEN ONE BELLY THAT CAN CLOSELY RESUMBLE MINE.
I STAND IN FRONT OF THE MIRROR AND ALL I SEE IS MY BEEN CHUBBY. I WAS GOING TO TRY TO POST A NEW PIC TODAY SO I COULD HAVE OUR ONLINE PREGGOS GIVE THEIR VOTE BUT THE BATTERY IN MY CAM DIE...I DO HAVE ONE PIC WHILE I WAS ON WEEK 20 WHICH I TOOK RIGHT AFTER GETTING UP THINKING OH G...MY STOMACH IS EMPTY, HAVEN'T EATING ANYTHING SO WHAT I SEE SHOULD JUST BE MY PREGNANT BELLY...GUESS WHAT? I DON'T SEE PLUS I LATER ON REMEMBER HAVING A BIG, LATE MEAL.
I'LL SAY YOU TAKE A TUMMY PIC AND LET SOME OF US BE THE JUDGE :)...I THINK IT WOULD HELP. THEN AGAIN, YOU MAY NOT THINK YOU LOOK PREGNANT BUT TO OTHERS YOU MIGHT.

I am overweight as well but the further I am along the more it's obvious that is pregnancy and not just me getting fatter. My breasts are getting larger it seems by the day to keep me evened out. I'll post a side shot tonight so you can see that you aren't the only one. COngragulations and good luck!

I have to go to court for domestic stuff with my son's dad tomorrow. He abandoned him for 11 years, saw him a few times over the past year and I ended it due to bad consequenses... Has NEVER shown up to establish paternity and denies it only when money is involved and is now trying to get visitation without establishing custody or child support. I hope I get a reasonable judge that tells him to kiss off and establish paternity and Back Child Support because he is an imature and voilent person who has gotten away scott free for 11 years! So I say get Child Support early if you can!

Hello! I have been having terrible round ligament pain the past few days. With my first pregnancy I remember getting Charlie Horses where my leg meets my body..OUCH
I am thinking this might be similar to what is causing your numbness. Probably just pressure! Are you showing a lot? I also had a similar experience with raising my first alone, it wasn't to bad, especially if you get support, which I did not. Now I have to go for back support and all that BS. The dad of my son is a real Asshole! LOL Good luck on your US! Are you going to find out what you are having?

Congrats!!!! I get numbness feelings in my legs from time to time and in my face and hands. I am told the face is anxiety but the rest is due to pressure from the baby and or a pinched nerve. Good luck with everything:)
