For I know the plans that I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans for good and not for evil to give you a future and a hope.'

Jeremiah 29:11

In October, 2008 we found out that we were going to be parents. After a scary, uncertain first 12 weeks the reality that this little bean was going to be sticking around finally sank in. Two ultrasounds later we still don't know what our baby will be but we know it is healthy (if not a little scary looking - reminds us of skeletor!) with two arms and two legs, a nice spine (ever been complimented on how great your spine looks?), brain and heart - we are so thankful and every day we get to share in God's plan for this baby is a gift and a blessing.

We have ridden a rollercoaster of emotions together since October and though rollercoasters are always a little scary, they're also thrilling and exciting and most importantly, they always have a seat for two. I am so thankful that Blaine is in the seat beside me as we continue on our journey together and I know it's only going to get more exciting, and maybe a little scarier as we travel along it - together.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

I se your duedate passed but you don't have up any pics! What did you have? How was your labor? Congratulations!

Mommy@33 - Friday, 20 June
The contractions are just one part of preparing your body for birth, but yes, dilation is often associated with contractions. I'm sure you're having them even if you are not feeling them. Many times they will feel like cramping (menstrual cramps) before you start true labor. Even if you are not feeling them though, at this point in your pregnacy you will be having uterine movement/ contractions. 4cm is great! Many women get frustruated to be at a 4 and not really in active labor. But, typically the farther dilated you are before you actually go into a regular labor pattern the shorter and easier your childbirth experience. Be thankful!

Oh wow that's great! I'm really trying to enjoy this pregnancy now that I've gotten closer to my 2nd trimester. I probably won't have another ultrasound until I move and get a new doctor. But I had my 12-week appt today and the doc said everything is fine. She found the heartbeat and said it was 160, close to what I've been getting on the doppler!

babytauri - Wednesday, 11 June
I totally agree! I listen everyday though. Today the baby was playing hide and seek so I had to look for a little while, but I still found it! Any signs of labor for you?

Well, that's good to know. We still haven't decided on a name, and gave up trying to figure one out now. I think we are going to wait until we see the baby and hopefully we'll know then. Blaine is our front runner. Does anyone ever say anything about the magician David Blaine? HIs missing teeth story reminds me of when my ssecond graders misspell my name and write Mrs. O'Brain- it's O'Brien. But I love being Mrs. O'Brain- it makes me feel smart!

I just got it!!! I found the heartbeat after about 20 minutes! I was sooo relieved! The doppler showed 164 and it was just galloping away! Then he moved! LOL! I spent another 15 trying to find it again, but couldn't! He's in there playing games already (Oh, I say he because I sooo want a boy, even though with these higher heartbeats, I could be having a girl!) But knowing that I heard it atleast once made me feel alot better. I'll try again tonight, but I'll have it for the next 6 months! And you're right, being prayerful and trusting God is the BEST way to go, especially when you can't feel the baby this soon.

I read here in 13 weeks, that's when the placenta takes over? When did you stop your progesterone? My doc told me 10 weeks, now I'm a little nervous :(

Wow, your husband is the first person I've met with the name Blaine. We are considering that name, but because it is so rare, I'm a little hesitant. How does he like it, would he recommend it? Does he get any comments on his name? Anyone ever say Blaine's a pain or plain Blaine? Stupid, I know, but we think of those things.

Wow! Thanks! That's wonderful news and soooo reassuring! I haven't been spotting since mid-May and since stopping the suppositories, I've had some panic moments, and lots of tears, but more prayers than anything so I'm sure I'll be fine. Thanks sooooo much for your story! Yes, my life revolves around this baby- the next appointment, even looking forward to nausea and sore nipples! LOL! And I rented a doppler from babybeat.com. It should be here by Monday. I can't believe I didn't think to overnight it! Keep in touch and Congratulations!!!
