Hi everyone thought id udate everyone on how things are going so far,

I had quite a traumatic labour with my daughter and it took me a while to actually feel ready to try again for another baby,

It took us 2yrs to actually fall pregnant and we are really excited but because of everything that happened wiht my daughter im now seeing a midwife counseller throughout my pregnancy,

Im delivering at a smaller and better hospital,But still nervous,

I had an induction because of high blood pressure and it lasted a very long and very painfull 43hrs, and was assisted in the end as she had opened her bowls and her heart beat was dropping, (ill spare you the rest of the gory details)

Everything was ok in the end but i certainly dont want to go through it all again and have expressed my feelings and concerns to the midwife and were working together so im hoping this one will just fly out as soon as i arrive at the hospital,

I have suffered awful all day sickness, constipation, Backache, and also have a cyst on my right ovary which has been every painfull, I had a suspected ectopic pregnancy and a scan at 6 weeks found all was ok and a healthy baby was in the sac,

Ive just had my 12 week scan, The baby was lying across the bottom of my womb and kicking its legs like mad and it looked like it was also punching the air, She said she hadn't seen such an active baby before, As she went to do the measurements the baby Jumped up and flipped round very quickly we all laughed, so the baby was now standing on its head,

She took the measurements and gave us some pictures but because of the way the baby was doing its breakdancing on its head there not brill pics but we can make out whats what,

Im booked in for my next scan at 21 weeks, on 7th july at 2.45pm, Were hoping to find out the babys sex then aswell, and will be hopefully be booking a 4d scan for around the same time aswell,

Hi Claire
thanks for your message.
Well we never know what will happen until it happens.
All i can say is be strong and make sure your feelings and needs are well spoken about to the midwif=ves.
I am sure you are well infomred as i am now but the thing for me is a healthy baby - i see my doctor this thursday to talk about an early c section as now it looks like they may have to deliver the baby at 37 weeks due to the previous c section scar being to thin and at a dangerous level for my life and baby.
I am so excited to see my baby and as i am alsmost 36 weeks - time is almosr here for me and baby - horray horray i say

like i said all the best and i will be thinking of you

Hi.
I thought i would message you in regards to your questions on C sections.

I have had 6 children and 35 weeks pregnant with the 7th baby.
My first was induced 2 weeks over due - vaginal delivery, 2nd was vaginal delivery but major issues, 3rd was viginal delivery induced, 4th was viginal delivery , 5th was c section due to high blood preaseure and 6th was c section due to the other c section. I am having the 7th and last baby via c section 2 weeks early due to complications with my scar thinning which can be a problem with multiply c sections i have been told. I was in hospital on Saturday night with bad paid on the scar and the pain is at time unbarable - i am now having regular scans to make sure everything is ok with baby but so far so good.
I would not advise having a c section if you can avoid it - only because it effects the nect delivery and so on. I cannot have other children after this one or my life is in danger. I have to say though that me c sections were a nice experience - doctors were lovely and all went well just the 8 weeks recover was hard. good luck to you what ever as the end result is a healthy baby and mum

hi claire

just wanted to let you know my labor story is up on my blog...if your interested in a few more details on my c-section. did you decide anything yet?

carlaz08 - Sunday, 4 May
im glad to see you are able to communicate more with your "birthing aides" LOL...i have to say i give much credit to all women who give birth no matter how they go about it...those who have thier children natural are awsome brave (it would scare me half to death knowing what kind of pain id be staring at...even thou i had a c~sec with my first i was in labor several hours before they had to take her, and the pain was unreal) and i give props to those who have to have c~secs (speaking from experience, it is far from being easier than a natural, and is quite scary as well..but some moms dont have much choice)...in all fairness to all moms no matter how they give birth, it truly is a blessing (and my heart goes out to all those who struggle with complications not being able to concieve)...stop by from time to time and keep me updated :) ive got right at 2 1/2 weeks left...so im getting all my junk food cravings squeezed in and im taking as much advantage as possible!!!! LOL

Awe thank you!!! I think they may be able to go home within 2 to 3 weeks, They are gonna be 3 weeks old tomorrow!! I am so ready to bring my babies home!!! Be sure to keep me updated!!!

carlaz08 - Saturday, 3 May
hello :) i had an emergency c~sec with my first child (that was over 13 years ago LOOL) am currently preg again and my dr is going to take my baby via c~sec on the 19th of this month...he said that there are some risks (considering i had one c~sec due to fetal distress and some other issues...) im nervous about it this time around cause i wasnt prepped for it the first time, it was last minute and was over before i knew what happend...but this time i have had time to think about it and its pretty scary for me, but id rather go c~sec than natural labor to avoid the risks ive been told about...

Congrats to you also!!! Ive been feeling really good! Im lucky I havent had any morning sickness. I actually did call the doctor today, Im having some pain on my left side, I think I have a cyst or something, they didnt seem to concerned about it, so I guess i wont worry yet!

you had cysts on your ovaries? sounds very painful. Were they able to do anything about them while you're pregnant? Do you have to live with the pain for the whole pregnancy? You're birth for your 1st pregnancy sounds very similar to my last pregnancy. My BP was slightly high for the last few weeks and so I was being monitored closely and then at my last prenatal check, it jumped WAY up. So they sent me over to be induced and it was hell. My water broke at 1 CM and they everything stopped. No contractions, no more dilating, NOTHING. So they gave me higher doses of the meds and contractions came back but I wasn't dilating anymore. After about 11 hours her heart rate dropped WAY down so they called in the c-sec. team and it was going to be about 45 minutes but they didn't think she had that long, They brought in this very muscular ob doctor--he looked like an elderly body builder. He stuck his whole arm up me and dilated me BY HAND to 6 cm. Took about 30 minutes and the nurse said that had it not been for my epidural, I would have fainted from the pain....After I got to 6 cm, it went very quickly. She was only 6 lbs. 8 oz. so it wasn't hard to push her out and I didn't need the c-sec. afterall! Her cord was wrapped tightly around her neck so they think that's why her heart rate was dropping. She's had some complications and is on an apnea machine for precaution but it hasn't alarmed (other than false alarms) and she's doing well. Has reflux and is on meds for that but she's doing great now.

Take care of yourself! Hope your morning sickness is about done.

We haven't found out the sex of our first two, and won't for this one. My partner doesn't like to know till the end, he loves the suprise. I woulnd'nt mind finding out but i won't for him. My doctors appointment went good, but i didn't see my my usual doctor. I was hoping to see what the baby's heart beat was, but the doctor i saw won't tell you what it is. We have our scan on the 14th of may and i'll be 20 weeks, so i'll see what it is then. It cost's $190.00... Wow! Well i hope all is well...TTYL Amanda.

my2beautifulgirls - Wednesday, 30 April
Well i am glad it helped. Some people can really be negative about c-section, that doesn't help. It's how you make the experience for yourself. Just stay positive, and don't worry too much. I hope you get what you want! Good luck with your appointment and Let your doctor know what you want, and tell them about your story and they should understand.

I'm good thanks. I finallly get to see my doctor today!! Yay, it's only been 8 weeks since i seen one! Luckily i had a scan at 13 weeks for Downs, and i have been feeling bub move or i'ld be going insane. Are you finding out the sex of your bub? We arn't. TTYL.... Amanda

missjoli - Tuesday, 29 April
Thanks so much! Ditto! :)

my2beautifulgirls - Tuesday, 29 April
Wow, that must have been sooo upsetting for you! i can see why your asking questions about c-section. If i was you, i would talk to your doctor about your daughters birth and ask for a c-section if you would like one. I can't see why they would say no with what you went through with your daughters birth!! Just make it known what you want! C-section that is planned is easier. Every one is different with how they heal, and their pain thresholds. You will have a sore tummy for a while, but you can sit, and stand, and walk. If you end up having a c-section for this one, get out of bed when your allowed and walk around. Make sure you know what meds your supposed to have and ask for them when its time for your next dose, if they haven't bought them in for you. Fibre sachets are really good too, as they won't let you leave hospital till you have passed a stool, and are using the toilet regulary.(make sure you tell them when you have passed a stool)And its good to have family around aswell. I hope this helps Claire.

my2beautifulgirls - Monday, 28 April
Hi there, my name is Amanda and i have had two c-sections. My first was due to a failed induction and was an emergency. The second was an elective as my doctor bought me in to see if she could break my water for a VBAC, but i wasn't dilated at all and my cervix was tightly closed. They can't induced if you have had a previous c-section because of risk of rupturing your scar. I handled my recoverys very well, and was up walking around the following day. As long as you use your pain meds and take it easy. Your not supposed to drive for 6 weeks(i drove after 2 weeks with my doctors permission), or lift anything heavier than your baby. Your scar fades too. Recovery from a vaginal delivery is much quicker, i have heard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!! How was your daughter born? Congrats on your pregnancy!!

dionne - Monday, 28 April
Hi Claire!

Sounds like i had a similar experience as you did! Although i didn't have any doctors lose anything inside me...at least i don't think so lol! To tell you the truth i don't know what i would choose next time around (i can't even believe i even said next time lol) I think b/c i had actual contractions...you know the ones that you push to have a baby...but b/c i wasn't dilated i wasn't allowed to push i felt EVERYTHING and i honestly don't know how to even choose when the time comes. to answer your questions, its hard holding Vivian (thats her name) when i do hold her i hold her up high on my chest (which is also sore b/c i'm breastfeeding) when shes on the upper part of my belly it just totally messes up my insides! I do try to hold her as much as possible b/c i can't do much around the house...sometimes i'm in so much pain i really cant even hold her that well. and yes i am in alot of pain, i've been taking my pain medications so that i don't a min with out it....and when i don't take it when i'm suppose to i'm hunched over shuffling my feet (oh btw i've so swollen feet they hurt!!!). I do have to say that with the c-section you're bowl movements SLOW down and you can't eat anything while in the hosptial until you pass gas. i think my doctor and most other doctors use staples b/c of a few reasons, you can get them wet in the shower, and they might help keeping your scar nice looking. as soon as you figure out what your going to do, let me know i'd love to know the reasons why someone would choose one or the other....remember i need help choosing for next time (there i go again saying "next time" lol )

Let me know if you have any other question....i tell all some times its a little TMI but at least you'll know.

talk to you soon
-dionne
