Hi everyone thought id udate everyone on how things are going so far,

I had quite a traumatic labour with my daughter and it took me a while to actually feel ready to try again for another baby,

It took us 2yrs to actually fall pregnant and we are really excited but because of everything that happened wiht my daughter im now seeing a midwife counseller throughout my pregnancy,

Im delivering at a smaller and better hospital,But still nervous,

I had an induction because of high blood pressure and it lasted a very long and very painfull 43hrs, and was assisted in the end as she had opened her bowls and her heart beat was dropping, (ill spare you the rest of the gory details)

Everything was ok in the end but i certainly dont want to go through it all again and have expressed my feelings and concerns to the midwife and were working together so im hoping this one will just fly out as soon as i arrive at the hospital,

I have suffered awful all day sickness, constipation, Backache, and also have a cyst on my right ovary which has been every painfull, I had a suspected ectopic pregnancy and a scan at 6 weeks found all was ok and a healthy baby was in the sac,

Ive just had my 12 week scan, The baby was lying across the bottom of my womb and kicking its legs like mad and it looked like it was also punching the air, She said she hadn't seen such an active baby before, As she went to do the measurements the baby Jumped up and flipped round very quickly we all laughed, so the baby was now standing on its head,

She took the measurements and gave us some pictures but because of the way the baby was doing its breakdancing on its head there not brill pics but we can make out whats what,

Im booked in for my next scan at 21 weeks, on 7th july at 2.45pm, Were hoping to find out the babys sex then aswell, and will be hopefully be booking a 4d scan for around the same time aswell,

MONDAY 30TH JUNE 2008,

Just a quick update, ive got my scan booked for friday 11th july and we will be also having a 3d/4d scan on 16th august, we will deff be finding out the babies sex, My Daughter wants a sister,

My sister found the postition of the baby and heart beat though i do that bit myself aswell with her doppler( shes training midwife) baby is very active and kicking me all day non stop which is good,

Ive now got my Pram/pushchair and loads of other baby things, love the cute baby blankets and suits weve brought,Take care everyone, xxxxxxxxxx

Just had my 21 week scan and its a girl.xxxxxxxxxxxxx

We haven't found out the sex of our first two, and won't for this one. My partner doesn't like to know till the end, he loves the suprise. I woulnd'nt mind finding out but i won't for him. My doctors appointment went good, but i didn't see my my usual doctor. I was hoping to see what the baby's heart beat was, but the doctor i saw won't tell you what it is. We have our scan on the 14th of may and i'll be 20 weeks, so i'll see what it is then. It cost's $190.00... Wow! Well i hope all is well...TTYL Amanda.

Well i am glad it helped. Some people can really be negative about c-section, that doesn't help. It's how you make the experience for yourself. Just stay positive, and don't worry too much. I hope you get what you want! Good luck with your appointment and Let your doctor know what you want, and tell them about your story and they should understand.

I'm good thanks. I finallly get to see my doctor today!! Yay, it's only been 8 weeks since i seen one! Luckily i had a scan at 13 weeks for Downs, and i have been feeling bub move or i'ld be going insane. Are you finding out the sex of your bub? We arn't. TTYL.... Amanda

Wow, that must have been sooo upsetting for you! i can see why your asking questions about c-section. If i was you, i would talk to your doctor about your daughters birth and ask for a c-section if you would like one. I can't see why they would say no with what you went through with your daughters birth!! Just make it known what you want! C-section that is planned is easier. Every one is different with how they heal, and their pain thresholds. You will have a sore tummy for a while, but you can sit, and stand, and walk. If you end up having a c-section for this one, get out of bed when your allowed and walk around. Make sure you know what meds your supposed to have and ask for them when its time for your next dose, if they haven't bought them in for you. Fibre sachets are really good too, as they won't let you leave hospital till you have passed a stool, and are using the toilet regulary.(make sure you tell them when you have passed a stool)And its good to have family around aswell. I hope this helps Claire.

Hi there, my name is Amanda and i have had two c-sections. My first was due to a failed induction and was an emergency. The second was an elective as my doctor bought me in to see if she could break my water for a VBAC, but i wasn't dilated at all and my cervix was tightly closed. They can't induced if you have had a previous c-section because of risk of rupturing your scar. I handled my recoverys very well, and was up walking around the following day. As long as you use your pain meds and take it easy. Your not supposed to drive for 6 weeks(i drove after 2 weeks with my doctors permission), or lift anything heavier than your baby. Your scar fades too. Recovery from a vaginal delivery is much quicker, i have heard. If you have any questions, feel free to ask!! How was your daughter born? Congrats on your pregnancy!!

Hi Claire!

Sounds like i had a similar experience as you did! Although i didn't have any doctors lose anything inside me...at least i don't think so lol! To tell you the truth i don't know what i would choose next time around (i can't even believe i even said next time lol) I think b/c i had actual contractions...you know the ones that you push to have a baby...but b/c i wasn't dilated i wasn't allowed to push i felt EVERYTHING and i honestly don't know how to even choose when the time comes. to answer your questions, its hard holding Vivian (thats her name) when i do hold her i hold her up high on my chest (which is also sore b/c i'm breastfeeding) when shes on the upper part of my belly it just totally messes up my insides! I do try to hold her as much as possible b/c i can't do much around the house...sometimes i'm in so much pain i really cant even hold her that well. and yes i am in alot of pain, i've been taking my pain medications so that i don't a min with out it....and when i don't take it when i'm suppose to i'm hunched over shuffling my feet (oh btw i've so swollen feet they hurt!!!). I do have to say that with the c-section you're bowl movements SLOW down and you can't eat anything while in the hosptial until you pass gas. i think my doctor and most other doctors use staples b/c of a few reasons, you can get them wet in the shower, and they might help keeping your scar nice looking. as soon as you figure out what your going to do, let me know i'd love to know the reasons why someone would choose one or the other....remember i need help choosing for next time (there i go again saying "next time" lol )

Let me know if you have any other question....i tell all some times its a little TMI but at least you'll know.

talk to you soon
-dionne
