My husband and I are expecting our first child in September and are overwhelmed w/ excitement! We're counting down the days until we can finally meet our little creation.
We decided to start trying in September of 07' and were not expecting to get pregnant so quickly. We actually chatted during Christmas that we'd like to take another trip and made the decision to stop trying or hold off for another 6 months or so. Well, while we were having that conversation we had no idea that I was pregnant at the time. The news was a shock but we're both very happy!

41.9 hours ago that is just inscane!! i can't beleive how drastically differnet things are from place to place. the only thing insurance wise i have to pay is for my benefit pkg for my prescriptions. for my whole family (which will include baby) it is about $12.00 a month, my employer covers 95% of the prescriptions cost through our benefits. plus my bf's plan covers the other 5% generally, so most time we dont pay at all. i feel bad for you that is a lot of money.
i am doing ok this week is better than last week. i feel like a b**** most days...cranky oh well. my feet/legs are still the same - big and swollen. the baby is pressing hard at the front of my belly and that is making it difficult to breathe and get around sometimes. how are you feeling? 43.1 hours ago Oh wow! do they really gain a half a pound a week before delivery? If that is the case then I'm worried!!! I'm actually going for a 3d ultrasound on Saturday so I'm sure I will get an estimate on how much the baby weighs then. If it weighs more than yours does now I'm definitely having some drugs at birth cuz I still have 8 weeks to go!!.. LOL.
I do not blame you one bit for limiting your work before 1 pm..that would for sure be the safest thing for you and baby. You MUST drink a lot of water??!!! I drink tons of water now and it's not as hot here as it is where you live.
Seriously if it was not for my bf I would definitely find out the sex....especially now since we are going to that ultrasound!! But it is soo much more special without knowing as well...ugh...See? I just go back and forth with this whole topic...lol.
Thanks, I am feeling well today. I'm over visiting with my mom and vegging out watching tv. How are you today? besides being hot obviously....they should make maternity wear with built-in air conditioning!!! That would be quite a seller I think...
Hope your good and having a lovely week as well!

Wednesday, 23 July everyone on our week is also talking about insurance costs and hosptial bills. none of that even crossed my mind. we have 100% coverage here for anytype of medical issue that arises. the hopsital/doctors office just bills the government, we just need a valid OHIP card. that would really suck to have to worry about that on top of everything else. makes me love it here even more now.
how are you feeling? CanadianNat -
Tuesday, 22 July Wow! it must be kinda nice to know the exact day that your baby will be here?! That heat really sucks. It is nowhere near that hot here but I'm sure if I went there for a visit I would die cuz I can't handle this heat and it's only in the 30's. It would be hard to handle that job you have....your constantly on the go outside driving from house to house to show ppl aren't you? That would be tiring as well...don't know how you do it.
We are not finding out the sex of our baby until it gets here. It is hard for me not to know but it will be that much more special when that day comes too. I found out today that the doctor thinks that I'm having a big baby...ouch!! I really hope that I will be able to deliver a big baby naturally.
Take care!! you only have like 48 more days until your baby arrives!!

Monday, 21 July omg that sucks. in canada we get 12 months no matter what!!!!! i couldnt handle going back after a few weeks. i feel bad for you. CanadianNat -
Monday, 21 July Thank you!!! That would be great of you. Everything is well and going pretty smoothly with me. The only thing that is bothering me is the heat here..ugh.
How about you? Are you feeling good so far? CanadianNat -
Saturday, 19 July Hello! I was on one of my added friends page and seen that you had wrote about some houseplants being poisonous to newborns? I'm sorry to snub my nose in there but I'm just wondering if you would be nice enough to share what kind they were? Thanks...and I hope your feeling great with the last trimester of your pregnancy.

Saturday, 19 July I know. I thought about you alot when you told me about your cyst. Heck, we have been in touch for several months now. This site really helped me through my pregancy. I plan to stay on this site in the Baby section. You should, too!!!
I promise to stay in touch and let you know little William's progress. They already have him doing social breastfeeding with me! He isn't mature enough to know how to suck and swallow, but he does "pretend". That is great news that he is doing it so soon.
Motherhood is AWESOME and worth every ache and pain. I know you have probably heard it a thousand times, but seriously...there is nothing like it. My husband, who NEVER cries, gets teary eyed every time we go to visit him. You will fall in love with your hubby all over again...it's wonderful.
Take care and I will talk to you soon. I plan on posting updates every week, or so. : )

Saturday, 19 July i want to take a cpr course as well, i will be looking into that...i am paranoid about stuff like that :S
my ob doenst say much because there is nothing that can be done really. my blood presure is fine and you cant take meds while pregnant for swelling...so i will just suffer. i am done work in 3.5 weeks, then 4 weeks holidays, then baby (12 month mat leave) so it will be ok in the end. how long do u get off for mat leave? 0919mommi2b -
Saturday, 19 July WOW! I would be so nervous too!. My dr says at 38 weeks we will then asses our options. AGH! I too am doing well. Cant believe how the time is flying! Have my shower the 2nd. I really cant wait! Will be at Olive Garden Yum. With red velvet cake. I am counting down the days.. 0919mommi2b -

Friday, 18 July What do you learn at baby basics class? Is that to prepare you for labour?
I am sore still. No matter what I do everything from the top of my legs down just kill. I hope the last bit goes fast.
Will they be taking out the cyst when you have the c-section? bowling4 -
Thursday, 17 July Well, i ended up in having preterm labor and delivered a beautiful baby boy on Sunday. He was 4 lbs 4 oz. He is doing GREAT! I feel great also. He will have to stay in the NICU for at least 4 weeks until he can learn to suck and swallow, but he is breathing on his own and digesting his food as expected. I actually pump milk and they feed him through a tube. I posted a few pics of him!
I just have to tell you that being a mother is amazing. I can't wait for you to experience it. All the pains and weight gain was totally worth it!!! I promise to keep you posted on little William. You take care of yourself. : ) ML28 -
Thursday, 17 July September 8!! That is so soon. I guess its only 8 days before your due date as it is...but yeah, time is flying. Glad you have found a way to get your swelling under control. ML28 -
Monday, 14 July how are you doing? my feet/legs kill and are SO swollen. its hard to walk.
i added some pics of the nursery so far. take a look if u have a minute. bowling4 -
Saturday, 12 July Well, you will never guess what happened to me? i went into pre-term labor on Thursday. I have been in the hospital for 3 days now. They managed to get the contractions under control, but my cervix is still thin (1cm). I am going to be on bedrest for the duration of my pregnancy. They gave me 2 doses of steroids just in case I deliver in the next few weeks. I just hope I make it to week 35! My little boy is 4 lbs already and is doing great! That makes me feel alot better.
Anyway, i am just sitting here in my hospital bed and thought I would drop you a line. Hope your pregnancy has been less eventful these last couple of weeks. : )
Talk to you soon.... firsttimemominsc -
Thursday, 10 July I know what you mean. I kept asking if she was sure that he didn't have a hand pointing down that direction and she wasn't looking at a finger! She assured me that it was boy parts, and every sonogram since then he has been sure to show us that he was a boy!!! Congrats to you too and hope everything goes well for you. firsttimemominsc -

This is absolutely beautiful! I am soooo excited to be having a little boy in Sept but sometimes I think it would be more fun to decorate for and dress a girl. We are doing our nursery in cars and trucks and airplanes. It will be cute I know. Congrats on your bundle of joy!!!! bowling4 -
Wednesday, 2 July Thanks! I can really tell that I gained in my face though. Although, looking back at all of my friends pregnancy photos...it is expected.
I didn't even realize you were having a C-Section. There is something to be said about that. To me, I don't think it matters how the baby is born...as long as it is healthy. I told my sister that if I end up with a 9 lb baby...I am opting for a C-section!!!
Keep me posted on any updates. I start my two week visits, too. I am getting kinda anxious about the whole thing. I am still not clear about my maternity leave from work. I have talked to 3 different people already and I still don't know that the hell is going on!! I am not even sure what I am going to do about daycare yet. The only thing I have done is pre-register for my delivery and I also registered for Childbirth classes.
I think I am going to schedule a massage next week. I need one BAD!
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!

Monday, 30 June We are going with a nautical theme. I put a picture of the nursery bedding on my profile. We are painting the room dark navy blue and khaki though. The white and light blue is a bit too bright for me.
“Loads” of baby laundry? Wow…I only have 4-5 outfits and 8 onesies. I did wash them already though. I hear ya about being ready. I feel like there is so much to do!!! I already pre-registered at the hospital, scheduled my birthing classes, and started to document my birthing plan. 4 of 5 of my friends delivered more than 3 weeks early this year. I want to make sure I am prepared!!
Yes, I am swelling and it is annoying. Good thing I work from home. We have wireless internet, so if I have to I can work on my laptop from the couch! I have been trying to walk 20 minutes a day (at least), but it is becoming a lot harder to do. I feel like my bladder is going to explode after walking about 15 minutes. Very strange.
I posted some of my maternity “proofs” on my profile. I have a tattoo on my navel…they are going to airbrush it off (thank god for photoshop!!). Let me know what you think.
You have a great week, too!! Try to stay cool. It is only in the low/mid 70's here - I have been very lucky this summer!

Friday, 27 June hey how are you doing? i just had my apt everything is good. my belly grew three cm in a month and i didnt gain any weight for once!!! that is worth celebrating!!! 0919mommi2b -
Thursday, 26 June Most of the time yes I am uncomfortable. I spend lots of time flipping from left side to right side at night trying to sleep. During the day I sit at a desk so my belly gets real round feeling and sore. Plus she is very active so I get lots of pokes prods and elbows constantly. But I cnt complain about it she is just letting me know she is in there. Which theme are you going with in your baby's room?
