Saturday, 19 July What a great score! That's awesome that you found someone who just wants to pass stuff along. I find that there are a lot of moms who just want to pass along their stuff because a) they are nice and b) it clears up their house! ONce I'm done having babies I plan on giving everything away too! christie78 -

Friday, 18 July I plan on signing. I am not sure when to start. I have a book and you just reminded me to read it!

Friday, 18 July Yes, I am and plan on signing to my lil man. He's picking some of the signs I have been teaching him. "milk", "mama", and "dada" he seems to know when I sign already. He also seems to sign "eat/food" himself. I think it's still more of a reflex yet, but he signs "eat" when he's hungry and so I make a bottle and sign "milk" and he's happy and eats. I'll introduce more signs soon. www.signingtime.com has an awesome series/program. I love it, and that's what I will start watching with Trystian once he's grown a bit more. No TV for a little while for him... But I'll be honest, I learn so much from watching it myself. When babies start learning cause and effect, usually around 2 1/2 - 3 months, then they will start putting signs that you make with the objects that they get. Babies also fine tune thier moter skills much faster than their communication skills/verbal so babies have so much potential to learn the sign faster than the word. You dont even have to use American Sign either, you could have "home signs" for things. The object is to use the sign right before, during and after the activity or object. For example, Sign "milk" (take your hand, hold it out in front of you and open and close it into a lose fist. Kinda makes you think of milking a cow...) Make the motion for milk, and say it. Then make the milk, or give the milk to baby. Sign the word milk again as baby starts drinking milk. Then again as you finish drinking milk.
www.signingtime.com is a good resourse. I'll be it it's a little pricey... but they are really good programs. You can usually find the series in the library so that you dont have to buy them. YouTube has some videos of signing time as well. Do a search on the web and there's tons that pop up for signing with babies.
I hope that helps a little bit. Please if you have any questions or concerns, let me know. :) I'll be happy to help you out. :)

Thursday, 17 July Hi! I saw your post on the 3 month page. My daughter Sofia Isabella was born on April 23, so she won't be 3 months until next week, July 23 but if you count it in weeks, yesterday she turned 12 weeks. We decided to weigh and measure her at home yesterday since she won't be going back to the pediatrician until her 4 month well check. At 12 weeks, she was 17 lbs and 25 inches long. I couldn't believe it because at her 2 month visit which was on June 26, she weighed 15 lbs 12 oz and was 24 1/2 inches long. She is off the charts. She was a big baby at birth though, when she was born, she weighed 10 lbs 13 oz and was 21 3/4 inches long. She is a big, strong, healthy girl. She is exclusively breastfed. Your baby Summer is absolutely gorgeous. Check out my Sofia!!! Keep in touch! busybeemom -

Wednesday, 16 July Hi - thanks for your comments! I loved reading your story, and Summer is a doll. Hubby and I are going to be flying to Ireland soon with Michael to visit the inlaws... I'm going to definitely take your flying tips to heart!
Your Mommy and Me Pilates sounds interesting. I've been looking for a mommy and me exercise class here in Indianapolis and haven't been able to find one, so a DVD would work great for me. Traviesa -
Wednesday, 16 July thanks ma...he gets cuter by the day!!!! He's a knockout!!!lol Traviesa -

Tuesday, 15 July OMG(sh) I can't get a minute to myself! AHHHHHGGGG!! Ok, quickly before a blow up occurs. You had me sold/packed and on my way to Hawaii. Until......the bugs. Ok, so, now I remember why I still live in Ilinois. (setting aside the nasty mosquitos and the cold, ick) I have yet to find the "perfect" place. I keep feeling like now is the time to go if we're going to go. I have one little problem....my ex. He would die if I took his kids out of the state. My first four are not Paul's. Anyway, you have the perfect paradise...minus THE BUGS. I couldn't do it. I'm a pretty tough girl but bugs and stuff. Yuck. I passed on Texas (which I really love) because of the insects and whatnot. So, do you worry about tsunami's or hurricanes at all? My ex and I went on a cruise and a couple of the islands we stopped at had been nailed by hurricanes. The devastation was terrible and so sad. It was heartbreaking.
You said your brother was somewhere out here by me right? Do you ever get to visit him? It would be so hard to be so far from all of my sibs. Everyone is in Illinois from my family except my dad and one of my brothers. My dad is in Texas and my brother is in Indiana. I have 3 brothers and one sister, a mom, stepmom, dad and stepdad (he passed away in 1995) and two step brothers whom I despise.
Tell me about Pilates. What is it? What are the benefits? Right now I'm walking on my treadmill a minimum of 30 minutes every day and weightlifting (bowflex and free weights) every other day. I only rest on Sunday. I ordered Beach Body's Turbo Jam for a little change up. I like to have a little variety in my workouts. Maybe I could order your dvd. I don't know enough about it, so, send me some info about it, k? Give Summy a big squeeze Talk to ya soon-Amy
(that's for all of the sunshine you get!!)
