Hello, my name is Marisela. I'm a 27 year old mother to two daughters. I also had a son December 2006. He passed when he was just two days old. We found out he had a really serious heart problem when I was around 20 weeks along. I was given three choices. #1 was to have an abortion. #2 was to give birth to him and let him live as long as he could without any surgery and such. #3 was to do surgery as soon as possible when he was born. We chose number 3. He had surgery, made it out and was doing great. His little heart gave out that night. We went through a lot with Zachary passing. I still blame myself for him being sick at times. It's really hard. Now, i'm 9 weeks pregnant and i'm scared out of my mind. This baby wasn't planned. We were unsure if we wanted to have another because we don't think we can handle losing another child. Since Zachary's heart problem was a fluke, they doubt that this baby will have any problems. I'm trying to think positive right now, but it's hard at times. All we can do is wait and pray for this baby's health. OOps.... i almost forgot to mention my husband. lol His name is Adrian. We've been together (off and on) going on 6 years this March. We're going on 6 months of marriage. It's been great. He's the father of my three year old, Zachary and the baby that's on the way. He's 6 years younger than I am. lol I get teased a lot about that.

27 Weeks:

I've been feeling pretty okay so far. I have started getting nauseous all over again, especially when I brush my teeth. I had an appointment yesterday and I gained 2 lbs. within the last month which is a good thing because I had gained 29 lbs. already. I'm at a total of 31 lbs and hoping not to gain too much more. They did my glucose test which is REALLY gross!!! I drank it all in one big drink to prevent myself from gagging. lol Hopefully everything turns out okay. I was told way back that I had an amniotic band going accross my uterus. It was causing me to have a lot of cramping and bleeding. It could have caused a lot of complications for baby, even death. I was worried out of my mind. I've had numerous ultrasounds to keep an eye on my condition and the band was there everytime. I had another ultrasound last week and it shows baby is growing fine and the amniotic band is gone. It vanished. I thank God for this. My doctor was very excited as well. My baby boy is growing like a weed and all is fine. They're going to continue monitoring me closely until I delilver just to be on the safe side.
