Well i had my baby girl march 18th/2008, was suppose to be due march 11/2008, but she didnt come willingly, i had to be induced, with the strip put inside. i went in on tuesday march 18th to be induced at 8 am. it didnt take right away, they kept me for an hour and sent me home and told me to come back if i had 6 contraction in less then 10 minutes, well i did at 11 am. i went back to the hospital. they put me on the monitor and i was havin contractions 2 minutes apart, but not as strong, but they were, it was all i mean mostly back labour i had.. they checked me, and i was 1 cm dialated. i was complained in the nurse that i felt pullin down there. they checked me, and the cervidil fell out, so i then went to walk around the hospital for a bit, waiting for it to get worse. i needed a drink so i told my sister and my boyfriend i was going back to the labour and delivery room and my sister was getting my cup of water and my water broke. thank god i was in the room. haha. after that contractions got worse. and they wanted to test me to make sure it was my water. because it wasnt a gush it was dribble and it was green. she pooped inside me. they wanted to check me again i was still 1 cm and like 1 pm. and then i waiting around in pain from all the back labour, it was horrible i couldnt sit or anything. so i had to do a slow dance thing to help. they checked me again around 4-5 pm, and i was 4 cm dialated. i was so happy, thats mean i could get some pain relief. i tryed the laughing gas. and that did nothing for me, i couldnt breath, so i need the air mask, then they told me i could have the epidural, but we had to wait a bit of the dr to come and do it. i will tell you what a rude as bitch that gave me the epidural. it took them 6 trys with the wrong needle.(to small) to give me the epidural, and finally about an hour or half hour they got it in. and then they checked me again and i was 10 cm dialated, but i wasnt aloud to push and had to wait for the doctor another 2-3 hours. and pushed for little less then an hour. i had her at 9 pm that night.

They dont classify labour here until you are 4cm dilated. so i was lucky.. after having her, i bled alot, pph, they had to give me the shot in the leg with that needle twice, plus 3-4 other medications for it.

i was fine after a few hours laying in my own blood etc, i was able to get up and the next morning they to the iv off with the meds and gave me another one with the need. i was released the next day at 5 pm the next day. bleeding was good. not heavy, just really light. i went back to the doctors 3 days later because i had a bad odour and they prescribe me a medication, well then that went away, 3 weeks post partum, april the 9th i had heavy bleeding again., the doctor gave me another medication thinkin its an infection. that didnt do nothing, didnt help the bleedin lessen, i then went back to the doctors and 2 other doctors, figured it was a little weird, that the bleedin hasnt stop and its getting worse., they said the only way they are gonna rule out if its an infection or whatever they would try and rush and ultrasound. so i had the internal and regular ultrasound, only to be told, i have to wait for a week for results. well screw that. i was passin large blood clots, with gushes of blood fillin a bad in less then a hour, the first time with with 2 large blood clots and fillin a pad in 10 minutes. so it continue and continue, i couldnt go anywhere, do anything, i went up to emergency for the bleeding, just to be turned down, by to nurses that no nothing, all they said it was normal. and i told them, it wasnt and the first doctor said its not at 3 weeks postpartum. so anyway, i went home. the next day the doctor that i seen before, said they would get the results faxed up, so they did that. and they found that my uterus/cervix was thick. they had to consult a better doctor. a top gyno doc, so i had to wait down at the clinic until the one doctor was availible to call back the doctor. and my doctor is on holiday, she a top gyno to. so they got ahold of the doctor, and he wanted me at the hospital right away, well what they didnt tell me was not to eat. and stuff. so i went up at 12 pm on april 16th, for a d&c they couldnt do it until later that night because i ate. so i had to wait till 8 pm for the D&c to be done, They found a peice of placenta still inside me. which was good that they caught because i could of bled to death from it. And im still thinking about putting a complaint in about the nurses at the hospital that night. its not like i hang in emergency for nothing. i had the d&c, i feel way better now, and im not to sure if i wanna see the same doctor as i was seeing for my baby girl. because they are suppose to make sure its all out, but i dont think they did, and im not sure if want any more kids after this, i didnt get to enjoy the first month of having my doctor because this crap. it was a retained placenta that i had. and it was secondary postpartum hemmroage that i had....

I dont know how early the stiches should come out, but I would deffinately call your dr and ask. I had a horrible tear and my stiches came out too early, I thought no big deal, WRONG. I never healed right and I never will. Things down there will never be the same. I mean it's not open, but it's not right.

kim123 - Monday, 17 Mar
Hi, good luck to you, hopefully that was the start of labor!

vixplusone - Sunday, 16 Mar
Hi, thanks for your question. When i was laboring I felt distracted by the need to take a dump, so I asked for an enema to clear me out so I could focus on managing the pain of the contractions. I had had a huge meal the night before, so I knew I was due for a BM, but the enema also insured that the baby wouldn't be covered in it when he was born! Good luck with your delivery!

I was in calgary but had to move to edmonton when I couldn't find a resionably priced place to live. Everyone here seems to be from the states

Ha- let's have a birthing race! LOL

You've already got the head start!

Good luck to you! I can't wait to hear how it goes!

nienna - Saturday, 15 Mar
I'm getting induced on Sunday. I really feel for you having to have to wait until you're a week over-due! I got lucky, I guess you could say, because I get to go a week early... What's not so lucky is the fact that my baby is over the 10lb mark already and could be pushing 11lbs!

I hope everything goes good for you!

joemamma - Tuesday, 4 Mar
It's probably ok if you're not bleeding. But I'd call the doc regardless.

CaseyLynn - Tuesday, 4 Mar
I would get checked out anyway being this close to the end and all. I hope everything is ok though.

nienna - Thursday, 28 Feb
Still no baby eh? Hopefully soon! Good luck!

Hey I'm same as you - no contractions, no crampings, nothing! The baby is engaged but that's my only indicator. I'm in Australia and they don't check to see if you're dilated here either.

laurapreggo - Tuesday, 19 Feb
My doc won't check until 39 weeks to see if I'm dilated at all either, and I haven't had any bh's, just a little menstrual crampy every ONCE in while... i feel like im going to go overdue too and I really don't want to, since I'm so uncomfortable! Hopefully we'll be the first ones to go though :) HAng in there

jscottn401 - Thursday, 14 Feb

Glad it's not just me (about the groin pain)! My hips are 'popping' all the time, I guess all you can do is laugh about it. I feel like I'm 80 years old though...starting to hobble around.. LOL.

missnana - Thursday, 31 Jan
Hi there and congrats! You are due the day before me-goodluck! 34 weeks and counting...

bellybumbles - Thursday, 31 Jan
yea, i don't think it's anything to worry about. I actually had a pretty bad bladder infection and didn't know-the doc said it can be masked in pregnancy and not have any of the pain it usually would. They told me because there was blood in my urine, but i never noticed any. I wonder if it could be from your cervix softening or something? Have fun at the docs :)

olga83 - Monday, 21 Jan
Yeah, I don't really believe doctors because they often just generalize everything. I had terrible kidney pain in my first trimester and they kept sayin that it was ligament pain and it's normal. After I went there like 5 times arguing that it was kidney pain, they finally ordered some tests and found out that my kidneys were having some reaction but they didn't find to what. But my point is that they were telling me all the time that it was ligament pain and it wasn't. So I didn't really believe my doctor when she said that the pain I experience 'down there' is just baby pressing against my pelvis sometimes and it's normal. I wouldn't be too surprised if I go into labor at 35-37 weeks and what I experience now are the signs of preterm labor!

jscottn401 - Saturday, 12 Jan
hickupsss... its not a kick but a constant feeling every like 2 seconds and i feel it moreee in ur lower stomache... if its constant its the hickups

kim123 - Saturday, 12 Jan
Hi, my baby gets hiccups at least 3 times a day. It feels very subtle, hard to feel on the outside of the belly. On the inside, it feels like sudden movements that are frequent. My baby's sometimes last 30 minutes straight!

margiemom - Saturday, 12 Jan
imaginehow a hiccuping baby sounds ,,,, that is really about how it feels, like soft rhythmic little thumps.

Erin4 - Saturday, 12 Jan
yes, it is a more faint feeling that is consistant. Feels like little taps, usually below the belly button. They seem to have them quite often too!
