13 weeks belly!!!

Me and my boyfriend!! :)

11/08/2007

I went to the doctor yesterday to do the first trimester screening for Down syndrome… I had an ultrasound and I saw the baby moving around… sucking his thumb… playing with his mouth… it was the cutest thing ever!!! According to the u/s everything looks really good and the chances at 1/2500, I also got a blood test that will be ready next week the doctor said it should lower or increase the chance, but according to his prospective looks really good!! Thank God! I was so nervous!! The baby spread his legs apart and I think it's a boy, the lady would not confirm to us because she said she is not allowed before 16 weeks!! But she laughs when I said: it's a boy I saw the little thing!! Ahahahah Does anyone found out the sex yet? Apparently in the US they won't tell you until the 16th week because it's not very accurate!! :( But I'm pretty sure it's a boy, I'm so excited!!!

11/17/2007

Just come back from the us clinic!! It's a boy!!! IN the first 5 seconds she could see the male organs already! I was right, I knew it was a boy!!! I"m so excited!!! I got several pictures of his male organs, he showed to us many times!! It was so cute!!!!!

My baby boy 14 weeks old! Mommy loves you already!!!

Look how cute, we can see his nose already!!!

18 weeks!! I'm getting big!!!!!

I'd like to think I'm brave but really I had no say in the matter. I'm just so glad I had him vaginally and we were there for it and and he is healthy. I know, I was not expecting the blond hair but Scott was blond until he was about 8 yrs old. Isn't motherhood wonderful? I'm not breastfeeding, are you? My milk is finally drying up and I am not so engorged. How are you feeling? How's Mikey? Have you been on the Babies website yet?

PRETTIEST MOM
Once you have been hit, you have to hit 5 pretty Moms.
If you get hit again, You will know you are REALLY pretty!
So hit 15 pretty moms on your friends list to let them know they are
pretty!
Before I was a Mom
I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on.
I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom
I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.
I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her
down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop
the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom -
I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.
I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important
and happy.
Before I was a Mom -
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to
make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the
wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.
Send this to someone who you think is a special Mom.''

I had a bad cold and sinus pressure .. I totally felt like crap .. I am getting over it now.. I drank the nursing mom tea while my cold was horrid and I saw a difference in 2 days my bobs were fuller and I pump out more milk.. I was drinking 2 times a day of the tea one morning and one before bed time.. I am going to back off it a bit though because I am making alot and getting full too quick lol.. I have my first post appointment tomorrow.. going to leave baby with my husband i have my cell phone just in case .. how are you doing?

That is great! breast milk is so much better for them .. glad he is drinking and being calm.. When you see he is not on the breast long and is happy with just a few minutes and doesn't take more breast you can pump.. what I do is I grab my breast to see how full they are (after she feeds) and if they seem full I pump.. I don't empty the breast because she might want some in the next hour so I pump what I can and if I see the milk slowing down when I use the pump I stop.. I use the same container since she takes about 3 ounces of milk in the bottle so I store whatever...before I had to store 4 ounces or less at a time because she was not drinking much and when I thawed the milk we are only to use it within 24 hours.. I didn't know that I remember taking out an 8 ounce frozen bag of breast milk and I made about I think it was 7 bottles thinking they can last long in the fridge.. it was my mistake I was about to feed her a bottle when something told me to smell it and it was spoiled! I was so upset but thank God I didn't give her any of it that was left their for a few days.. Now I am cautious sort of have to be obsessed about the whole breast feeding thing to get things right lol! I take out a 4ounce or 6 ounce bag ( since she drinks about 3 ounces sometimes less) and I know it has to be used within 24 hours after that it has to be thrown away..sometimes I don't get to feed her the bottle and wind up tossing it.. I don't worry about the bottle feeding her that much but it is good to know there is some milk in the fridge just in case her dad wants to feed her or I just want to pump ..or I have to run out of the house.. I store milk from the whole day together it can be anywhere from 2 ounces on up..depending on if I pumped that day..sometimes I dedicate the day to strictly breast and only pump when I need to (too full or she didn't drink much)..than store. I noticed she was fussy and gassy probably from what I ate so I drank chamomile tea throughout the day and BF her as usual ..let me tell you it worked wonders!! She was calm and slept a bit longer through the night.. I researched and heard it calms them down and clears their gas..plus it boost the production in milk for the mom! who knew!! lol! I sound obsessed with the whole breastfeeding thing but one thing I know is my baby is happy.. I love the feeling of having her close to me ..loving the fact that I am providing her with the nourishment of my milk.. so many positive things about it ya know.. dang I took up your whole page lol!! Let me how the fenugreek is working.. I still have to run to the health store and get my set of herbs...take care!

My baby's birth story is up as well! Congrats, sounds like you did well :) Good for you, he is gorgeous

Oh one more thing.. you can stimulate your breast before pumping by taking a wash cloth and getting dab the nipples clean.. and apply breast cream to the nipples gently till they perk up this triggers them to leak ..than you can pump away lol

~NyMom - Thursday, 15 May
I am BF her and typing with 1 hand.. I don't do the 15 mins each side thing because she would cry when I detach her.. so I let her stay as long as she wants only switching when she is barely sucking.. my doc told me I can do it that why..proper latching of the baby on the breast prevents soreness not time... plus she gets the hindmilk which is the thicker part.. she has been sleeping for 4 hours straight and up for a feeding throughout the night yay! It is normal to be feeding so often with breast milk I am sometimes giving it to her every 2 hours sometimes every hour which is what they call a "growth spurt" nature's way of increasing the supply.. Isn't it adorable the way our hubby's tend to the baby.. they are such manly men but when they are tending to the babies it shows another side of them lol I sometimes catch my husband talking so softly and sometimes singing to the baby than he stops when he sees me!

Always massage your breast if you in the shower, when you feeding your baby just massage a bit with one hand, and when you are about to pump massage the breast have a glass of water get the pump out ..also have a warm rag and when you are pumping place the warm rag on the top part of your breast all this stimulates the "let down" drink some chamomile tea it relaxes you and you may get a few more ounces.. treat your pump like your baby by switching sides during the pumping session.. it stimulates both breast and while one is giving milk the other side is making it and getting ready.. have you pumped yet? even if you get an ounce save it you are stimulating your breast to produce more.. the more you feed baby breast and pump between times the more your body will produce to meet demands... here is one of the great sites on breastfeeding---http://www.storknet.com/cubbies/breast/AS-milksupply.htm

~NyMom - Wednesday, 14 May
I was looking at your pics and I see he looks like his dad.. than again he has a bit of you too.. he is so cute.. I know it is okay for babies to lose weight first before they gain anything.. don't stress over the breast feeding because believe me the baby gets what they need when we think we don't have enough and when you feel you need to increase your milk supply in your breast there are herbs to help .. there is a tea called "mother's milk" that can increase your supply and if you really want to increase your supply there is an herb called fenugreek which comes in cap forms you can find this at the pharmacy ..those pills will surely increase your supply.. you can also drink red raspberry tea leaf this is also known to increase it as well but the most affective (that is if you really want the milk to come in alot) is fenugreek.. I have not used it but in the breastfeeding forum other mothers have given advice to other mothers who feel they aren't maintaining a god supply.. I drink chamomile tea which helps the production of breast milk.. I have a good supply and just need slight stimulation .it also relaxed me and my milk flows freely to feed my child.. I am trying to get my hands on red raspberry leaf tea but haven't found it yet I have to go to an health store for that... don't feel guilty about supplementing with formula some of us moms have to do what we have to do.. Pump when your breast are full don't worry too much about ounces because you will definitely stress yourself out lol.. I hear other mothers freak out talking about how they only get an ounce and fear that the baby is not getting anything.. remember a pump can not get the milk the way your baby does.. sometimes I pump 1 and a half ounce on my left breast..but when my baby latches on she is gulping away lol.. I am online now but I see you are away from your messenger.. you can always leave me an email and I can gladly help you with any advice you need ;0)
