Friday, 9 May My baby is also 3 weeks and sometimes I cab\nnot pump fast enough. We give him emfamil Lipil with Iron. This is what hopsital and doc recommends. his body agrees with this formula. ~NyMom -
Friday, 2 May Mom2 is right about finishing the bottle within the hour :0) ~NyMom -
Friday, 2 May If the baby drank from the bottle for a short time I would say discard it because bacteria can grow even in the most coldest places if you refrig it again.. I also hear that if you warm up milk ( that is if you are breastfeeding) you can't refrig it again .. when my daughter gets bottle fed with breast milk and doesn't drink much of it I toss the rest out. Congrats on the new addition!! mom2boy -
Friday, 2 May It is my understanding that anytime baby drinks from the bottle the milk needs to be finished within an hour. You can allways make bottles in 2 oz volumes (assuming you are doing 4 oz right now) that way there won't be left overs. Jo-Mama -
Friday, 2 May Did the baby drink from the bottle first? Or did you just heat it up and then didn't use it? You can refrigerate it again (though you can never re-freeze milk). Technically you're not supposed to re-feed from the bottle if baby has already had some milk (apparently it can allow her to drink her own bacteria). I asked my midwife about it and she said that while technically you should throw it out, if baby is healthy and has no issues, there really isn't a problem, as long as the milk is refrigerated again. But she said that lots of people will disagree with her. chasesmommy08 -
Friday, 2 May Thanks for your comment on breastfeeding, I am just starting to pump, its not helping too much yet cause I only get like 2 ounces at a time, but I think it will get better. Jo-Mama -
Monday, 28 April My baby is three and a half weeks and I still feel kinda tender and sore, especially when I do too much (like walk too quickly or too far). I guess that's why they say that 6 weeks is a typical recovery time. mommyinthesky -
Monday, 28 April I had my baby one month ago and I'm still sore. I had a 2nd degree tear. I was definitely sore at 2 weeks though. I have my appointment coming up on Thursday and Im glad. I've been afraid to look down there. cko1522 -
Monday, 28 April It is so normal for you to be having the feelings that you are having. Its such a hard adjustment, and your body is going through a ton of rapid changes. I had my boy Feb 18th and I was exactly like you. I yearned for my pre-baby life, I had absolutely no appetite (which was weird because I'd eaten everything in sight before), and I cried constantly. I was so afraid that the feelings wouldn't go away, but it got easier, and I would say by week 4, I was pretty much back to my normal self. I now love being a mom and you will too. LauraBelle21 -
Friday, 25 April Thanks for the 411 about babygas! I mean, its really cute when she can out fart daddy and big brother when she's only 3 days old, but heck! It can only last for so long!!!! Lol. How's your baby girl? bebam1730 -
Friday, 25 April HI, I READ YOUR COMMENT ABOUT THE CORD. YOU SUPPOSED TO CLEAN IT EVERY TIME YOU CHANGE YOUR SON OR DAUGHTER DIAPER WITH ALCOHOL, TO PREVENT INFECTION. SOMETIMES IT TAKES 2 OR 3 WEEKS TO FALL OFF. SPECIALLY IF YOU ARE NOT USING ALCOHOL TO MAINTAINED CLEAN. my-lil-miracle -
Thursday, 24 April thanks so much for ur support... so my Boyfriend is also in the military and is leaving for 6 months in about a week.. that's also stressing me, but also just having a little life depend on me for everything is kind of overwhelming, but if i don't think of it in "year' circumstances and just think about it day by day circumstances then I feel less stressed, but I feel like I need some damn anxiety medicine or something.... Congratulations on ur little girl!! I hope she's a good sleeper and eater! butrfliefct -
Thursday, 24 April Thank you. Noah usually eats for 15-20 mion on one side and then falls asleep. He pulls himself off when he's sleeping and has milk running down his face, it's kind of cute. I guess he's doing ok then. Does your baby mess a little in her diaper when she passes gas? I was wondering because mine does so its kind of hard to tell if he's really giving me the right amount of messy diapers in a day. I guess maybe that means all is well? MsBeenee -
Tuesday, 15 April In response to the pajama question you have I personally like the shirt and pajama pants best. It is easier if you breast feed to me and it is just what I have always worn. Hope I helped. loftisb -
Friday, 11 April Hey have you tried nipple stimulation. I know that it sounds stupid but trust me it works. I was told to do it and I did on a saturday and that wednesday I had my little boy. I was not dialated to anything then after saturday I went to doc on tuesday and I was at 2cm and baby was really really low. So good luck and let me know. Diana4 -
Thursday, 10 April HI I saw your post about the pinching pains and I had to tell you that thats how my contractions felt with my second. I remember talking to my sister on the phone and telling her that I had this wierd pinch pain in my stomach and they were like 5 minutes apart and she said go to the dr. and I was like no because it was nothing like my first so after her convincing me for about an hour I went and had my baby girl 4 hours later. So be careful and dont take any pain lightly. Good luck. luvbugkw -
Wednesday, 9 April well i went to the dr. yesterday and im still the same 2cm and 70% effaced! Nothing changed Grrrr!! And i asked my doc about not loosing the plug and being dilated and he said when you start to dilate you loose your plug just because your opening up so that makes sense. He also said it may not be all at once or as noticable and we could still be loosing more of it as days go by. But other than that things are great with me im just wanting to have her now!! thats not asking to much lol take care moniL -
Tuesday, 8 April i noticed your Q in the what to pack forum- if you plan on BFing you should pack a PJ set or gown with a button up top also make sure its darker colored, in case you have a leak accident. gowns are more comfy & alot easier for going to the restroom etc. but are hard to find with bottons...hope this helps luvbugkw -
Monday, 7 April i dont think you have to loose your plug to be effaced because im 70% effaced dilated to a 2 this was of course as of last wk and i still havent lost my plug that i know of.. I go to the dr. tomorrow i will ask cus thats a good question very intresting. ill let ya know what he say. congrats to you mamashy -
