Thanks!! Benjamin is doing great!! I saw that your c-section is scheduled on 10 September, so not much longer to go and it seems your little one is stable. Are you nervous? Will be thinking of you- Mariska

kodiemom - Monday, 25 August
Well tomorrow is the C-section---as for the NICU given he has two diagnosis already the VM and pylectasis, they say it is to ensure there is nothing else going on (even though all other tests are good) and it is easier to have all consults (US, MRI and Urology) work through the neonatologist in the first day or two---after that if things are good he will go to the regular nursery---I hope two months from now we are both able to look back with some relief and have beautiful babies. I wish you luck (next week right)?--i will post when i get a chance---alice

Hi there,
Sept 10th is right around the corner! I'm excited for you. I know how stressed you have been.
Thank you for the note. I'll post as soon as I can after Tuesday!

kodiemom - Wednesday, 20 August
Good they have stabilized then------my last US indicated the vents came down a little to 12-13mm each. Unsure what this means. I am having my c-section monday-8/25--as i am almost 38 weeks now---i will keep u in my thoughts and when things settle down i will let you know what happens---for sure we know he is going into the NICU immediately and then we will take it from there----good luck

Hey there,
Was just wondering how you are? Are you still troubled with your blood pressure?
I have been having a few headaches recently and have antenatal appointment tomorrow morning so gonna mention it to them.
I too have 5 weeks left, I'm getting loads of braxton hicks and wake up each morning with my hips killing me!
I have every wise old woman telling me that I will have this baby early and am beginning to think their right as I don't remember feeling this bad when I was having Nathan.
Anyhow, enough of my moaning, Hope your doing OK? keep me posted.
Ally xx

Hi....about the Docs, I know exactly why they are doing all these tests. It's cause of me!
I have Chiari (enlargement of the cerebellum) and I'm a rare case of spinal cord tumors of different kinds. Docs are baffled because usually it indicates a chromosomal defect while my chromosomes are fine. (I've been tested). Now....that the baby has also abnormalities, they are trying to understand what's going on with the baby but most of all they are trying to understand if it's linked to me in some way and in what way.
It's just a hard thing to accept for me. I wish they would leave me alone and concentrate on the baby without scaring the living crap out of me. So....even though they say the baby is fine 9for now)....just to shut me up because I've already complained about them and about all the tests, I'm going to see my Neurosurgeon before delivering and if anyone has to touch me or my baby ...it will my Neurosurgeon which I trust without any doubt. I hate to feel like a rat where they can do all their tests. In your case though, I would complain for not having enough tests done. Get on their case....Too much and too little are not good.

I can make myself crazy with this flu thing, I took a course and sat next to this self-absorbed woman who knew I was pregnant and hacked all over the place and said it was allergies so that we wouldn't be concerned, she made several of us sick. I guess I have to let it go, I will never know if that was the true cause. Good luck with the ultrasound today.
I managed to actually buy some baby things yesterday.
Talk soon.

kodiemom - Tuesday, 12 August
I am similar--NST's every monday---feeling huge and uncomfortable ---my ultrasounds have been good--vents have decreased slightly 12-13 each (but really not significantly decreased)--unsure what that means---i have started getting stuff together at home (clothes, etc..) even though wee have no idea when he will come home---i hope you are doing well----

turtlemom - Monday, 11 August
Yes, they are talking acqueductal stenosis now. Originally the Peri didn't think so b/c I'm having a girl and I guess it is not that common in females. But, with the 3rd vent enlargement now, he thinks that may be the case. I guess we won't know for sure until she arrives. I think I read that you are having BP problems. I hope that subsides. I go for my first stress test today.

How are things with u?

mariska - Sunday, 3 August
I hope your scan in 2 weeks will give you positive energy!! With our last results (they didn't measure the ventricles, so I am not sure if they are down, but they looked really small - I could not see the 3rd....) it does proof that all babies grow differently. The head was 3 weeks ahead last time and know the body has caught up. Hang in there and let me know how your scan goes, will be thinking of you!

mariska - Wednesday, 30 July
Hi there, how are you holding up after your last scan. It seems to be stable now, that is a good sign. Did they say anything about the 3rd ventricle being enlarged. Last time the dr. thought it was due to a narrowing somewhere, I am just worried sick that something may be missing in the brain allthough they seem to think everything is there as far as they can tell. I've only got a couple of weeks (or less) to go, so we will see and hope for the best. Hope you are doing ok. - Mariska

kodiemom - Saturday, 26 July
Did you do an MRI? I have two radiologists reading the same MRI who are disagreeing, one is measuring the vents at 16 & 17mm, the other at 13 &15MM, however my ultrasounds are measuring 13 & 15mm. it makes no sense. the neurologist at childrens hospital boston told me that 15, 16, 17mm are moderate readings , and that hydrocephaly would only be indicated with pressure noted on the mRI----i hope your US went well yesterday.....

mariska - Thursday, 24 July
Good luck, will be thinking of you. Hope you will getting good news!!

I have a good feeling about your little one. I wish I could afford a nanny!!!

I have been tracking little Owen for a while now. His mom, Michelle, has thought of everything. She is a wonderful resource!!!

dsryan - Friday, 18 July
sorry it took so long to get back to u, we are in the middle of moving from england to idaho(military), so i have been mad busy. all is well here, briley is doing terrific, 8 weeks old now, sleeps through the night, just started her on cereal this week, and she loves it. she can't get enough. she is getting chunky, which is so cute, my son was a preemie(8weeks) and he was always so small and briley isn't, so different for me to have a cute chunkie baby. i will download some new pics of her so everyone can see her. let me know how things are going. by the way, where are u from in michigan, i am originally from ohio(lima)?

mariska - Thursday, 17 July
Hi there, i'll be thinking off you. Hope it will be stable, like in our situation!! Keep me posted and you hang in there too!!

turtlemom - Wednesday, 16 July
I haven't seen my ankles since April...

turtlemom - Tuesday, 15 July
Also, in response to your question on the board about both lateral vents and 3rd being dialated. My Peri told me he wasn't surprised to see that the 3rd was dialated b/c of the pressure being caused but the lateral vents. It sounded like it was inevitable. He also doesn't think it is aqueductal stenosis, which is the most common form of hydro. So, your baby might be different.

turtlemom - Monday, 14 July
Hi there,
I have an appointment on Thursday (7/17). We'll see. I did hear from Casey whose daughter gave birth on 7/3. He had larger vents than the majority of the people on the board. He was shunted on 7/5 and will probably go home tomorrow. It sounds like he is doing well. So, there is you and I, Casey, Kayz & Irishgal79 that have cases of concern.
How are you doing?

mariska - Saturday, 12 July
I saw your note on the board as well re. 3rd dilated, which was at `our29 week scan too, they think it could be due to a narrowing and they expected the fluid to increase, however at 33 weeks it is stable. So hopefully the same will happen for you. What date do you have to go for your next U/S?
Hang in there too!!
