*Wedding Day!! My sis, me and my cousin*
Hey Everyone! First of all Congratulations to all you Mothers that are expecting or have just had your babies! What an exciting experience!
A little about me....I married the love of my life in March 26, 2005. We just found out we are expecting our 1st child in June 2007 and also just found out on Dec. 27th that we are having a baby BOY!!!! We couldn't be happier! For fun me and my husband are into riding 4 wheelers, camping, fishing, hunting, riding horses, traveling (especially to VEGAS) and anything else outdoors! Of course my 4 wheeler has to sit for awhile :( but I am hoping to be riding again by summer time! I also have 2 dogs who are like my "kids" (they think they are human) and I love them to death. My hubby is a full time firefighter and we also own a business together! So that keeps us pretty busy! I am a pretty laid back person who likes to have fun.
I joined this website to meet new people and share pregnancy experiences and advice. If you want to know anything else just ask!

~~January 2007~~ I found out at the end of October that I was pregnant which put me 6 weeks into it. I had been off depo for almost 2 yrs and was still having abnormal periods, so missing one month was nothing new to me. My husband and I had been trying since right after we got married. So far my pregnancy has gone pretty good. I had morning sickness for a few weeks from about 6-10 weeks and everything made me queasy. But now my appetite is back in full force since beginning my 2nd trimester. I still have no energy and all I want to do is sleep. I am hoping I will get it back soon so I can get back to keeping up on the house chores (poor hubby has been doing it all lately ). I started feeling flutters when I was about 13 weeks and each week they get a little stronger. I thought that was kind of early but my doc says it doesn't surprise her that I felt the baby so early because I have a smaller frame. I got to find out 4 weeks early that we are having a boy due to the fact that my doctor couldn't find the baby's heartbeat at my last appointment. So she sent me in for an ultrasound and thankfully the baby and everything else looked good and the heartbeat was 150 BPM. I guess he is just sitting really low and that is why the doc couldn't find a beat. So while I was in there the tech asked me if I wanted her to take a look to see what the gender might be and sure enough there was the boy part! I go back in for my regular 20 week u/s on January 24th. So I will try to scan my u/s pics on here then. I think that sums it up for about now. I will post another update after my next appt.
~~ January 26th~~
So I had my ultrasound on Wednesday and the baby looks great! The tech confirmed it's STILL a boy! Haha my hubby wanted to make sure he was still having his baby boy! He wouldn't hold very still for the tech, he kept kicking and punching me and his head was pushing right against my bladder. He was opening and closing his mouth and making fists, it was really cute (probably from the sugar doughnut I had before my appt). He has all his fingers and toes and brain and heart measured out good. He weights approx. 11oz right now. It's amazing how much information they can get off these scans. I have gained 4 more lbs this last month which the doc says is fine. I feel really great at the moment except for being extremely tired when I first get up. Probably from getting up 80million times to pee every night. I can't believe how fast the first 20 weeks have gone by. Now I just hope the rest of it does. Baby is moving around quite a bit these days especially more so in the past 2 weeks the kicks have gotten a bit stronger, the only time he really sleeps is when I sleep. He moves constantly from the time I get up to the time I get home! I hope that isn't a sign he is going to be a very active kid! I might be having my hands pretty full! That is about all for now. My next appt is Feb 21st so I will update again then.

~~April 5th~~
I just realized I haven't updated for a few months! Things have been super busy around here lately and I haven't had much time to get on the computer! Anyway, things are going pretty good. Just had my 30 week Doctor appt. and Austin's HB was in the 140's and everything else looks good. My doc also wants me in for one more u/s to measure the baby's growth. She said its routine for them to do a 3rd trimester u/s. I was lucky enough to get in tomorrow morning and can't wait to see my little guy! He has been moving around alot but luckily it hasn't been to painful yet.
My husband and I just got back yesterday from our last vacation before the baby arrives. We went to Vegas, it was a lot of fun but not as fun as it can be when your pregnant. The weather was great! I also found out one of my good friends is pregnant and due November 14!! So it will be great having kids close in age! I will try to post more pictures later because my computer won't let me do it for some reason right now. You can also check them out on myspace. Hope all you ladies are doing well!
~April 20th~
I had my 32 week doctor appt today. Everything looked good!! His HB was in the 160's and he is in the sideways position. Doc said not to worry about it, he has another 4 weeks until they will start getting concerned about it. So lets hope he makes his way to head down! Also I have only gained 1 lb in 2 weeks!! I couldn't be happier. The past 2 months have been a huge weight gain for me and I passed the 30 lb mark that I was hoping to stay at for the whole pregnancy..not much I can do now! I also had an ultrasound 2 weeks ago and the baby was measuring at 3 lbs and 6oz. The tech said he looked great and he is measuring perfectly and is right where he should be. He is still extremely active...and I honestly don't know when he sleeps because I feel him constantly!! Even in the middle of the night. As far as how I am feeling, I am just overly exhausted. I don't sleep at all due to peeing every 1/2 hour and him kicking me and just being plain uncomfortable. So I am somewhat sleep deprived and getting really cranky. I have also started the "nesting" phase and am in the process of cleaning my whole house out and throwing a bunch of junk out! I re-arranaged my big walk in closet and paid dearly for it the next day. I don't know how long this is supposed to go on...but at least my house will be spotless by the time I am done with it! I am also having my 1st baby shower next weekend with my friends and then my other one on May 5th that is just family. I can't wait! Anyway that is about all for the moment. Hope everyone elses pregnancies are going good!!

~May 11th~
Well I am 35 weeks now. Had a little bit of a scare on Monday. I had been leaking fluid, I was pretty sure it wasn't my water, but it was a clear liquid. So I called my doctor's office anyway and they were able to get me in and test to see if it was amniotic fluid, and it turned it was not!!! I had to see another DR. since mine wasn't in that day. She said it was other bodily fluid and maybe the start of me losing my mucous plug. She checked my cervix and I am closed tight! The baby is finally "head down" which I am relieved for!! I also got my Strep B test done, it wasn't bad at all. I was thinking it would be painful. I will get the results back next week on that. Other then that just trying to take it easy. I am starting to swell a little in my hands, my wedding ring is getting pretty tight! My feet haven't been to bad yet, thankfully! I finally had all my baby showers (3) and got most everything we need for Austin. Me and my husband went out last night and bought the few remaining things that we didn't have. My hospital bag is almost packed as well as the diaper bag. So now it's just time to wait it out for the next 5 or so weeks!
Oh I did have my 34 week appt. last week and my doctor did tell me that she will not let me go over a week past due. She is going off of my first due date of June 13th so that means my little man will be here no later then June 20th!! I go in next Friday for my 36 week appt. and after that I am supposed to be going weekly! Wow time has flown by so quickly! I also have updated pics on my MYSPACE profile. I can't seem to post them on here right now because my computer isn't cooperating with me :)
~May 18th~
Had my 36 week appointment. It was very uneventful. BP and baby's HB were good and I actually managed to lose 1/2 a pound! I don't know how since I have been eating a lot lately! My Dr. didn't check me because I had went in the week before when I thought my water was leaking and I was closed up nice and tight and have not been having any contractions. So I saved myself one uncomfortale visit. My Strep B test came back negative so that is a relief. I am now only weekly appointments...so it's just the waiting game now.
I am starting to get more uncomfortable with every day. It's getting harder to get out of bed or even get out of a chair. My legs constantly ache and now I am having a little lower back pain. Sleeping is definitely getting worse, althought I didn't think it could...I am already up every hour peeing. I guess I will be used to no sleep once the baby comes! :)
~May 25th~
I went in for my 37 week appt. yesterday. Was a little disappointed that my Dr. didn't want to do an internal exam. She had been telling me all along she would start the internals when I hit 36 weeks but hasn't yet. The only one I had was when I went in for my unscheduled appt at 35 weeks and got my strep B test. So next week she said she definitely will. I just want to know if I am making any progress. Austin's HB was in the 140's and my BP was good and I didn't gain any weight this last week! I am now considered full term and she recommended that I do a lot of walking and "other activity" to try to get the ball rolling. She is gone the week of my due date and said in two weeks at my 39 week appt we will discuss a birth plan..as far as inducing if I go past 40 weeks. She said she will also strip my membranes then if I have not had him by then. I still have not had many contractions (or at least from what I can tell). Some BH and some abdominal and lower back pain but nothing consistent or that painful. He hasn't dropped yet. So I am hoping the next couple weeks go by quickly...the rest of my pregnancy has up until the last couple weeks...now the days are dragging by! Hope all you ladies are feeling well!
~May 31st~
Had my 38 week appt yesterday and everything went good! I am starting to progress!!! I am 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced! I know its not much but I am happy something is happening! He still hasn't dropped all the way but the Dr could feel his head and said he is really low.She estimates he weighs close to 7 lbs and thinks he has really long legs because I still feel him high in my ribs.So I am trying to be active and get some last minute stuff done. She thinks I won't go past my due date and I sure hope she is right.I hope by next week he will decide to come! I don't go back in until next Friday so I will update then, unless something else happens before then!
~June 11th~
Well I went to the Dr. on Friday and did not have any change from the previous week. Still 1cm and 50%. She did end up stripping my membranes but as you can see I am still here with no baby! I had a few contractions when I left and then they stopped. I did lose my mucous plug last night and have been having a lot of lower back pain since about Thursday. I have also been feeling naseous off and on since then. I am still working but not 5 days a week. I just need to keep myself occupied in this last week so I don't go crazy. The good thing is I do have an induction date scheduled for June 18th!!!!! I am going in the night of the 17th right before midnight and hopefully have my baby in the morning or afternoon of the 18th! I can't wait at least there is an end in sight for me. In the mean time I am still hoping he will come on his own and I still have a little time left for him to do that. But he might just be as stubborn and his mama is! Well hopefully the next update I have is my birth story and some pics! Belly rubs to all of you!
~June 25th~
HE'S HERE!!
Well I am finally getting a chance to post my birth story….its been a little busy around here since the arrival of Austin!
I went in at 11:45pm on June 17th for my scheduled induction. They started me with a pill to soften my cervix since I was only about 75% effaced at the time. Then at around 8am the next morning they started me on pitocin to get the contractions coming more frequently. My doctor came in shortly after that to check me and I was 2cm dilated and 95% effaced. The contractions were pretty mild for the next few hours and just felt like menstrual cramps. At around 12:30pm my doctor came back to check me again and I was finally at 4cm dilated and she broke my water then…that was the weirdest feeling ever. The contractions started getting really strong after that and I was able to tolerate it for a bit then started feeling really sick. So my nurse came in at 1:30pm and started me on Fetenol (sp?) to ease the pain until I could get my epi (there were 8 other women waiting to get theirs). I was still at a 4 when the nurse checked me again. Well the fetenol was not cutting it and I was in tears curled up in my bed trying to ease the pain, my contractions were about 1 minute apart and I couldn’t take it. So Tyler went and got the nurse and told her I needed the epi NOW….finally about 20 minutes later the lady came in to give it to me…but it was so bad I could barely sit on my bed holding still because the contractions were so intense, I was crying so bad and Tyler had to try to hold me still as much as possible. Finally they got it going and within minutes I was in pure HEAVEN!!! I felt nothing after that and my body was completely numb and I was so thankful for that! I was still at a 4 after then and the nurse told me to get some rest for an hour then she would be back. So I just got into a good sleep but my parents arrived and my mom was too excited about her first grandchild that she made sleeping impossible. The nurse came back an hour later at about 3:30pm and I was at 9cm!! I couldn’t believe how quick that went and I felt nothing! So she let me sit for another ½ hour and by 4pm I was at 10cm. Her and a few other nurses were starting to prep things for the delivery, I had to finally kick my mom out of the room because she wouldn’t leave. So I had 2 nurses in there with me and one turned out to be a Doula which was awesome! She was the greatest! I started pushing at about 4:30pm and continued for almost 2 hours. The doctor finally came in and after awhile the baby really wasn’t budging from there and they realized his head was a little big . So she started to get worried because the babies heartbeat was bouncing from 180-210 and it looked like he was in distress. She said she would try the vacuum for 15 minutes then it would be off to the OR to do a c-section if it didn’t work. After 5 minutes though she was able to get Austin out…but she also gave me an episiotomy and I already had tearing and it turned out to be a 4th degree cut/tear (which I am deeply paying for now). Austin came into the world on Monday June 18th at 6:22pm weighing 8lbs 7oz and was 21.5 inches long. He had the cord wrapped around his neck so I didn’t get to see him right away, the nurses had to check him out first and do all their tests on him and it ended up being an hour until I saw him even though he was in the same room with me. It took the doctor an hour to stitch me up and I have 4 layers of stitches. My husband told me that was one of the worst births he has ever seen and felt so bad that I went through all that. At least I didn’t feel anything until after it was all over with. We got to leave the hospital 2 days later and are doing well now. It’s hard for me to move around a lot but I am getting better each day. The doctor told me I will have 12 weeks recovery time, but I am seriously hoping not.
The whole experience was totally worth it though and I am so in love with my new baby boy. I never knew you could love someone so much. He is absolutely perfect in my eyes! And that is my birth story!
