Hi! My name is Dana (22) and I'm pregnant with my first baby, a BOY! due around Feb 16. His name is Benjamin, after his daddy. Ben (21) and I met in high school and we'll be celebrating our 5th year anniversary on November 2. We've been living together for over 3 years and we bought a house in July '06. We were pretty shocked to find out we were going to be parents but now we can't wait to have our little one here!

How I found out I was pregnant:
I was two weeks late (period) so I had my mom go out and get me a pregnancy test. I took it at her house. Now I always read the directions with everything, but for some reason I didn't read the directions with the test. There was one dark line and one very, very faint line, so we all just assumed it was negative. Later that night I get a call from my 9 year old little sister who tells me she was reading the directions and that even if you get a faint line you could still be pregnant!! So the next morning I took another test, and the second line was much more visible. AND, I took another test the next morning, and the next morning! All positive! The doctor confirmed it on Monday June 18 and I had an u/s on Tuesday June 26 where I heard the heartbeat and found out I was 6 weeks and 3 days along! Thank goodness my sister had the brains to read that little pamphlet!

2-14-08 39 weeks 5 days
Even though I constantly have people asking me how I'm doing and how the baby's doing, I have never felt more alone in my life. I actually feel this way all the time. Ben works 2nd shift, he gets home about 11:15pm and I usually go to our bedroom to watch tv b/c I don't really care to watch SportsCenter or watch him play his STUPID video games, he usually comes to bed around 5am and gets up around 130pm and then he leaves about 230pm for work....Mon-Fri, that's his schedule. And on the weekends its nothing but video games or we do something with his best friend and his girlfriend which is fine but its EVERY weekend. I tell him that pretty soon we won't have any time for each other but he just shrugs, he doesn't care. I have this bathroom storage cabinet that goes over the toilet and Ben said he would help me put it together and its still sitting in the box and we got it over two weeks ago, I also have a filing cabinet that needs to be put together but that also is still sitting in its box and I got that over a month ago. I do everything around the house, Ben's only job is to take out the trash but lately I've been doing that, what gives? It took me two days to do a sink full of dishes b/c my back was hurting so bad, but did Ben offer to help? NO! The bathroom needs to be cleaned, the kitchen floor needs to be swept and mopped, the floor needs to be vacuumed.....but I guess none of that will ever get done. Maybe when the baby's about 6 months old I'll finally have the energy to do it all, but right now walking from room to room is exhausting. Sure people say if I need anything to let them know, they're more than willing to help out, but how do I expect someone else to clean my bathroom?? My baby is due in two days and he's showing no signs of coming anytime soon and I don't blame him. His mother is a loser.

This song is dedicated to my son. Mommy loves you!

LOL - it's so funny you should say that about style. My mom was SOO into hair and clothes, it was the opposite for me. I wasn't into it, and when I was 13 she was like why don't you try a little makeup? LOL, I was the only 13 allowed to who didn't want to. I still only have about 8 pairs of shoes, I know unbelievable. SO, I totally know what you mean about should have been a boy. HAHA, I got the cut and dye for my 10 year reunion, I wanted a reason to keep the eyes on my face and not the extra lbs I'm carrying

personal opinion, I think your doctor is a bit extreme! I asked my doctor when I could give Natalie solids at her 4 month visit and she said to definately introduce solids by the time she is 6 months so she can get used to the textures. I think that you need to go with your gut on this one. My daughter is 5 months and loves her bananas and oatmeal, she loves her sweet potatoes at dinner, and she even eats baby cookies which she seems to LOVE. If you are really questioning it, have a 2nd opinion by another doc! Good luck and go with your gut :o)

Oh thank you. I got home today I had to have an emergency c-section. After the gel on Sunday night I started contracting around 2 and by 6 am they were about 4 minutes a part but the pain was too much for me to handle so I went to the hospital. I FINALLY got the epidural at 9 am! That's when the doc arrived from surgery, by that time they were concerned about Trent's heart rate cause every time I had a contraction his heart dropped dramatically. I was too doped up to grasp the severity of the situation and the doc said we need to do a emergency c-section! She said is we waited then that could mean bad for Trent so I had it done, no and ifs or buts, I said get him out. He is VERY healthy though, weighing 8lbs 9 ozs light blond little hairs and big blue eyes, he was also 21 inches. You were so right about mommyhood, I am just taken away by how much I love him. Hope to talk soon, little guy needs a diaper change LOL

LOL okay then it's settled, he also wants to buy me an i-pod! That one I'm not sure about, we'll see. I saw the new pics of the little one, they are SOOOOO cute. Man I can't wait till Monday LOL

lizamafers - Saturday, 12 July
Omg you know what, we're moving next week! So I can't go all out, it was a last minute decision. Everything is packed except for the baby stuff LOL 'cause we don't know what we'll need. You know what's funny, my hubby keeps asking me if he can by me a laptop! Should I say yes???

lizamafers - Friday, 11 July
Awe I bet, they were so cute and fun to watch! My hubby bought a cam corder just for stuff like that, plus he said when he's at work he doesn't want to miss a thing LOL He's too cute. I don't blame him he works from 2p.m till almost midnight! That's a long time to be away. I hear you about the patience thing, I've never been a kid person, I'm just like my Mom, the only one she could handle was me LOL I think I'll be the same. Man Monday is coming so quick! Time is going faster knowing i'm getting induced Monday than if I didn't know at all. Oh I can't wait

DANNIE - Thursday, 10 July
Now that benjamin is almost 5 months old there will periods during the day where his sleep cycle will be more than just one cycle of 90 minutes long. I have stopped trying to get Ryland down EVERY 90 minutes, it was working before when he was a bit younger, but now that he is older, he is able to stay awake longer than just 1 1/2 hrs at different parts of the day. I now find that he stays awake for almost 3 hrs before needing a nap. Perhaps Benjamin isn't ready at 90 minutes. If he is showing NO signs at 90 minutes, let him go longer but keep your eyes peeled for signs. Once I stopped stressing about getting RY down every 90 minutes and just let him lead the way, he started to set his own schedule and when he was ready and showed signs, he fell/falls asleep much easier! Try to relax about the whole thing and let nature take it's course

P.s me and my hubby just watched your videos of your son and OMG he's just precious we were cracking up and CAN'T WAIT for this little guy to come. It's videos like that, that make you anxious

lizamafers - Wednesday, 9 July
Wow I bet, good for you. I felt it the worst when I got sick, OMG not being able to take ANYTHING, my doc said he didn't even want me taking halls, it was brutal since I work outside, and it was winter. I did notice though that the body heals quicker without all the drugs in it, makes sense. I was the same way till I heard it was a boy, but I knew, actually I think it was my hubby, since day one he was telling people it was a boy! Followed along with a "Clarke men only have boys!" LOL Well he was right!. And in our case we kept the boy thing up, no girls born in his family in like 5 generations! It's crazy. Are you planning anymore???? I make jokes about it to freak out the hubby

Talk soon

Awe I still feel bad for ya, that's your little man :-(. He probably did get bigger! I hear their grown right before your eyes! Time flies when you're having fun. I bet he's charming everyone, just look at that smile. I think I'm being biased when I say I LOVE baby boys, not so interested in little girls LOL From their outfits to their little smiles they're just too cute! I can't wait. Man I can't WAIT till I can take an Aspirin again LOL I've learned to manage pain, but I know when are friendly monthly friend starts up again I'll be running for it LOL Oh and that's another pregnancy thing I'm SO going to miss, no periods!

lizamafers - Monday, 7 July
LOL I know eh! And I LOVED chicken. I used to smoke, quit when I got pregnant, and since I quit it makes sick to smell it too! I can eat chicken burgers now, so that's good. I feel good thank you, too good, I wish I was having some contractions LMAO I think I may be induced, the sweep did absolutely NOTHING! Ah well, either way he'll be here in the next few days. How are you doing? How are you feeling after then dentist? And of course, how's that gorgeous little man of yours? Talk soon

Aww well at least when it's over, it's over, and no more teeth get pulled! That's funny, every doc I notice have different things they do, like my doc won't let his patients go past their due dates more than 5 days! Where as a friend of mine who was due June 29th is going almost 2 exact weeks past and getting induced pretty much two weeks past. Hope you're feeling better.

Talk soon

Liz

lizamafers - Thursday, 3 July
Oh no I'm sorry to hear that, why do you have to be away for so long? Well, my Doc said my cervix is now 90% thinned so he did something called "stretching the cervix" which he said could start labor as soon as tonight! I've progressed way more than we both thought, either way he says the woman he cares for he doesn't let go past 5 days, so either way he'll be here in 7 days WOW that's a lot to take in LOL

lizamafers - Thursday, 3 July
Aww got to love little boys eh! They know when they got it good LOL I'm going to see the doc today in a bout an hour so I hope he's got good news for me *crosses fingers* LOL

lizamafers - Wednesday, 2 July
No problem at all! I'm going nuts waiting LOL I rather be back at week 30! This last few days or so is torture
