Hi everyone.

I am due in May 2008. I have a feeling that I am having a boy - I don't know why :-) I am really happy to be pregnant - I did not think that I would ever have a baby of my own since I have tried insemination and IVF without any luck. And now it has happened all naturally. I am SO happy :-)

2nd Jan. I am having a big baby boy! Yahooo...!

My boyfriend and I have decided that I am going to give birth in Australia. He is Australian and we have family there that are birthdoctors. So long Denmark! :-)

Happy due date Mama!!!!

I'm glad you're doing good. I forgot you're having to go the hospital because of a strike--great timing!

I much prefer the way they view childbirth in Scandinavian countries. The obsession of drugs and intervention in the US has always terrified me. That's why I tried to have my first baby at home. But the system still got me because my wifwife's malpractice insurance would not let her allow me to stay at home more than 24 hours after my water broke. It was still lucky I started at home the. My son was born 46 hours after my water broke--if I'd have been in the hospital all that time I would be a cesarean statistic for sure.

So this is my first time trying to have a natural birth with a regular doctor in a hospital. I hope I'm strong enough!

How are you and hubby doing? Is he taking good care of you? It's funny because you seemed a lot happier when you were all by yourself. Maybe just all these annoyances are getting to you? The bathroom and strike are huge! Hang in their beautiful Mama!!!

Nothing happening yet sweetheart, can't be too much longer, are you going to be induced, is that why you are going to the hospital?
I would love to be over there giving you some help, I am afraid, even with all the children I have had, you don't know everything, anyone who professes that they know everything about babies and children, are simply not telling the truth, there is always something to learn.
You will be fine Lina, trust in yourself, you will how to look after your baby, go with your gut instincts and not everything the midwife or doc tells you, sometimes Mums know better.

Awwww. So sorry Danish-girl. You ARE always so chipper. I think there have been a lot of things weighing on you though. So why are you going to the hospital in four hours? They don't induce in Scandinavian countries until the last minute right?

ya know, I'm not too sure what a stress test is either or what they do. The nurse said they would hook me up and make sure the baby is "handling things well". To be honest though I'm not really familiar with any of it either.

OMG! The toilet and shower thing has to be wearing on you--even with your sweet disposition. Any chance of hubby taking you to a hotel or something? Or maybe going to mom's again?

How hot is it over there? It's going to be in the 90's today (farenheit, sorry I don't know celseus), which is brutally hot. I could not go without a shower. I have to shower twice a day to keep my sweaty pregnant hoo hoo fresh for baby! LOL!

that situation with the strike sounds really brutal. someone needs to figure something out, that's just not right. Anyway, here we have lactation consultants at every hospital. they will come up to your hospital bed and coach you on breastfeeding and give pointers. Also I found a free breastfeeding class given at a maternity clothing store here that was really informative. There has to be something free you can access where you are, I think it will make breastfeeding more successful for you if you do find a class. Oh and I had my 40 wk apt today and they didn't even mention doing an internal...so I still haven't had one either!! I have to schedule a stress test for next week since it looks like I'm going overdue.

I am feeling pretty good today. I came in to work and everyone is amazed at how I walk around better now than I did through my entire pregnancy. It is pretty crazy--but I am pretty sure it is because she was almost falling out throughout my pregnancy up until the time she hit full term. Now that it is okay to come she is so high that is like I am practically not even pregnant. I was tempted to enter the jump roping contest at our Mother's Day party on Sunday to try to get her out, but I knew my husband would have had a heart attack! :)

So glad your baby has had the decency to wait until hubby gets home. You must be walking on air today looking forward to seeing him. Have him "make a deposit" as my hubby says to see if that can help moves things along! ;)

Hope you get over your cold real soon. Drink lots and lots of water!

Thanks, Oh and I read a birthstory saying that she had flu like symptoms a couple days before she went thru labor......Maybe your time is coming soon.......Good Luck

xobeckyxo - Wednesday, 14 May
You and I seem to have things in common with this pregnancy! I'm due Friday...no sign of anything. The usual aches and pains..can't sleep...feel sick and I really don't want to feel sick during labor. How awful would that be to be having the flu or strep throat during labor?? I hope our bodies are smarter than that. Anyway, have you gotten your internal yet? I still haven't gotten one but I have an apt today, maybe I won't be too nervous to let her do one. Anyway, progress can happen very quickly so just because we have no signs today doesn't mean anything about tomorrow! Good Luck

Hi there, miss you on the boards, but I'm glad to know you're in good hands with mom and have a toilet handy! When you get back online drop me a note and let me know how you're doing. I got some really weird feelings last night and thought I was close, but it just turned out my gigantic baby was spinning--she went from posterior to breach to posterior again. Phew! I was practically in tears when I realized she was breech because there are only two doctors in the entire state willing to deliver a breach baby vaginally, and they don't work anywhere near me!

About the no toilet thing...maybe, just maybe you'll go into labor today and be at the hospital for the next couple of days! Then, you can just use the hospital toilet! *Sending labor dust to you* :) Goodness! It's already past 6PM there! It's barely 9:40 AM here and I can't seem to get out of my robe! :)

I know what you mean. I think this site is great because it gives us all an outlet for whatever gripes we might have. It is really not socially acceptable to complain about all the not-so-glorious aspects of pregnancy, so it provides women a place to vent without judgment. So we can come on here and whine about insomnia, swollen ankles, constipation---whatever--then when we are out in social circles we can smile and glow and pat our tummies and talk about how wonderful this experience has been! :)

Too bad you NEED them there to fix stuff. Otherwise you could fake like you're going into labor and then I'm sure they would leave!

socalgal - Tuesday, 13 May
Ya, sometimes I cheat and follow you guys to the week ahead a few days early. No signs of anything over here. But I do have tons of photos from my first labor because I had a photographer and do you know that I never dropped--even 24 hours after my water broke? I looked identical to how I look right now. And I also never remember seeing a mucous plug or anything. So maybe I'm just different than the average and my labor will be a big surprise like last time. I'm actually thinking my baby might come right on her due date because the next full moon is the 20th and she is due the 21st. I've heard lots of babies come during the full moon. (Fingers crossed). How you feeling? You always sound good--very positive. I'm glad at least one other person is going to let nature take its course. :)

angie007 - Tuesday, 13 May
I basically feel the same way. The only reason why I'm up right now (it's only 7am) is because I have to make sure my son gets himself ready for school and out the door on time. If it wasn't for that, my comforter would be my good friend right now too. :)
