Hi everyone.

I am due in May 2008. I have a feeling that I am having a boy - I don't know why :-) I am really happy to be pregnant - I did not think that I would ever have a baby of my own since I have tried insemination and IVF without any luck. And now it has happened all naturally. I am SO happy :-)

2nd Jan. I am having a big baby boy! Yahooo...!

My boyfriend and I have decided that I am going to give birth in Australia. He is Australian and we have family there that are birthdoctors. So long Denmark! :-)

OMG U STILL PREGNANT..WHEN ARE THEY INDUCING U

dancinmama - Wednesday, 28 May
Just wanted to say that I am very impressed with the policies where you live! I am in the US and was very lucky to find a practice that was very natural in their approach to childbirth. With my first baby, I was "induced" on day 12 past my due date - by induced I mean they gave me some prostaglandin gel and did a membrane sweep then sent me home. I was scheduled for the same procedure the next day, but luckily I went into labor that night. My daughter was 7lbs 14 oz when she was born, alert as could be, and she started sleeping through the night at just over a month old. I believe that the "extra time" in the womb really helped us out the first few weeks of life! The childbirth classes that we took (Bradley Method) also say that if left alone, the average pregnancy lasts 41 weeks, not 40. Makes you wonder how many babies are being evicted just a little too early.
With this baby (#3), the practice has changed its policies and will only let you go to 41 weeks before they induce at the hospital - they were a freestanding birth center before, but for funding reasons have had to join up with a high-risk perinatology team who believe that letting a woman go to 42 weeks is not safe. This is too bad, considering how careful they were to make sure the placenta was functioning correctly, baby was healthy, etc before you were allowed to go to 42 wks. It is true, though, I think most of the docs are just concerned about malpractice and funding!
Well, this was a very long post, sorry! I wish you the best (especially since I have been following your posts for awhile!) I'm sure all will go wonderfully for you!

Hey I applaud you for wanting to wait. I was induced with my first, and I wish I would have waited. I felt somehow like I didnt have a "real" labor since I was medically induced. He did get stuck on the way out cuz he was a little too big for me but we got him out intact and okay. The second time around I was resolved not to be induced and she actually came 2 days early posterior but early. I learned in that birth I cant have anymore epidurals so God willing, if we have another it will be au natural, maybe even at home. Hang in there its almost over!!!! Enjoy all those uncomfortable baby bumps and thumps inside, its over so fast!!

kidzluv - Wednesday, 28 May
No your not the only one who has delivered yet. I'm still waiting too :( I've had everything ready for a month already and it's starting to get dusty lol!

christelle - Wednesday, 28 May

dalluv101 - Tuesday, 27 May
Hey Lina, just poppin in to see what Mon's visit did for you!!! So Friday's the day, which is only a day or so away for you...Me plus 7 hours, I think. :) Don't be scared. You can do it. I just kept thinking "every woman who's ever had a baby has done this!!!" :)
You'll do great!

socalgal - Tuesday, 27 May
Awwwww. Internet being down mustve been brutal!

Sorry you're getting scared, but that is totally normal. Even when I was 10 cms and had been pushing for what seemed like forever, I realized I was holding back somewhat out of fear. I thought I'd break in half or something. Lol! As soon as I let that fear go and pushed with all my might, that is when the baby finally turned and entered the birth canal. It was really amazing. I just wanted to share that because I really believe our bodies can do this, and even so, I allowed my fear to hinder the birth process until I let it go. You may have a similar experience where you need to reach deep inside yourself and face your fears and let them go.

My baby wasn't nearly as big as the doctor feared. And in fact, I think she looks so tiny and cute. Hopefully, your baby is not going to be as big as they feared as well. I remember we were both advised we might have huge babies so I wanted to reassure you that my baby was way smaller than they thought she'd be.

I'm so proud of you for being patient and hanging in there. I wonder why the baby just hasn't seen fit to come. My baby does everything on her own schedule instead of according to what is typical. Yours must be the same way. :). She just barely started pooping and had us all upset. They almost didn't let us leave the hospital. It's just so typical of her. Nothing is wrong with her, she just has her own pace of doing things. :)

Anyway, I think of you very often and hope that all goes beautifully for you. I can't wait to hear all about your birth story. xxxxx

good thing they scheduled a date you will soon have your baby boy!!! i can't believe they waited soooo long.....i would of had to wait until a full 41 weeks if he did not show up, are you going to have him naturally i tried to wait for the epidural but got it shortly after i was admitted being 4 i guess i was 5 when i got it but it wore off after 12 hrs so i got more thru the iv but it was frustrating not feelin my legs that much if i wasn't to move or adjust the pain is alot but once you see your baby u won't think of it and then its worth it cuz u got your baby- get rest until the big day and soon he'll be here nurses are pushy so you have to tell them or they will do whatever to you and be controlling just stay postive and it will be over soon!!!!! thanks for the comment its already been a week and i love it but its tiring good luck with everything i will check back on you soon-take care

You will be fine! the biggest advice anyone gave me was to trust my body and stay in control with relaxed breathing. because of this, I was fine without pain meds until transition and a change in midwife shift. the new midwife didn't explain things to me and I lost confidence in my body. it was at that moment that the pain became too much for me. I was begging for a C-section and general anaesthetic. I pushed for 3 hours but i'm sure if i had not lost faith in myself i could have pushed harder and thus had a less traumatic experience. Pam x

overdueandfrustrated - Sunday, 25 May
I had my baby on thursday evening. Avoided induction in the end as nature kicked in just in time! baby Nathaniel was 8lbs and needed a little help with forceps in the end but I managed to have my baby with only tens end Gas and air exactly as I wanted. Motherhood is amazing. Best of luck with a healthy birth and baby! Pam xxx

Hi Lina,

How are you doing? I hope you go into labor naturally pretty soon. You've been so incredibly patient.

I feel great. I just can't wait to go home. I feel like we're in jail because they won't let us leave until tomorrow. As hard as they try, they cannot find anything wrong with us. We are both incredibly healthy and doing great. But that doesn't stop them from checking on us and poking us constantly! I swear, next time I am going to Denmark. Let me know when you're ready to make another one and we can plan for the same time! ;)

Labor dust and best wishes! xxxxx

monday night! but im having a lot of pain, i might go before then... wishful thinking? maybe.

xobeckyxo - Saturday, 24 May
well today was a Whopper! went in for that on stress test, the test came out fine, she is doing great. So then they say they want to check my cervix..she tells me I'm at a 1!!! And then proceeds to strip my membranes without my consent. I did want the stripping done but it would have been nice for her to get my permission. Anyway, so then she says, 'see you monday morning'. ??!!?? I said, "for what"? She said, "oh they didn't tell you about your scheduled induction yet, I thought they had" So they scheduled me for an induction at 41+3 because that's the only date and time they have openings and otherwise it wouldn't be until 42+3 and they don't want to wait that long. They said they would like to have scheduled me for Wednesday 41+5 but they "just don't have any openings"!! I hate that. So I have to go through more hell because the hospital is all booked up. Very annoying. I tired to call another hospital but they won't do an elective induction at this late in the game. I can always decline the induction but then who knows what...I feel like I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. I could just keep going for the Non stress tests but they only do inductions on mon/tues/wed and 42+3 seems a little long to wait....
Anyway, so I walked for almost 2 hours today around the mall and Glenn and I will be making it an 'eventful' weekend hoping that things will start naturally. I talked to her about them just breaking my water at first instead of getting right down to pitocin but she said that's not statistically successful on first time deliveries and that pitocin is really the only way we will get anywhere. She did offer me a 2 day induction but I would be in the hospital that entire time, things would just go more slowly. I'm considering that instead. Sorry this is soooooooo long. Anything new on your side?

MariaC - Friday, 23 May
Any joy??? xXx

dalluv101 - Friday, 23 May
Yes, it is contagious. It's a yeast infection of the mouth...and well, you can imagine where WE get it. Right where we need NO additional trauma after giving birth. lol. Luckily, Kael just had milk build-up, so sigh of relief there. My first son had thrush right away & it gives them (eventually) a thick, white coated tongue, inner lips, cheeks, & gums. It also leads to really bad diaper rash, which is NO fun. :) Any odd feelings yet? Kael was almost 9 lbs, so I'm not sure if my body would have ever given him up. Good grief. I hope you have better luck on that front. Okay, so bed & sofa are OUT. I understand. :)
