Hi everyone.

I am due in May 2008. I have a feeling that I am having a boy - I don't know why :-) I am really happy to be pregnant - I did not think that I would ever have a baby of my own since I have tried insemination and IVF without any luck. And now it has happened all naturally. I am SO happy :-)

2nd Jan. I am having a big baby boy! Yahooo...!

My boyfriend and I have decided that I am going to give birth in Australia. He is Australian and we have family there that are birthdoctors. So long Denmark! :-)

the machines that monitor the babys heartbeat during also monitor movements and you can hear the baby move! its actually pretty loud shooshing and rustling. so you dont need to worry at all about that.usually during labor the babys movements are lessened a bit due to lack of space, but the baby does move around for sure.

I just had my baby, and I felt him moving until my contractions really started and they broke my water. He might have been moving but the contractions were so intense that is all I could focus on. But they hook up moniters on your belly to make sure their heart beat is where it needs to be.

the baby is good... she has certain nights when she's up but other then that i get sleep at night... she sleeps alot during the day too but actually is becoming more awake during the day now!

Thanks Lina. I'm doing lots of exercises to try to open things up and prepare for the birth. I am going to talk to my doctor about birthing in a squatting position too. If she is seriously worried about the size of my baby, then she should support my desire to birth squatting so that the baby will have 20-30% more room. If she refuses to allow me to birth in a squat, then that says a lot and maybe I need to try to find someone else at the last minute.

hi there...i dont have much time to sit on the comp anymore haha so instead of answering your questions i just posted a birth story :)

socalgal - Sunday, 18 May
Thanks. I think what I'm feeling is a combination of the hormones and extreme pressure to get the baby to turn and go into labor. I went thru hell with my first birth--all the pressure and fear that he wouldn't be able to get out without a c section. This is already way better because my water hasn't broken, thank God. It's just starting to make me really angry that even with my waters not broken, I'm not being allowed to labor at my own pace. I talked to my hubby and he was super sweet. I was supposed to go to my doc tomorrow, but he agreed we can just wait until Weds-my due date and then tell her I won't induce before 41 weeks. She doesn't allow patients to go past 41 weeks, which again, I think is stupid, but I really don't think I'm going to go that long. I just need to relax and let her come when she is ready. It is just so hard with everyone breathing down my neck!

Yeah, i know what you mean about the swollen feet, we were visiting my grandparents and i was sitting at their kitchen table with my mother, aunt, husband, sister, etc and all of a sudden i see my sister and husband cracking up. my sister was showing him a picture on her camera and of course, what was it a picture of......my swollen feet. My sister said she "had" to take a picture of them b/c she hasnt seen anything like it. They call them "mutant". sooooo nice!!

Thanks for letting me know Lina, I thought you might have been in hospital to be induced, and I can see they were pretty close to doing that.
It is a good thing that when and if they induce they do it so slowly, not like in other countries where they force the cervix to ripen and to dilate in a matter of hours!
You must be getting so over being preggers, I am, I just want her to come out now! hehe.
Lots of labour dust to you and me, and you will be fine with the nappies, they are cinch to work out, and since you have done them before, you will have no probs.

Happy due date Mama!!!!

I'm glad you're doing good. I forgot you're having to go the hospital because of a strike--great timing!

I much prefer the way they view childbirth in Scandinavian countries. The obsession of drugs and intervention in the US has always terrified me. That's why I tried to have my first baby at home. But the system still got me because my wifwife's malpractice insurance would not let her allow me to stay at home more than 24 hours after my water broke. It was still lucky I started at home the. My son was born 46 hours after my water broke--if I'd have been in the hospital all that time I would be a cesarean statistic for sure.

So this is my first time trying to have a natural birth with a regular doctor in a hospital. I hope I'm strong enough!

How are you and hubby doing? Is he taking good care of you? It's funny because you seemed a lot happier when you were all by yourself. Maybe just all these annoyances are getting to you? The bathroom and strike are huge! Hang in their beautiful Mama!!!

Nothing happening yet sweetheart, can't be too much longer, are you going to be induced, is that why you are going to the hospital?
I would love to be over there giving you some help, I am afraid, even with all the children I have had, you don't know everything, anyone who professes that they know everything about babies and children, are simply not telling the truth, there is always something to learn.
You will be fine Lina, trust in yourself, you will how to look after your baby, go with your gut instincts and not everything the midwife or doc tells you, sometimes Mums know better.

Awwww. So sorry Danish-girl. You ARE always so chipper. I think there have been a lot of things weighing on you though. So why are you going to the hospital in four hours? They don't induce in Scandinavian countries until the last minute right?

xobeckyxo - Thursday, 15 May
ya know, I'm not too sure what a stress test is either or what they do. The nurse said they would hook me up and make sure the baby is "handling things well". To be honest though I'm not really familiar with any of it either.

socalgal - Thursday, 15 May
OMG! The toilet and shower thing has to be wearing on you--even with your sweet disposition. Any chance of hubby taking you to a hotel or something? Or maybe going to mom's again?

How hot is it over there? It's going to be in the 90's today (farenheit, sorry I don't know celseus), which is brutally hot. I could not go without a shower. I have to shower twice a day to keep my sweaty pregnant hoo hoo fresh for baby! LOL!
