About Me,

My name is Dannell and I'm 30 years old. This is our 1st pregnancy, and we're so excited. We live in Coral Springs, Florida and I work as a receptionist at a large animal hospital. I also have Lupus SLE. Having this baby is a blessing, before this pregnancy I believed that I couldn't get pregnant. We been trying for a year and finally in November 2006 we became pregnant. Because of my Lupus I'm considered high risk, but because of the pregnancy my Lupus has gone into remission. So I feel great, and haven't felt this great in years. So now we must wait, and take it day by day and hope that all is well in the end. Congrats to all the expected soon to be moms and moms. I hope we all have a safe and healthy delivery and healthy baby's.

02/16/07

Had my ultrasound today @ 16 weeks 1 day and we found out we are having a BOY!! We actually found out at 12 weeks, but it was still too early to confirm. I had a feeling from the start. Doctor said that all looks good and that the baby is actually measuring big at 6 oz. So, so far she said that I've got a big baby. She also said I have a Placenta Previa, but not to worry because at 16 weeks a lot of moms have it and throughout the pregnancy as the uterus grows, the placenta previa corrects it's self. So that's what I'm hoping for. My next u/s in on 03/02/07, hopefully I'll have more answers by then.

2/28/07 ~~17 weeks and 6 days~~

I felt the baby kick tonight. It was so amazing. I asked my husband to put his hand on my belly, to see if anything would happen. He had it there for a minute or so and nothing happened, so he moved his hand away. I felt some movement and I placed my hand on the same spot my husband had his and suddenly there it was..a kick. It felt like someone had taken their finger and poked me, but from the inside out. I waited to see if it would happen again, but it didn't. I can't wait til I start to feel more. I also had an echo on the baby's heart...because of my Lupus. And the doc said the the heart looks beautiful, no problems and the heart sounds great. I'm so happy, everything is going so good.

3/30/07--I found out today that I still have a placenta previa. That's where part or the whole placenta covers your cervix. My placenta did move, so I still have a small piece near my cervix. The doctor did say that there's still time for it to move, but if I start to have any bleeding to stop what I'm doing and go straight to the hospital and not to let them put their hands in me. So now I'm on pelvic rest. It just scary when the doctor gives you a warning like that. So hopefully my placenta will be pulled upward as my uterus continues to grow. I hope!! Other then that my little guy Darren is doing great, growing, kicking and moving. He now weighs 1 pound 1oz. and I've gained a total of 18 pounds.

4/27/07 ~~26 weeks & 1 day~~

Went to get my monthly ultrasound today with the Maternal Fetal Specialist and she said the baby looks great. He is no longer breach, he's head down, he now weights 2lbs. 3oz, and my placenta has pulled away from my cervix. So no more placenta previa.

6/17/07--Update...I'm having a minor Lupus flare up. It's the 1st one I've had since I got pregnant. So I guess that's pretty good. Had an ultrasound on Friday 06/15/07 and the baby weighs 5lbs.1oz. so far, and we saw the baby practicing breathing, that was so cute, we also saw hair on his head, I didn't know that was possible. So he's head down, and barley has any room left. At least that's how I feel. And so far I've gained 30lbs, I'm up to 170lbs. Boy does that hurt to say. I start to go in once a week now for stress testing, starting 06/21/07. So I'll just keep up dating as the weeks get closer!!!
