About Me -

Well, I'm currently single and living in Japan working as an English Instructor. This is my first pregnancy, and certainly was NOT planned, BUT does not mean unwanted. The father (who is Japanese) is, well wishy washy at best, and seems to be getting better adjusted, but you know how that can go. I do plan on raising the baby here in Japan, even if its as a single mother (giving that my job will still be available after maternity leave). It will be difficult without the physical support of my family and close friends, but I will just to have to take things as they come. I'm super excited about what my little one will bring into my life, it all still seems a bit surreal to me.

Another member posted this link recently to a documentary.
"THE BUSINESS OF BEING BORN"
I HIGHLY recommend viewing this video. Its about natural birth vs hospital birth and will hopefully open your eyes to what really goes on when giving birth in the United States. I didn't have much if any faith in the American medical system, and after watching this, I have even less. I'm glad to be having my child in Japan and hopefully can figure things out here and find a great midwife.

pregnant, funny

Not a bad idea! I think that my husband and I will just combine our b-days this year, they are only 12 days apart so....but who knows, maybe someone will have the same idea as you and I will get a surprise!

Ok no i dont' want participate in the actual ceremonies, don't i'm not quite sure what they entail haha. Also I meant to put how drinking tea is like a fine art just like it is to "The English". They love tea time haha.

Hey thanks for the reply back!
I have been in other countries but Japan was the only place my real goal was and hopefully if everything works out I'll be there next year March or April. This may sound unusual but is there a such thing as a Tea house, I know they have sushi bars. I just know that green tea and other types of organic teas are like a fine art, just like the English haha. I love green tea and all other types of tea and wondered if they had any such establishment that specialized in just that art.

I think every woman on this site is hoping for much the same thing.

Hey if I'm not mistaken you are in Japan. How is it? I'm supposed to go there March or April, it will be on base in or at Yokota I believe. :-)

iLoVeMyJj - Tuesday, 22 July
hey girl congrats again. do you know what your having yet.

Jacks1 - Tuesday, 22 July
I was wondering when you would show him to us! Well he looks like a decent bloke to me.

Jacks1 - Monday, 21 July
I think you should count your lucky stars! You look amazing - there def is a bump there, you're just one of the lucky (and obviously very fit ones) who don't show as much as the rest of us (fat ones!). When is your 20-week scan due? - that'll alleviate your fears. Also, I don't feel movement for like a week between "movements", but then I am a bit more plump than you so I might not feel it as much as you would. Don't worry, I don't think if you have any major cramping accompanied by bleeding that you have any reason for concern! Relax & enjoy! Glad that the boyfriend is "playing ball" too! Good for you! I'm fine too, although my shape has totally changed, I don't even have a midriff anymore - how depressing! x

wow what a neat little bump you have for 18 weeks. fingers crossed it stays that way and you wont suffer with those awful stretch marks.

Jacks1 - Monday, 21 July
Hey! Hope you are well - when are you updating your belly pics?! Would love to see how you've grown in comparison too!
How are you otherwise? x

Hello how are you doing! We have a ultrasound scheduled for Aug 1st when is your appt?

jalatalo - Saturday, 12 July
Oh, and I know, my ex boyfriend couldn't deal with any of my irritableness either. He was constantly calling me bitchy or lazy because I was sooo tired during the first trimester and felt nauseated and didn't really want to go out. We had also been dating for not a long enough time--since FEBRUARY! But he really should have been thinking about consequences when he was having sex...sad but true.

Bleh.

jalatalo - Saturday, 12 July
You're in Japan!? wow. were you born there? Or there because of boyfriend? I know though, I'm worried about financial stuff, too. He has a full time job and I don't--I'm putting myself through college and only work part time so I know if he were around, things would be easier. But I'm definitely going to look into child support....I need to get a lawyer. He's not going to be able to just walk away scott free.

We can do this! It's going to be hard and testing but we can and we will....keep your head up.

Things are good...I feel great getting bigger everyday. Do you have an ultrsound scheduled for the 28th? We have one scheduled for August 1st...I might find out the gender of the baby not sure yet. Is the daddy getting involved any?
