Friday, 18 July I know how you feel on the "poo belly" issue. I feel like I need to go but nothing comes. I would kill to have diarrhea right now (TMI). It's horrible, especially at night when you need to get some sleep. I would absolutely love to go into labour this weekend. I went to the hospital yesterday for a check up, he told me that if I don't go into labour by my due date I will have to go back at 41 weeks to book a c-section for 42 weeks, I really hope i don't go that long. He also said that if I do go into labour it would be best if I have an epidural in case I need to have another emergency c-section. He said that there was a 70% chance of a successful vaginal birth and a 1 in 200 chance of my uterus rupturing, which isn't bad odds but knowing my luck I would be that 1 person it would happen to!!! So I think that I will probably have the epidural. nimzm2b -
Friday, 18 July Hi, Lets hope so! I'm not sure how much longer I can go either! I would love to have this baby tonite. I have been going on the exercise bike and went for a long walk today. People keep saying to me/ asking me "Not long now?", Try telling my baby that!!! He's way too comfortable in there. I can't wait to meet him

Thursday, 17 July Hi, I'm so glad to hear you're immune to chic pox. I know it can be a worry with your health when things happen in your pregnancy. Dont worry it wont be much longer now and you'll have your baby in your arms! Good luck! CareG -
Wednesday, 16 July Hey! Water broke at 7 am. Keep your fingers crossed for me that I'll go into labour within 24 hours (my strep B test was negative, so risk of infection is low). Thinking of you!

Monday, 14 July I haven't tried anything to bring on labor yet. I think I might try nipple stimulation ( supposed to be good, and fun if you let your partner join, so I heard!) As for sex, what is it? My poor partner has had to suffer without it. I'm always asleep by the time he comes to bed or I'm way to exhausted, plus I dread to think what sort of a wild mess I am down there!!!

Monday, 14 July My whole pregnancy with Molly was totally different. The only thing I remember about felling different was less heartburn (I suppose because she had dropped) and when I had (TMI) a poo, I remember thinking that it felt easier to do than the other ones I had done during my pregnancy!!! But at the time I didn't realize that that was my body clearing itself out. With this baby however, I'm still getting chronic heartburn and I still can't go to the toilet without it being painful. (sorry way TMI !!!) I think I'm about the same as you 3-5ths. Yet again maybe we will both just suddenly drop at the last minute. With Molly I was 3-5ths engaged at 38 weeks then had her at 39 wks 3days. nimzm2b -
Monday, 14 July Hi I'm exactly the same, people keep saying "your huge, your going to be early", but I don't think I will. I don't feel like he will come anytime soon, although I would love him to! But he is still sooo active and I haven't "dropped" much yet. I think he's too comfy in there. Wish I could say the same, especially at night!

Monday, 14 July Hurray! Yeah I'm doing great, Dave and I got a TON done this weekend, in terms of the nursery and the guest room, which is amazing! And I am sleeping better, although I still have MEAN heartburn! kkintheky -
Monday, 14 July My neighbor 's husband had the chicken pox, he broke out the day their son was born. He was born 5 weeks early and had to stay at the hospital for 2 weeks, inwhich her husband wasn't allowed to come up and see him. I'd make sure to let your dr know, so they can take a the precautions needed bennab -
Monday, 14 July I had a chicken pox scare a few months ago. I called my doctor and they were able to do a simple blood test, however it took several days to get the results. Everything came back fine, but you'll definately want them to test. newmommyj -
Monday, 14 July if the kids chicken pox were already scabbed over, hes no longer contagious. when iwas working, id see all these kids with chicken pox walking around, and it was pissing me off that parents would bring them out n public. that is, until my mom told me they werent contagious anymore CareG -
Monday, 14 July Hey!
I wouldn't freak out, but you may want to get tested, as IF you got anything, it'd more than likely be shingles over chicken pox, and those can be really painful...I assume also not best for the baby! I'm sure you're fine though, let me know how it turns out!

Monday, 14 July Hi, I was in close contact with someone who had shingles (virtually a bad type of a strain of chicken pox) with my 1st pregnancy. I was nursing at the time and was around the 12 week mark, which is boarderline for being open to complications in those early stages of development. I spoke to one of the doctors in the hospitals ED where I was working and he said I should be fine if I had had the immunisation or had chicken pox myself previously. Because when you have had either of these and you come in contact with chicken pox again it usually stimulates an immune response of antibodies to combat the disease. HOWEVER it is not good for a preggo lady to be in contact with chicken pox so you should still see your doctor. The good thing is you are quite far along in your pregnancy so it is less likely to affect you or your baby as badly. Just remember at 38 weeks your baby is full term and is therefore better able to cope with illnesses, and it is unlikely to affect the babys physical development as she is pretty much fully developed. My daughter was in very close contact with her cousin kissing and cuddling together when she was about 6 months or younger the day before he came out in chicken pox, and even prior to that had closee contact. She came down with a fever and was wingey around a week later and had 4 small spots. I just gave her panadol, but was never 100% sure if this was chicken pox for her. I was still breastfeeding at the time and believe this definately helped protect her, even though I've been told it shouldnt help at all cos it isnt an antibody passed on in breastmilk. If you are wanting other info and are worried do a web search on it. Good luck! MommyWonder -
Monday, 14 July I just went through the pox with my boyfriend's daughter. She lives with us almost full time. My doctor told me that I should be fine as long as I've had the pox before, but they did do a blood test in case and I came out clean. Just make sure that the child doesn't go anywhere near your baby stuff and if he has, just wash and disinfect it all. Just so you know, my step-daughter did have the vaccination and she still got the pox. We're just waiting for her sister to break out now :( nimzm2b -
Monday, 14 July Hi go to your doctor. I heard it isn't good at all for a pg women to get chicken pox or come into contact with someone with them, but speak to your doctor just in case. babylove723 -
Sunday, 13 July Just wanted to let you know that I have finally made some progress. I am 2cm dilated and 80% effaced! Yay! I also lost my mucous plug this morning, but I know that doesn't always mean labor is coming. But I am hopeful! I have had the worst time sleeping the last few nights. I have been having contractions (only at night) and they are not consistant. Just enough to keep me from getting any sleep! I am a little nervous because when the doctor checked me he couldn't tell if the baby was still head down so I go for an ultrasound Friday. I hope he is because I don't want an c-section, but I have a really good feeling that he is not head down. I can feel two bulges right under my ribs on either side of my belly button so I am thinking that he may have flipped himself around? He is also not moving much at all in the last few days. I hope it is just because he is getting ready to come soon!! How are you doing?
