Easter 08- Jaida and Mommy!

Daddy and Jaida-Easter 08 (Doesn't she looks exactly like him!)

Jaida 4 weeks old. She has my eye color (that's the only thing she has of mine, LOL).
Hi everyone! My husband and I will be married (Oct. 28, 2005); going on two years this Oct. However, we have been together since we were 15 y/o! We just closed on our first house on April 2nd and on May 4th we found out that I was pregnant! Talking about good (God's) timing, huh? Luckily we have enough bedrooms to accommodate the new one. We have been blessed with 2 wonderful boys; Donovan is 9 and Jadon is 2 1/2. So you can imagine what my house is like. I constantly hear feet running through the house and the bouncing of basketballs (this includes my husband, lol). Now, I'm praying God blesses us with a little princess. However, I will try to be happy either way as long as it's healthy he he. I wish all of you the best on your pregnancies and I will keep you posted on my progress... Be Blessed!
Donovan, my 9 yr old!

Both of our handsome boys, Donovan (9) & Jadon (2 1/2)!
Birth Story:
Well, I went to sleep as usual on Tuesday night, dreading the thought of having to go into work the next morning. I never sleep that good so I was in and out of sleep all night. At 3:00am I heard my 3 yr. old waking up so I decided to go in his room and take him to the rest room so he wouldn't pee in bed. I got him back in bed and went to lay back down. About 3:30am while laying in bed I felt as if I had peed on myself so I go up and went to the bathroom. It wasn't a lot so I cleaned up and got back in bed. About 2 mins. later I felt it coming again so I got back up and went to the bathroom, but this time it was more than before. I still let my husband sleep but decided I would lay down again but shortly afterwards I started having slight contractions. I started to time them for about 15 mins. and they were about 3-4 mins. apart. I woke my husband and told him something was wrong so he woke up and asked me what should we do. I told him lets wait a little longer and time the contractions more. After a while I suggested we call the hospital and they told me to come in. My husband decided to ask me if he had permission to take a shower, lol. He did but then he had the nerve once he got out of the shower to ask me if I would iron his shirt while he got dressed!!! I WAS IN PAIN but I thought it was a little funny that he was being so calm. I ironed it but promised him that I would tell this story to his little girl and everyone else for the rest of his life! LOL! Well, I called my mom to come over and watch the boys while we went so we didn't make it to the hospital until about 1-1 1/2 hours later. When we got there, they checked me and said my water had definitely broken but I was only a fingertip dilated. I guess they decided to let the labor progress since my water had broken. As the time went by they checked me again and I was at 3cm, about 60% effaced. By then, I had went through 2 IV's of pain meds and I couldn't take the pain anymore so I asked for the epidural instead. I HIGHLY RECOMMED THE EPIDURAL TO ANYONE WILLING TO TRY IT, LOL! After about 30mins. of getting the epidural, I felt NOTHING! I slept very well. The nurse came in to put the cathiter (sp) in and check my cervix (I don't know how much time passed). She said she could tell something was happening down there. As soon as she looked she quickly said she needed to run and get the doctor from down the hall and my husband (who was waiting in the waiting room with our 9 yr old while the cathiter was put in). They both came running in the room and everything happened so quickly from there. The doctor broke the bed down while the nurse prepared everything. I think I pushed about 5-6 times and Jaida was out! The Pediatriac nurses grabbed her and checked her to make sure everything was ok. They said she was breathing a little fast so they took her to the nursery to monitor her breathing. After a couple of hours, they came in and said they took her off the monitor and she was doing really well. They said they do this routine assessment on all the babies that come early and Jaida was measuring more like a 36 weeker than a 34 weeker. I was happy to hear that! :0) Later on that day they moved me to my own room and told me that now babies are roomed-in with the moms so I had the pleasure of waking up every 2 1/2 to 3 hours feeding her! That was before I told my husband he could take the boys home so he could get them off to school the next morning, so I was by myself! It was okay though, I enjoyed being able to bond with her alone. We were all discharged today (12/07/07) and here is...

This is what they had on her when they wheeled her to my room for the first time...SO CUTE!
Proud Daddy, he already can't put her down!!
05/15/07: Just thinking back...Let me tell you something that's funny/interesting! On April 29th we had our housewarming party. Two weeks prior I was getting prepared for the party, creating invitations, getting the house ready, and creating a registry at Target (my favorite store). Well, I did the registry and at the time I set it up I decided to make it available online so that I could manage it. I was at work and went to check on the registry to make sure everything was okay and I scrolled all the way down to the bottom. What do you think I saw?... a whole bunch of GIRL BABY CLOTHES, FURNITURE (CRIB, CHANGING TABLE, ETC), AND OTHER ITEMS (STROLLER, CAR SEAT, ETC). I thought to myself, "I need to hurry and get these things off my registry before my guest thinks I'm pregnant (of course this was before I found out I was in fact pregnant!). I didn't really pay it too much attention, although, a co-worker said that maybe it's a sign I'm expecting. I just brushed it off then. Now that I think back and now know I'm pregnant, I guess it must have been!...A sign straight from God telling me to "get ready and get your house in order for this new baby that's coming." LOL. What do you guys think? Any thoughts? I'm praying this means that I will be having a girl too!
05/24/07: Okay, so I went to my first OB appt. today and I am not further along than I hoped to be. My lmp dates were correct so I am 6.5 weeks; in my 7th week (if that makes sense). My due date is still the same. My baby is a bean right now. But I got to see the heartbeat! It was so cute! I don't have another u/s until my 20th week unless something goes wrong before then (God forbid). I have to start my prenatal pills today but I asked the doc to make sure she gave me some that would not cause me to be sick. So she prescribes some with extra B-6 in it. I pray they work! Since I had a vaginal pregnancy with my first son and a C-section with my 2nd son, the doc says I can chose which way to go with this pregnancy. I chose vaginal! For those of you who have had a C-section before understands why I chose the other route. With a vaginal pregnancy, once the contractions are over, they are over!! But with the C-section, I walked bent over for 2 weeks. Well, I pray everyone is doing well. Take Care! Be Blessed!
06/07/07: Yesterday, the throwing up part of my morning sickness has finally hit me! The horrible part is, the first time was early in the morning and I didn't have time to eat so I was basically throwing up my stomach lining. Talk about painful! It happened again yesterday evening. If I'm lucky, those will be my only two instances; I pray!! I feel sick all day long and I get about 2-3 headaches a day. I am so ready to start enjoying this pregnancy, seeing that it will most likely be my last (I'm contemplating on getting my tubes tied after this one). I just pray that I can start enjoying it sooner rather than later! Anyway, I wish everyone the best on their experiences...no matter if it's your first or your fifth time around! Be Blessed!
06/13/07: Well, I threw up again yesterday and it was just as painful as the first two times...although I did have something in my stomach this time. I'm constantly watching the calendar to see when i will reach the 2nd trimester. I am so ready for some relief!! While I was throwing up I was praying to God to make the time go by faster so that I won't feel like that forever. I can take the day-to-day nausea. I just knew this pregnancy was going to be much better than my first two but so far it seems like it's turning out the same way. I REALLY want to start enjoying this pregnancy! I think that when I'm sick all the time like this the baby can feel how depressed I am, and that can't be good! Well ladies, please pray that this all gets better soon. I hope everyone is doing well!! Be Blessed!
06/18/07: I woke up feeling really sick today; I kept feeling like I had to throw up. This all day sickness is getting to me. I had my second appt. today and I could not wait to get there b/c I was going to beg and plead for some medicine to stop this nausea. I didn't have to though. As soon as I told her that I was nauseaous she asked me if I wanted something and I quickly said yes. LOL. On a more positive note, I GOT TO HEAR THE BABY'S HEARTBEAT! She said that you usually can't hear it this early and for me not to get my hopes up but to my suprise she was able to find it; I was so happy! But, as soon as I was done with my appt. I walked to my car and started throwing up. UGH! I am so tired of feeling like this on a daily basis. I just took one of the pills the doc prescribed, so everyone pray that it works! So far, it looks like I'm going to be running to the bathroom really soon but I hope this feeling subsides...We'll see...
07/02/07: Well I'm now 12 weeks and 4 days pregnant. Seems like it took me a long time to get here. I started feeling ok but then yesterday I threw up again, but I think it's because I waited too long to eat dinner. Anyway, I pray it gets much better from here. I spoke to my mom this morning and she told me that she had a dream that I had twin baby girls. She even went into detail of what they were wearing. The weird thing is, everyone keeps asking me if I'm having twins b/c of the size I am now. It looks like I could be but I don't think so. I've only had one u/s but the tech only saw one baby at the time. Well, I won't have the u/s that tells me the sex for a while so I'll just keep praying that God gives me the desires of my heart. Be Blessed!
07/13/07: Well, I'm 14 weeks and still feeling the same! Ah, this awful feeling is sooo annoying. I wish it would just go away. I feel like I need to eat every 30 mins or so in order not to feel nauseaous. Eating crackers, toast and all that does not help me. I have come to the conclusion that I am just not good at being pregnant he, he! Anyway, I'm now just looking forward to 20 weeks so that I can find out what I'm having and start shopping! :0) That won't be until late Aug. sometime. I hope everyone is doing well and I wish you all the best. Be Blessed!
07/31/07: I'm now 16 weeks and 4 days and anxious to get to 20 weeks. I'm an impatient person so it's hard for me to wait for anything :0). I have been pretty sick lately and today is the first day I'm starting to feel better. For the past 4 days straight I have had a severe migraine. Yesterday morning I finally called the doc and they prescribed vicodin for me (I didn't think any pregnant woman could take that). I didn't want to put any risk toward the baby so I didn't take any. However the doc also prescribed some home oxygen therapy for me. An oxygen tank was delivered to my home so that I use when needed. I'm still getting sick and vomiting occasionally. It takes a lot of energy out of me. I'm praying that today is the start of a much better pregnancy for me. I have to wait another 4-5 weeks before I have my u/s to tell me the sex. I can't wait! Everyone take care and be blessed!
08/07/07: Yesterday I had an appt. and all went well. The doc only checked the heartbeat and asked if everything was ok. I told him that I'm still nauseaous and vomiting but he told me that it should end it a week or two. I'm kinda tired of hearing that because I was told that it should have ended when I turned about 14-15 weeks. Anyway, I was told about these nausea braclets and I'm going to try that. I hope it works! Has anyone tried them before and they worked for them? I find out the sex of the baby on Aug. 27th; I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it's a girl. I know God hears my desires though so I feel confident that I'm carrying a girl. Best of luck to everyone and I wish you all the best.
10/10/07: I know I haven't written in a longgg time so I've decided to update. At my last appt. I did the glucose test and a week later I got the call that I didn't have gestational diabetes. I was so thankful, however, they did tell me that my blood levels had gone down a little more. I was told to take my iron pills twice daily but I always forget to do so. I feel so bad! I hope my baby does not suffer b/c of my forgetfullness. My next appt. is on the 22nd and I think after that I start going every 2 weeks. I only have about 2.5 months left of this pregnancy and I'm so ready to see my little girl! I'm sure after all my complaining I'll miss being pregnant a little. There's not much else going on with me so I'll update later. Be Blessed!
11/14/07: I haven't updated in a minute so I thought I'd do so today. I'm having my baby shower this Sat. I wanted it to be kind of different than the traditional so I'm having it in the evening at my favorite resturant. It will be an all ladies night out of relaxation, food and fun...hopefully! I just keep having this thought that people aren't going to show up. I think I get that way with any type of function I have though; not sure why. I'm looking forward to it so that I can finally know what else I need to get for her. I don't have much time to purchase things seeing that she could possibly come next month! On a different note, I can't wait for Thanksgiving! I just want to eat and eat and eat! LOL! Hopefully, I don't get too much heartburn that day. We'll see. Until then, I hope you ladies have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
11/25/07: I guess it's time to update my page (33 weeks!!)...Thanksgiving was really good! I got to enjoy what I love doing...eating! LOL. Well, spending time with my family first....then eating! I haven't undated since the 17th so I'll explain how my baby shower went. As mentioned before I decided to have it on a Sat. evening at a resturant so I could have a relaxing day. I sent the invites out about 3 weeks before and then a reminder email appx. 3 days before. I had about 15 people confirm that they were going to attend. But, the evening of the babyshower when I was getting ready 2 of my friends called and said they couldn't make it...bummer. Well, I got to the resturant and in the end, only 9 people showed up and that included my mom, sister, mother-in-law and grandmother-in-law. It was still really nice, I just wish more people could have come because I enjoy being around people. But, I guess the ones that came were who I needed to be around anyway. Anyway, Jaida recieved a lot of really good gifts. There's still so much I need to buy and so little time!!! She still needs a stroller/car seat, swing, and high chair. I need to get a breast pump and other accessories. These will all come in time though.
BTW, I will post pics of her room as soon as possible. We had chair railing put up in her room so I could add some definition to her walls. I still need to put the letters up on her wall that spells her name but I'm painting them pink first. Other than that, I would like to get a glider/ottaman...then all I need is Jaida!!
12/01/07: (34 weeks): Okay ladies, I thought I'd update b/c I'm sitting here bored anyway! I have been having BH contractions on and off all day today. I decided not to go into work yesterday b/c I needed a day to rest but I ended up sleeping in a little then cleaning my house the rest of the afternoon. That sucked! But, it needed to be done. I have been having constant heartburn, especially in my back, and headaches lately. I don't know what's causing them but they are annoying. I have an appt. on Wednesday and I'm praying they do an internal exam. I want them to say that I'm further along than they thought or that I've started to dialate...LOL. Yeah right! I'm sure they won't but I can wish, can't I? My little girl moves all the time but I can tell she's cramped in there. I know she wants to come out just as bad as I want her out. I can't wait to see who she's going to look like. I'm praying I can make it at work until I go out on Christmas break on Dec. 21. That Friday I will be 37 weeks; after that I hope God is ready to present her to the world! Anyway, I put my Christmas tree up and some decorations but I haven't done ANY shopping yet. I really don't have much time either. I guess it will get done soon. Well, that's about all that's been going on. I'll update after my next appt. Be Blessed!
