About me...I am 28 and to be honest it seems surreal to even be a member, of what seems to be a cool site for parents to be since this is a very, very, very unexpected pregnancy....Its my first and even though I am 8 wks I think Im still in the shocked phase of things but I know that will soon pass...I hope right!! lol

I think I will leave it at that for now since Im sure to soon be posting a much less shocked and more excited "about me"...lol

Hi everyone!!....well I am past the shocked faze lol after about a month yes a month it started to sink in but I thank God that I havent had any m/s or anything so I was still like hmm... am I really pregnant!? well i had my 12 wk apt yesterday and I am very much pregnant with a bouncy baby inside and so now I am in the excited faze of this so I am hoping for the best and I wish you all the best as well....God bless and healthy babies!!

Hello to all the ladies and babies!! Ok so I had my 16 wk apt last tues and I have to admit I needed sometime before updating...Now the baby is great, active and seems to be right on track so thats good...but since I was so sure I would find out the sex it was a major let down when I didnt... See my baby (which I keep refering to as a he) had his lil legs in the narrow part of the uterus and he was moving them, just up and down and not opening them and so we could see....needless to say I was bummed...I feel a lil silly now but since I found a place to get an u/s before my next apt I am looking forward to knowing soon.... Also last night I had a dream I had my baby and it was a beautiful lil BOY! Maybe it was a vision or maybe just wishful thinking but wow he was amazing!! Other than that, I have officially told the whole world I am having a baby and that was really special too!! I am really getting use to the idea of being a mom although I hardly have any symptoms and Im not really showing just yet either so we'll see how it feels later but I still love the thought of having this growing, precious baby in me and I am excited to meet and love my baby like I have never loved before....

Hello Ladies. Well I am now 4 days overdue and have no consistent signs of labour. I've tried just about everything, even acupuncture, and am kind of over it now. Worse comes to worse baby Frazer will be here mid next week. I've just uploaded my professional pregnancy photos taken when I was 38 weeks. oh i forgot to add, some latching tips are: spend the day topless, and hold baby as much as possible, as the smell of you and easy access can help. get a nursing pillow, a regular one will do, as long as its fairly think and firm, so baby is positioned at the right height. stroke babys cheek when offering the breast, they have a natural reflex to turn toward the side that was stroked. wait till baby has a wide open mouth before they latch on, you need to have not just your nipple but most/all of the areola inside babys mouth for them to be able to get enough milk. spend the day in bed lying close to your baby relaxing. women used to have a months confinement with their newborns, so get to know one another and get feeding sorted, nowadays women are expected to bounce back into regular life straight away, which puts a lot of pressure on a new mother and her baby.

i read study once, about supplementing-the basic ised was, most mothers attemp to nurse before offering a bottle. this meant a baby would 'put up' with the breast before getting the bottle, which they preferred due to ease of feeding. this study anyway, studied the effects of babies/mothers who did this the other way around. they found that once the babies initial hunger was sated, (they gave typically half a normal sized feed) the baby was relaxed enough to concentrate on breastfeeding. mothers who supplemented this way had higher chances of both continuing to feed and fed for longer than those to supplemented after attempting to nurse.you have to keep in mind that for your milk to flow, the breast first has to signal the brain that there is nipple stimulation, then the brain has to signal the hormones which tell the breast to let down. where a bottle is instant. pumping is a lot of hard work, i know! i had such painful problems with my first, i pumped exclusively for the first few months, before i could get her to feed properly. its really rough on a new mother!i think the most important thing to do is get enough rest yourself, tiredness makes even the strongest of us weak at the knees! then when you are feeling rested, try again then, if you are facing difficulty, trying when you are exhausted isnt likely to end well.

yes, latching on correctly was the problem with my two. i think its the most common problem-which ends up causing all sorts of other problems. do you use bottles or pacifiers? sometimes babies learn to prefer the faster flow of bottles, and refuse to latch on.have you tried expressing a little milk before trying to latch him on? the small and taste can encourage babies to latch. when bub is latched on, are his lips splayed out-like fish lips? thats what you want. almost all or all of your areola in his mouth, with splayed lips. and how was his birth? sometimes babies who were in a long or hard labor have more difficulty feeding than those born easily.message me anytime, and i will be happy to help out :)

To all the ladies who wished me luck I'd like to say Thank You. I had my baby on the 15th at 3:09am. I was in labor for 6hrs and I pushed for only 40min. For my first time it was very quick. I only had to have the Pitocin at the end because after I was fully dialated and ready to push my contractions stopped. Now I have a beautiful and healthy son whom we named Michael Viktor. Again thanks ladies for the support throughout my pregnancy. Much love to all of you and Congrats to the ones that have given birth and Good Luck to the ones that are about to. Baby Dust to all.
