Welcome to my page!
Hello everyone and thanks for visiting!
I am a mom of 2 girls ages 14 and 7
, and I am expecting a new little one in August. The new one was a bit of a shock, but such a happy, welcome surprise!
I am an older mom I guess (sounds so ancient), I am 36 years old and will be 37 when the baby is born. I am a little afraid of the age thing, but from what I have read from other moms in the same age group, things should be fine. I believe that!
My first daughter was an emergency c-section and my second daughter I had a VBAC. Neither delivery was much fun since each held its own problems. With the c-section I lost a lot of blood and was anemic for a long time after. I was as white as a sheet and very tired. The VBAC was not a smart move for me and I wish I would have had a repeat c-section. I pushed for almost 3 hours and ruined my pelvic floor, I had a cystocele, rectocele, and a uterine prolapse from all of the pushing. I was incontinent for over a year later until I decided to have the repairs done.
I had the repairs done when my youngest daughter was almost 2 years old and it was wonderful! I no longer wet my pants when I sneezed or jumped. I did still have some bulging from the cystocle and my uterus was lower than normal. The doctor who did the surgery recommended that I not get pregnant so I wouldn't ruin my repairs. Needless to say, I am a worried about my repairs not holding up.
This pregnancy is such a gift! I had such a hard time getting pregnant with my youngest daughter, it took over a year doing temps and charting, and I had a miscarriage before her, it was very draining. This time we were not trying to get pregnant, just tossing the thought around a little, we were even using control methods, and when was a day late I thought maybe I should take a test since I am as regular as clockwork. Sure enough, POSITIVE!! The hubby and I were surprised but thrilled! It was such a miracle to me that it didn't take a ton of trying, or even trying once for that matter!
So far, I have had 3 doctor's appointments with 2 ultrasounds, one just to confirm the pregnancy and one to calm my fears since I was spotting a few times. Things look good so far, the baby has a strong heartbeat and is on track for growth development. Yeah!
A little about me, I am a fulltime student, I work as a youth director at a church and I have been married to the same loving guy for 15 years. I don't really have any hobbies, but I love to watch movies when I can - I especially enjoy renting them, curling-up in my chair with a blanket and indulging in a huge bowl of popcorn!
I would love to meet other moms that share some of the same things I have going on. Feel free to stop by and say hi! And congrats to you!

Maybe this will be our boy!! 3/24/08 It IS our boy!!
