We found out pretty quickly (early April) we were expecting again. We had been trying for awhile but it wasn't working so we thought it would not be possible for us to concieve again naturally and started planning our first step for improving our chances. Before we could proceed with this I ended up with 2 positive tests as well as the confirmation blood test from the hospital the next day. The best part was when I found out, my parents were visiting us for the week and we got to tell them in person this time instead of via webcam. Then at the 9 week ultrasound we found out twins were on the way. Needless to say, we went from thinking we were simply blessed to have our son and could not have another child, to finding out we were going to end up with three kids! In the same week we discovered the twins I was laid off from work... only to get hired back full time a couple months later. What a roller coaster of events. We just found out on the 30th we are having a girl and a boy. The girl was moving all over and made it a long wait to see the other baby. When we finally got to 'baby B' the hand was in the way-- hubby knew right away that meant it was a boy and he soon moved his hand to confirm this. Now we are going to a specialist every 2 weeks for checkups since I am considered high risk with the twins and my advanced maternal age (aka- old lady).UPDATE- now seeing specialist every week and am on bedrest due to contractions and shortening cervix. I was not able to go back to work to start another school year and am trying my hardest to do as little as possible to help our chances of prolonging this pregnancy and get 2 healthy babies.
