Birth Story:

At 4:30 am on October 4, 2007 I arrived at the Hospital for a scheduled induction. I was 38 1/2 weeks pregnant. I was checked into my room around 5am, hooked up to the fetal monitors and had an IV started. I was 2cm dilated and 85% effaced. I was having mild contractions, but nothing that was unbearable.

Around 8am Dr. Cole came in to check my progress, I was 4 cementers dilated. She told me that she was going to come back around 9am to break my water. About 10 minutes after she left my water broke on it's own. A huge uncontrolable gush of fluid came rushing out and soaked my bed sheets. (makes me happy that I was at the hospital and not some where in public. That would have been embarassing.) After my water broke, My contractions were getting more intentse. Thats when I called for the anesthesiologist and my epidural. To my surprise the epidural was painless I didn't feel a thing.

After my epidural was in place, they attach a fetal heart monitor to the top of my babys head. It was more efficient then the heart monitor around my tummy. I had a foley catheter put in. I thought it was going to hurt, but it didn't. I couldn't even feel it. It was nice not having to get out of bed every 5 minutes to use the restroom.

At 10am the nurse came in and checked me again. I was almost a full 6cm dilated. After she checked me, another huge gush of fluid came rushing out, It was like my water broke again... this would happen another 2 times before I finally gave birth. It was weird. I was filled with tons and tons of extra fluid. Since I was progressing so fast, I started calling all of my friends and family to tell them ok any time now. HAHA lol boy was I wrong. Pretty much after I called everyone, I stopped dilating. From this point on I just did a lot of waiting. During my time of waiting, my epidural kept wearing off so I had to keep calling the anesthesiologist for more shots of pain medicine. I probably got about 5 shots of extra pain medicine through out the day. The pain just kept comming back. The only bad part about the pain medicine was, it made me very nauseous for about 5 minutes and I would throw up everytime. But it was worth it, it was like a gift from heaven. Instant pain relief and it made me feel so relaxed but also very sleepy.

Ok so around 8:45 pm after several hours of waiting I was finally 9cm. The nurse had me start pushing, so I could start moving my baby down the birth canal. I had been pushing for a while and I wanted to give up, I had horriable prssure pain and was so tired. When Dr.Cole arrived, I asked her to please do a C section. She agreed but reminded me that it was major surgery and the recovering time would be a lot longer. Dr. Cole left and my best friend Mr. Anesthesiologist came in and gave me more pain medicine. ahhh the pain was gone again. Dr. Cole came back and since my pain was subsiding again, I started to have second thoughts about the C section. I talked myself back into having my baby naturally. I kept telling myself, I can do this. So finally around 9:20pm I was almost a full 10cm and it was time to really start pushing.

I pushed and pushed. And just when I thought I was pushing as hard as I could, the nurse was encouraging me to push harder. Saying you can do this Diana, you're doing a great job. It was actually a very good motivator. I pushed for about 45 minutes. So it was a total of about 2 1/2 hours from first push to last push. Finally at 11:17 pm out popped my little girl. Or I should say my BIG girl. Sydney Nicole McAndrews weighed in at 9lbs 13oz and was 22in long. I had just given birth to a giant. I had to get an episiotomy but it wasn't bad, I was still numb from the epidural so I didn't feel a thing. lol My recovery was fast and painless, things have healed up quite nicely and I'm feel pretty much back to normal. Holding my daughter for the first time was one of the most exciting and joyous times of my life.

**Before Sydney was born.. Read Below**

Your 1st trimester: January 05, 2007 to April 05, 2007. (0 - 12 weeks)
Your 2nd trimester: April 06, 2007 to July 19, 2007. (13 - 27 weeks)
Your 3rd trimester: July 20, 2007 to October 12, 2007. (28 - 40 weeks)

I have had a wonderful pregnancy so far.. I only had some killer morning sickness during my first trimester, other than that... just the normal pregnancy symptoms.

I found out May 24, 2007 that we are

Bobby and I are sooo excited about having a daughter. All Bobby can talk about is, how he can't wait to hold his little baby girl for the first time.
I am . Bobby and I will be baby on OCTOBER 12, 2007. She will be here just in time for HaLLoWeeN. I can't wait!! We have went through many names, but we finally found one we can agree on. We decided to name our baby girl

My pregnancy story so far...
Well, I guess my whole journey started off one night when my boyfriend (Bobby) and I went out and had a couple of drinks came home and well, weren't as careful as we should have been. Now, I don't know the exact date of which this happened, but I can almost guarantee thats how this pregnancy got started. The "pull out" method had failed us. haha lol ~ (just a side note): Bobby and I have been together for the last 3 1/2 almost 4 years and we have lived together for the last year and a half. So it's not as bad as it sounds.. It actually makes me feel bad that I was able to get pregnant so easily.. I mean, I see all these women on here TTC, having to take fertility drugs and mark out on there callendars ovulation days. The're really struggling and emotionally and physically drained.. And here I am some 21 year old, who wasn't even trying to get pregnant and was being careless.. and opps i'm pregnant. I just wish I could give my baby making abilities to all the women who are hoping and praying to get pregnant.. So baby dust to all who are TTC. So bascially what I'm tring to say here is that our daughter was not planned. In fact I was in shock that i was pregnant! But, reguardless of how our daughter started her life in this world, Bobby and I couldn't be happier with the outcome. She is our new pride and joy and we already love her to death.

During the first trimester..
I had horriable morning sickness.. bascially I compare this to death. I seriously felt like I was going to die and not make it through this pregnancy. I was sick ALL of the time - morning, afternoon and night. I lost like 10lbs at the begining of my pregnancy due to the extreme vomiting. I couldn't eat and I could barely drink.. I was so miserable. To make things worse one of my friends was pregnant at the time.. and she was always telling how great she was feeling. grrr i wanted to punch her in her face : ). Plus on top of feeling sick, i was always sooo damn tired. I could not get enough sleep for the life of me. I would come home straight from work and sleep until the next morning, until had to get up for work and do it all over again. I feel like I missed out on three months of my life due to vomiting and sleeping. Everyone kept telling me it would get better, oh course I didn't believe them, but eventually it did get better. What they say is true, well true for me anyways.. Was that one day you will wake up and be hungry and the morning sickness will have just went away.. It's like it never happened. Thats when I knew I was on to my second trimester.

Second trimester here I come...
During my second trimester I started feeling really good. I got a lot of my energy back, which was great. I finally started to grow a pregnant tummy and not just a fat one. I got to find out the sex of our baby and I finally was able to feel her move and kick. I have to say the middle of my pregnancy was really good, I didn't mind being pregnant. I think really the only complaints had during my 2nd trimester were.. the growing pains of my uterus, thoes were not fun. Oh and for like a week every night I would wake up with this pain in my side, but a little bit more towards my back. Well this pain would wake me up and bring me to tears.. it hurt sooooo bad. I still have no clue what was the cause of it but, I hurt something awful. I also read a ton and I mean a ton of pregnancy books... seeing as my boyfriend is the general manager of a books-a-million he was always bring me home more and more books to read. So i kinda feel like i'm an expert on this pregnancy thing.. lol if your interested in reading some books just ask me and i can give you a few that were very informative and interesting. Currently i'm reading the book first time parents by: Dr. Miriam Stoppard.. I really like this book. Because not only does it describe things it will also show you pictures of what the're describing. Near the end of my 2nd trimester is when I started to really put on weight. This is when i started to crave sour stuff, I just remember being more hungry during this time in my pregnancy.

Finally 3rd trimester.. I have made it...
Well currently I am in my final strech of pregnancy. I am soo HAPPY that I have made it this far. Looking back several months ago.. I thought I would have never made it this far. I honestly can say that I am done being pregnant. I am getting so sore all over, nothing helps sitting, standing, walking, sleeping, breathing, yawning... it all hurts. Plus I am just getting so anxious to meet my little girl. Yesterday she kicked her daddy in the face. He LOVED it! He just thought it was the coolest thing, so he kept trying to make her do it again.. but her already being like her mother was being stubborn and decided that one time was enough and she didn't feel like doing it again. lol My doctor is concerned that i'm gaining to much weight, I agree I have been eating pretty much what ever I want.. not making as healthy choices as iIshould be.. so with these last few weeks I have left.. I'm making a promise to myself that I'm going to make healthier eating choices and drink more water. cut down on some of the carbs. B/C thats mostly what I have been eating... yummy yummy carbs.. oh how I love them. Plus no more cheese enchiladas : ( I love them soo much. I want some right now. It has been a long long journey and soon it will come to an end.. and I'm sure I'm going to miss it, So i'm just going to try and really enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy and try and enternalize the feeling having my little one growing and living inside of me. remember the kicks and rolls, and the aches and pains.. b/c before i know it she will be here.. then she will grow up and be out on here own starting a family one day. (tear) lol awwww I am SOO excited, I can't wait for her to get here. : )

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

To those of you who responded, thank you, your support is greatly appreciated. In answer to the couple of questions: I only have to fast from sundown Saturday to sundown Sunday, I've done it before, I'm just not "feeling" it this time. I have to have my head covered at all times in public. In my household or in a household that is women only, I can take it off.
And to Tess42~~AMEN! I will NOT be bothered either with a religion just lets me be.
I also appreciate all the comments on Mo, he is such a sweet baby! Even though he refuses to stay down for his second nap at the moment! All you ladies are great! Thank you and again be blessed!

Hello my friends!

I am not well. Physically I'm fine, even though I haven't had a period in 3 months. I am spotting so to speak and saw some red today, but no real period, and of course I'm not pregnant. I would WELL be showing now if I was. So anyway, spiritually and emotionally I'm beaten. It's hard living the lifestyle hubby and I live without a community. Meredthy0315 knows what I speak of because she lives the lifestyle too. I have a day coming up where I have to fast, no choice, and I really don't want to nor do I care what happens if I don't. I eat kosher and for the last week or so, all I've wanted to do is walk into a fast food place and order whatever I want. There are no kosher restaurants in our area so hubby and I stopped eating out 3 years ago. I keep my head covered as most of the observant woman who follow Judaism do and lately I've been walking outside to put my clothes in the laundry without my head covered. Granted it's out the side door where I can't be seen, but when I exit my house, I'm go cover my head in case a man walks by. I'M TIRED LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it wasn't for Mo, I would have kicked it a looooooooooooong time ago, but my son deserves better and so does my hubby. I start school in 2 weeks and I'm ready and excited, but I'm to the point where I'm beginning to not care again. I want to be where the others living the lifestyle I'm living, someone I can call or go see when I'm having problems, go eat in a kosher restaurant whenever I want to, take my son out for his first kosher meal when he starts eating "real" food , and being able to spend time with others who understand. No I'm not Jewish, but I live the lifestyle and my friend who is Jewish tells me that Charles and I are more Jewish than some of her friends born that way because of how we live. I hear it will get better, but when?????!!!!! I just want to feel better.

Other than that, Mo is VERY well! He hates chicken though! Tried it today and for the first time he gagged and then spit it out each time I gave it to him. We'll try again at nine months, it'll hold in the freezer for 10 weeks.

Thanks for being there my friends! Be blessed!

New pictures of Mo and a new update. Take care my friends!

niseybear - Sunday, 20 July
Hello everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I won't be on as much. Nothing is wrong, I just do better when I visit here every 4 days or so instead of everyday. We are well with the exception of my husband working 6 days a week and not having any family time. Today (sunday) is supposed to be our day together, but he's at work. I'm hoping he's feeling okay when he gets off and maybe if it's not too late, he, Mo, and I can go for a drive and then later him and I to a movie. Work is cool and I'm only one month away from starting school. I know what I want to be when I grow up....A TEACHER! I don't want to be a server when I'm 50. I only need 4 courses for my AA and then I can start my work for my BA in elementary education. I'M SCARED TO DEATH, but I know if it's meant to be, G-d will see to it. Mo is 7 months old now and is an official crawler! He only scoots every now and again. He was standing up in his crib this morning and I just about died! He was more on his toes, but it was so cute! Looks like he may be walking soon. I haven't breastfed in nearly a month and a half and it's odd, I do miss it. What a closeness Mo and I had while I was doing it. We still have that bond, but breastfeeding made it even more special. I haven't had a period in about 3 months now, but I did bleed for about a day and a half last month. I'm going to talk to my OB if I don't see a cycle once I hit the green pills on my BC. Of course I'm not pregnant, no signs whatsoever. And I know what they mean when they say, once you've been pregnant, you know instantly the next time you are. I took 2 tests over 2 months and of course BFN and I'm okay with that. I want to enjoy Mo for a little while longer. And this house just isn't big enough for another little one. Our stimulus check arrived on July 7th and it was SO NICE to finally receive it. Money was low and now we're on the high end once again and I'm hoping it stays that way for a bit. Well, let me go, my little man has been in his activity center long enough watching Baby Einstein. He's such a good boy...even if he does wake up at 2:45 in the AM and doesn't go down again til nearly 4AM! Oh I was MAD this AM because I was SO tired. I put him back in his crib because I was upset and a few minutes later hubby stepped in and took over. I didn't hear him again til 6am and I was okay with that. Got him a bottle and he fell asleep about 30 minutes later and we BOTH slept til nearly 8:30!
Hope all you guys are well. Be blessed and take care!

niseybear - Monday, 7 July
Mo turned 7 months on the 4th of July! Where the heck did the time go??? He's such a BIG boy now! Although we had trouble in the Walmart buggy today. Don't think mommy had his little belt placed correctly. He fell to the side twice, but luckily never hit his head. He's in his new Britax car seat and it's SO much easier getting him in and out. I wanted to buy myself something for my birthday on Friday, but Walmart didn't have the DVD I wanted so I purchased some more clothes for Mo. If I can't buy for me then I will ALWAYS buy for Mo. I got him a puzzle that makes sounds when you put the pieces back in. It's so neat. It's called Farm Animals Puzzle. Got it for $10 at BELK'S.
I hope all of you are well. Take care!

niseybear - Friday, 27 June
Just wanting to say hello to you all. I hope each of you are well. Mo is no longer in an infant carrier. We moved him to his big boy car seat this week and I LOVE it! It's a Britax Diplomat and it's one of the best investments we've made! I went to the Sheriff's office to have it checked out and was told to follow Britax's instruction on forward and rear facing. I'm going to be turning Mo around VERY soon. It says to do it when he's over 20 pounds. The officer told me at first to keep him rear facing as long as possible but when his assistant read the side of the car seat he said nevermind follow Britax's instructions, they know that they're talking about! Took Mo shopping at Walmart yesterday and for the first time he got to sit in the buggy in the front! WOW! Such a big boy!! He reached for everything on the shelves. Even got a loaf of bread down when mommy wasn't looking! I had one of the buggy covers in it and it has toys on there for him, but Mo was more interested in what was on the shelf.

Well, I hope all of you are good. I haven't received messages in about 3 days and I hope everything is okay.

Blessings to you all!

Denise
