Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

My internet connection has been down - damn internet! :-)

I went for my 41+3 at the hospital today and they are inducing me slowly on friday when I am officially 42 full weeks. She could barely strip my membranes as she almost couldn't get a finger in there...I guess that must mean I am only around 1cm dialated then..not sure?!

How are you? What's happened while I've been "gone"?

I'm going to vote that your stomach pain was either gas or constipation...I read an article that says the baby is so big it really cuts off the bowel and not everything can get out. I had bad pains today too so I ate 2 bowls of raisin bran and things got better for me. Plus you feel gas in a different place since all the organs are so compressed..when I have gas the top of my stomach hurts...

The IV was worse than the epi, so you can watch that one & be less stressed. :P My actual IV didn't hurt at all. They numb up the area first. But the first nurse I had didn't numb the exact area & then she couldn't find a vein. I have weird, squirrley veins. :) She called in a second lady who did it by feel instead of by sight & I never even felt it. It was grand. They numb your back quite well for the epi, too. I don't think I felt much at all - the numbing shot was a little sting & burn. That was it. Pushing was work, but didn't hurt at all. :) My kid was 9 lbs, though. LOL

I had a lovely (as well as it could be, anyway!) induction experience last Fri. If you are okay w/ pain relief, just ask for your epidural when your contractions are painful & annoying. No one TOLD me to do this during my first induction, and I was MISERABLE for several hours. This time, I had 1-2 hours of moderately strong contractions at 1-2 minutes apart, then asked for my epi. It took 50 minutes to get the dr. in there & give it to me, so don't wait too long. It really didn't hurt. The worst part was sitting, hunched over the bed during contractions (ouch!) while she was inserting it. After that, I basically read & talked w/ DH, and dozed in & out for about 3 hours until I was ready to push!! :) Can't much complain about THAT!!

Congrats on losing your mucus plug. I think you will probably start up labor sometime today so I wouldnt worry about calling your dr especially since you have an appt later today. CONGRATS AND GOOD LUCK....let us know

really it works that fast awsome, see someppla re telling me that it doesnt give u contraction, I heard it stimulates the uterus and gives u contrations , then women are telling me nono it helps u ot go over due and helps muscles, so i wasnt sure if it was true or not!

I know! these doctors think they know everything, and for the most part they do, but they definitely werent there when we had sex! They can never be wrong i tell ya! good luck

It is too crazy. I am having weird rib pain too. Yesterday I thought I was having some kind of heart attack. When I tried to take a deep breath, it would hurt in that area then I figured it was rib or muscle pain. It would take my breath away! Today it feels better. Very strange.
