pregnancy calendar

More....Hi !

Well, we found out that we were expecting Feb. 13th. Actually, it was around 2am so it was officially Feb 14th...that's a nice Valentines Day present :) This is our first baby and all that we are focused on right now is continued prayer for a healthy pregnancy with no problems/difficulties. I also pray that for each of you as well!

This is kinda overwhelming, yet AWESOME at the same time. I cant believe Im carrying a little one in me right now...How are we gonna get him out, though (just kidding!) We just moved to a new city (San Antonio) last week and I dont know anyone. We wont be here long enough to develop any friendships (moving overseas in May), so I hope this will be a forum where I can get to know people who are going through what I am and get some advice/confidence when needed. Thanks for reading...

Stay Blessed! :)

I had the issue of my baby not engaging. I ended up getting induced at 8 days over with 3 cm dilation and about 90% effacement. Wait it out for as long as you can stand it. Things to consider as well is your baby's size. Bella didn't descend I think because she had her hands mushed next to her face so she wouldn't fit in my pelvis. However, about midway through my induction something happened because she started moving down and I ended up vaginal though my midwife told me after the birth she thought I would have been a c-section. Anyways, just try to wait and see if you can dilate or efface some so your more likely to labor if you need an induction. try walking and sex and all of that, walking helped me the most. Also raspberry leaf tea and evening primrose.

The same thing happened to me kindof except my little guy was is the correct position for the longest and then 3-4 days ago he decided to turn around, face out, and go diagonal and move up into my ribs. Im now carrying him really high compared to how low he was just a week ago. My dr suggested to do some pelvic tilts on all fours, bounce on a yoga ball with legs spread wide, and even go for a light job to move him down. Hope that helps

Hi,

I am being induced next Thursday. Isn't that an option the doctor mentioned? I hope it is an option for you. I am only 1cm dialated. It stayed the same for two weeks. This is the reason for dialation and because he is over 8lbs.

All the best.

Hey, just some encouragement.....it is very common to NOT be dilated at all before labor starts, especially with your first one......I wasn't at all with my son, and he did not drop until labor! Please don't let a doc talk you into a c-section just because nothing is happening yet.........believe me, it can ALL happen at the same time, and just because baby hasn't dropped yet or you're not dilated doesn't mean you won't spontaneously. Sometimes docs are not content to leave well enough alone........I mean, if you're 42 weeks and still nothing going on, maybe then........but to me it's way too early to be talking c-section without even knowing what your body can and will do.

Message to all This may be interesting to some of you. Seema`s email is seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hi there,

I work for a television production company based in the UK . We are currently making a documentary for ITV1 exploring the issues surrounding pregnancy and eating disorders. The film will be a thoughtful and insightful look into this extremely sensitive subject.

We’re in the research stage of our production and very keen to chat to women who are, or have been, pregnant whilst having an eating disorder.

If you’re interested in having a chat or finding out more about our documentary, it would be really great to hear from you. All communication would be in complete confidence.

You can contact me on: seema.modhvadia@rdftelevision.com

Hey there. I had the same aches and pains you have sleeping. I ordered the BACK N BELLY pregnancy pillow from Target and its AMAZING I can sleep comfortably !! Good Luck and take care.

Hi, I know it's good to sleep on your left side where your heart is. . .and sleeping with a body pillow, good luck!

km-dickson - Friday, 30 May
Ooooh yeah. My hubby did the same thing, trying to be all neutral, but it comes out sooner or later! Even with our second one (it's a boy too), he was hoping for another boy. Men! I swear, they could have 18 sons and no daughters and be happy!

I am getting the numb thing too, when I sleep on my side. The whole leg on top goes totally numb. Scary to wake up and your leg just feels like dead weight! I haven't found a solution either, so let me know if something ends up working for you.

Hey! My last period was jan. 16 also and I am 17wks today! So I would say 17wks but I guess go what they say!! Hope all is well and congrats on your pregnancy!!! :-)

ourfirstone - Thursday, 15 May
I think you would go by what the ultrasound says - the measurement of the baby - to best determine your due date. Just because ovulation can be different for everyone - so the date of your last period would put you in a ballpark, but the ultrasound would be more accurate. Good luck!

Thank you for the comment! Where are you going over seas? I can't imagine living away from our families, plus my mother in-law would kill me if we did! My brother in-law and his wife moved 5 hours away from us along with there two baby girls so she doesn't like the idea of us going anywhere haha! Oh and that is an awesome due date you have (wink wink).

Good luck dear! Let me know if you have any questions or just want to vent or talk. That's what I'm on here for. It's so exciting to find someone who is due just days before/after you! We go through a lot of the same things, as I've found. It helps realize other have the same questions, worries, and such. Hope you're doing great!
