Monday, 21 July Lucky! I am sweating like a stuck hog in my house! We only have an airconditioner in one room for my husband, he works graveyard. Have a great time on the water!! Have some fun for me! judi -
Sunday, 20 July I bought quite a few maternity clothes fairly early on, so as far as having something to wear, I'm pretty much okay. Sort of rotating between the same couple of dresses and about 3 tops/pants outfits. Getting a little tiresome, but as I said, I'd rather be buying stuff for when Baby gets here than buying more maternity dresses, at this point. Hope you got some nice things tho. A couple of months with nothing to wear would be pretty uncomfortable!!
Hope your weekend's been nice. It's Monday morning here but we have a long weekend so another day off today. It's supposed to be show holiday, and we'd like to go to the show, but it looks like being another wet miserable kinda day. We'll see. Hopefully it will fine up enough to go have a look at the show sometime through the day. brandyboo -
Sunday, 20 July My Dr's Nurse called me this morning she said she was in the office and told me I passed the only number that was a little high was my third blood draw. My fasting was 71 she said that was great but I felt like a zombie and didn't feel to great after that drink. ick, Yeah my husband went with me to keep me company and he ended up with a little cut from my finger nail on his hand cause I was sqeezing his hand so hard. lol, I am keepin my fingers crossed for you! I hear that most of us girls fail the first but pass the fasting one!! I know 10 more weeks and we get to see our little ones!! I cant WAIT!!

Sunday, 20 July Thanks.
I feel like some new maternity clothes would be nice, but we're getting so close now, that it hardly seems worth the investment! Think I'll just make do.
Your tubing does sound fun, even if you can't join in. Hope your day is awesome!

Saturday, 19 July Hey Nat,
Today was busy for sure...went to mandatory C-section class, followed by the nutritionist, followed by lunch, then a trip to see the nursery set we want, and babies r us---today was a half day following this diet and figer-sticking...not fun----I hope to the Lord you pass this test...I have all my fingers crossed for you! I beleive the frequency of meals will help me out though to keep my hunger down...
I am totally excited for you ---congrats on the nursey...what brand? I am in love with this Romina set...its beautiful beechwood and will cost me a crazy amount of money...almost $4,000!!! Uggh!--(This includes the convertible crib, mattress, dresser and changing station.) Of course this is why I will need to go back to work, because of course, my baby will need to be spoiled and have everything...LOL
Tell your hubby, you come first now, my dear...so the AC it is!!!
Are you going to baby classes yet? We have a great instructor...we are very lucky.
Well hang in there and keep cool this weekend...it is totally disgusting out!
Huggs and Love,
Lori Beth

Saturday, 19 July Hi there, I took my three hour test today and I felt so sick after drinking that goo again, I just about threw it up in the parking lot of the hospital between pokes. :) Luckly I kept it down, but the doctor had to poke the same vein four times, ( I hate needles so my veins hide..) and of course now I have a massive bruise on my right arm. Which is crazy due to the fact that I dont bruise very easy at all. How did your test come back? judi -
Saturday, 19 July Actually I feel okay this morning, as far as the nausea goes. And the weather has fined up, so having a lovely day, so far! We rode down to the morning markets and bought some fruit and hand-made jewelery, then stopped for a few groceries. It was nice.

Saturday, 19 July Nat,
That lower pain is the ligaments that are basically holding everything together in your lower abdomen...I usually get this as well, typically when I am standing or walking for long periods of time...nothing to worry about.
I go to the doc tomorrow for my GD diet I will be living on for the next 2.5 months---oh yes...and the finger pricks begin shortly thereafter 4x a day, begining on Sunday...sucks for me. I only hope everything goes well for you and you pass, so you don't have to deal with this mess!...hang in there!
Love and Huggs,
Lori Beth

Friday, 18 July yeah i REALLY dont want a c section, but at this point i'm fine with whatever as long as she's delivered safely and she's healthy.
hopefully we can keep our blood sugars under control so we DONT have ginormous babies!
my aunt had GD with her 2nd daughter and the baby was really big, i think 9 or 10 lbs, and they wanted to do a c section, but her in laws for some reason were so condescending about it and pretty much made her feel like she wouldnt be a real women if she didnt push her out. so she refused the c section and went into labor on her own, and had an awful time pushing her out, the had to use forceps and the dr was literally yanking the baby out, and her shoulder go messed up in the process. she couldnt use it for a while, and now she can, but like when she runs or something its sorta limpy and her side. my aunt was an idiot judi -
Friday, 18 July This is the first time I've ever had a test for GD, so maybe it's kind of a recent thing. Or I've just lived in odd places, where they're less thorough with antenatal testing and such!
Most of my pregnancy symptoms seem to have been quite manageable lately, but this morning I have nausea again, just like the morning sickness I had back in first trimester. Uggh!! judi -
Friday, 18 July Oh, so sorry hon. I thought you meant your pregnancy with your daughter. But yeah, we're getting close now, and should expect healthy babies! judi -
Thursday, 17 July Yeah, as you say, it's probably in your genes or something. I breezed through mine with a score of like 105 - well under the 130 or 140 they say is the cutoff, and yet I've gained like 35 lbs, so go figure!!
Least it's manageable and not long to go now, hey. How was your previous one with GD? Was she very big at birth? I think that's the main risk, isn't it?
Well, hope you have a great day (or night) whatever..

Thursday, 17 July mmmmm i love swedish fish!
no fair lol
i'm sure they'll let you know in the next day or two, good luck!
my mom also said that with GD they usually dont wait to see and let you go on into labor on your own bc the babies can grow really big, they either induce you or if regular delivery is too risky or the baby is too big they schedule a c section, so i think we have LESS time than 11 weeks!
*Baby-Mine* -
Thursday, 17 July yeah so am i!! so i've been trying REALLY hard to be good, so it took everything in me to not go out there and flip out! *Baby-Mine* -
Thursday, 17 July oh, and about the GD. he had me take the test the morning of my appt. so he'd have the results by the time i went in for my check up in the afternoon.
my numbers werent TOO high or out of range, but they were and so he said he wants to monitor them and try diet and excercise to see if thats enough to control it, if not i have to go on insulin, which i REALLY dont want to do...
he had a Diabetes nurse show me how to use the monitor to test my sugar, and she gave me a booklet on how to count carbs and some sample menus for a days meals.
its ALOT of info to take in at once, my head was practically spinning. but my mom said not to worry too much, just take it seriously and i can eat what i want just in smaller portions. She has Type 1 diabetes (i forget if that's the one. whichever diab. is insulin dependant, that's what she is so she deals w/it every day) after i talked to her i felt a lot better. i felt like EVERYTHING needed to be changed and i couldnt eat anything bc EVERYTHING raises your sugar, but she said its fine, eat what i want, just be realistic about portion sizes, and if something makes my sugar high, dont freak out, i know to correct it next time *Baby-Mine* -
Thursday, 17 July oh i already took the 3 hr yesterday. it came back that i have GD
freakin sucks.
but on the plus side, you're right, weeks almost over, and then its just us two again. we're both so excited!
so your HOUSE GUEST is gone right?? did you give him some cash and send him on his way in a taxi?? lol *Baby-Mine* -

Thursday, 17 July Hey Nat,
Happy to hear all is well--- I am falling on my face too---especially driving---that seems to be extremely difficult these days. How about you? I am thinking it may have something to do with the GD...
Good luck on the test...I will be thinking of you!
Hugs and Love,

Wednesday, 16 July Hey Nat,
I am so sorry to hear----I hope you pass the 3 hour test...otherwise you will be pricking your fingers 4x a day! (I begin that lovely adventure on Saturday when I get my offical diet...uggh)
I am registered at Babies R Us as well...figure thats the easiest and they have a great selection. Well I am headed for bed shortly...very tired these days.
Good luck on the test...let me know how it goes. I will pray for a passing number for you!
Huggs,
Lori Beth

Tuesday, 15 July lol, you're so funny. i still have an entire week with mine, but its fast approaching, so i too will be happy when me and DH leave california with just us two.
i know he's looking forward to it too!
really? that sucks, do you know what your number was? mine was 170, but idk what that means. no one has told me good or bad yet, but my appt is tomorrow so i guess we'll find out then judi -
Tuesday, 15 July Oh, sorry to hear about your glucose test
Good that it's been diagnosed, though, so you can adjust your diet and get meds if they're needed. When my premmies were in NICU I saw some babies of diabetic moms coming through there, and they can be HUGE!! Not fun to deliver and can have all sorts of health problems themselves because of you diabetes, so good to get it sorted now, while you've still got a couple of months!
I don't think there's anything you can do with the 3 hr test except take it, and take a book or something to occupy yourself for the 3 hours... Yeah, with having to avoid sugar and carbs, there really isn't much left to eat, hey! Turn into a rabbit and nibble carrots and lettuce!! That's bit gonna be very satisfying!! Everything is carbs... Guess they'll help you sort out a menu. I really don't envy you, though. Uggh! *Baby-Mine* -
Monday, 14 July me too!
so how are you surviving? isnt he leaving in a few days? judi -
Monday, 14 July Over here the long school holiday (which coincides with the new school year) is over Christmas/New Year. Then throughout the year they get 3 2-week vacations to break the year into 4 terms. This one is the mid-year (Winter) holiday. Then they'll get one in late September, then Christmas. The one early in the year usually coincides with Easter. It's actually a lot less confusing than the American system where the school year and the calendar year are different!!
Hope you get something more effective for that infection - it's important you get it cleared up, or it could cause pre-term labor and/or cause problems during the birth.
Fingers crossed for your glucose test!
