hi! my mistake sorry i was assuming it was BF cause of the frequency. I though bottle fed babies last longer! Are you sure he hasnt got wind pain! Some babies are really windy! Another thing to is try keeping tension on the bottle as baby is feeding to make them suck longer and harder, this makes them work harder for the milk and might help! Do you burp mid way through the bottle!! Or is it just not enough for him! Some bubbies are really hungry. Good luck if it becomes too much you should talk to dr or health nurse! to make sure he is getting enoough and not too much! hope it gets better for ya!! take care

My son was eating like that too. He will be 6 weeks tomorrow. I just started putting rice cereal in his bottles, I started with 1 1/2 teaspoons on the 1st night, 2 on the 2nd 3 on the 3rd and last night just a little over 3. Each night is getting better, between 3-4 hours between feedings...
BUT, THE NIGHT I USED BREASTMILK HE ONLY WENT 2-2 /12 HOURS, SO FORMULA KEEPS THEM FULLER TOO...
Good luck if you try it.

hi i am in the same boat! my daughter I swear eats 2 oz every hour to hour and a half and I can't get her to eat anymore! Now the one good thing is she is sleeping at night going from 8pm till 3am eats 2oz and then goes back to sleep till 6am. But I wish she would eat more at feedings! I feel like I am feeding her all the time! Let me know what you find out!

my son was the same, feeding every couple of hours and not taking a great dal at each feed. i read to help him go longer between feeds and to take more at each one, to offer sips of cooled boiled water after his first feed instead of more milk. this way he isn't miserable whilst trying to stretch the feed out until another hour or so, but isn't actually filling his tummy, so the next feed he takes a much larger amount and starts to settle into a pattern. worth a try, it worked for us.

Hi, i know how frustrated you must be!! My daughter was the same.. Are you BF i was and still am at 5 months! I use a dummy with my kids and at night if she wakes i will give that to her to see if she will go back off to sleep. During the day in the early months was difficult but i perservered, she will settle down and get a routine and certain times of the day! She may have belly pain which can be mistaken for hunger, i used drops after 4 weeks to make sure that this wasnt the problem... new babies very often only go 2 hours its common! At night wake her before you go to bed and give a good feed to try and make it stretch longer. Eventually they work it out Lilly sleeps through and is still breastfed! I have heard too that breast milk is digested in 90 minutes, not sure if its true but makes sense to me! They sometimes just want to feed for comfort too. Lilly still will go two hours in the day time, and want more... I just give it to her. Sometimes its just a good cuddle they want. another thing is have you got enough milk. It may seem that your babe wants more feeding in the afternoon/dinner time, and that they think there starving... This is cluster feeding and it is built in to the babies that feeding more at this time of the day from say 4 til 8 or so at night is to build up your supply for the next day, this also is the time your milk is at its fattiest, more filling for the baby, you should feed more and often at this time to ensure there getting the good filling stuff and that your supply is good for the next day! I know that is hard at that time of the day... But there only tiny babies and they will grow and fast, this phase is so so so short! It only feels long, and you will turn around and your baby isnt tiny anymore! I have had 4 kids to actually get me to where and how i am with my daughter... She could ask me to do anything for her and i would. I only wish i was like this with all my boys when they were babies!
