Fuzzi Bunz at Nurtured Family

March 13, 2008

Ok, so our first ultrasound appointment is this coming Monday, March 17th. I am sooooo EXCITED!! I can't wait to hear our baby's heartbeat again!! Hopefully, the baby will show off his/her goods because I want to know sooo bad!!! I'm hoping for a little girl, my boyfriend is on the fence about it, but whatever God chooses to bless us with is good for us! I am very in love with this little person inside me who we can't wait to meet! Stay tuned for an update on Monday....

Also, I would recommend two books: "The belly book" by Amy K is a pregnancy journal and I LOVE IT!! "The Guy's Guide to Pregnancy, Childbirth, and the 1st Year of Childhood" (I think I got the title right), by Michael Crider is the best gift to give to your partner!! It's funny and very real!!! My boyfriend gets a kick out of it, and I'm glad he enjoys it and feels included in the pregnancy!

colostrum is all they need until your milk comes in. the more the baby nurses the faster your milk comes in. if you plan on breastfeeding it is best to avoid the bottle :)

I feel you on your venting session. I listen some others I pretend that I am listening, cause I already know what I want to do for me and mine. When I first told family and friends they always asked so when is the wedding. My standard response became, I said I am having a baby not getting married. They have stop bringing it up finally.

Glad I'm not the only one defensive of my big beauty of a belly (BBB). Everyone says I should lighten up and take it in stride. I say F off. And it's not the hormones. It's that I get so worked up about how overanalytical women are of their bodies, and NOW, when we're just ALL of a SUDDEN supposed to be happy to look like this, they all think they can comment? I have stuck fingers in my ears and walked away from coworkers' "advice" and dumb questions (are you taking prenatals? No, I'm not, I thought it'd be fun to go against years of tried and true medical advice, but thanks for caring). When I get told I'm rude, I remind them that they started it... there's also quite a cultural rift as I work w/ all chinese women. I know they mean well, but come ON!

I Hear you with the labor questions! I'm having a pre-planned and scheduled C-Section and I have been asked the dumbest questions from my husband's family! They are like why not try natural child birth? You women have it so easy these days! I'm like so what! It's my baby and most importantly my body and then they shut it up :) Sorry for venting, but that is a sore subject with me too!

Hahahaha. I just saw your comment. I wanted to tell you that there is a shirt at Spencers. I think they have a web site. It says..... "Touch the Belly, loose a hand" You should pick that up. It stinks when people just touch your belly and tell you horror stories. If this is your 1st child i am sure you start to wonder if it really is so bad. Dont worry! Its not. Pain is of course part of the process but its really not "horror". I dont know where you stand on pain meds, but the epidural is AWSOME! I had it with my daughter, i had nothing but back labor and i was induced. All of witch i dont think was so bad. I look at it like its just part of the process and once the epidural kicks in your laughing, sleeping, and feeling great. I hope this helps and good luck no matter what road you take. If you choose to not take anything, you are strong enough for that as well. So dont let anyone scare you. Good luck!!!!!

chammel - Thursday, 3 April
Hey.. I just saw your post.... I have hairs on my belly too. They were never there before... its weird but just wanted to let you know that your not the only one...

donnamarie - Friday, 28 Mar
I would switch too! I hope you find a better doctor, for the safety of your child and yourself. Best of Luck.

tiredmommy - Friday, 28 Mar
OMG...I can't believe your dr.s office! That is horrible! I don't blame you at all for switching...I would too! I wish the best for you, and hope you can find a terrific dr w/o too much trouble!

ColeK - Friday, 28 Mar
I too recently switched doctors becuase they were not disclosing all information to me. Switching was the best thing I have ever done. It was a bit overwhelming looking for a new doc so far into the pregnancy, but well worth it in the end. My husband and I decided that we need to be as comfortable as possible with the person that is going to deliver our first child. Best of luck to you!! :)

xoxoprincess219 - Thursday, 27 Mar
Hey, the same thing happened to me with the prescription thing. Apparently I was prescribed medicine for a urinary tract infection but I was never notified I even HAD and infection. I switched doctors after this... and after my doctor was just rude to me in general and was hardly concerned about my privacy during a pap smear and insisted on having 3 students watch after I clearly said I was uncomfortable with it!

JoAnneMichelle - Thursday, 20 Mar
I have heard that you cant read i your dreams... something about that part of your brain being turned off. But I dont know if I belive it, cuz I swear I have read in my dreams before.

sammykp - Thursday, 20 Mar
hey girl how is your pregancy going just thought i would congratulate you, hope everything is going well x

tamian - Tuesday, 18 Mar
Depends on the hospital. Everyone is different. Your doc should be able to tell you though as he/she will have delivered there many many times.
Good luck.

fisheagle74 - Tuesday, 18 Mar
That depends on the hospital you are going to. Mine only allows up to 4 people in the delivary room. I could have more while I was in labor but not for the delivary.

2ndbabybump - Friday, 14 Mar
