bellydancer - Friday, 2 May
sorry for the delay Elise, it's been crazy! Anyway, I don't give cereal at such an early age though I know many do and say, "____ turned out just fine".
Howeve, some times there are effects people don't connect right away, like adult reflux is something not as prevelant in exclusively breastfed babies, food alergies, ulcers, etc.
The cereal "APEARS" to solve the problem but what happens is the baby can't digest cereal so well at such a young age so it sits in the belly longer making the baby "FEEL" full, but doing internal harm to the stomach lining which can go on to over produce acid as time goes by and never goes back to produce "regular" amounts of acid. The bobdy doesn't learn what a regular amount is.

All that said, your problem will pass, it's likely as growth spurt, PLUS you need to nurse longer just on ONE SIDE for the whole feeding. You Baby isn't getting enough "hind" milk which is the rich creamy milk stored in the back of the breast. It fills the Baby up longer and even though your thinking, "all this kid does is eat!!" It's just likely a combo of a growth spurt and the need for a longer feeding on one breast. You should only use one breast for the entire feeding, offer the other at the next feeding.
If that doesn't work, e-mail me privatley, I'm just not on here enough to keep up sometimes. themightyglenns@gmail.com

Hope that helps,
Ali
