Our C-section is scheduled on the 29th April.....not long till we meet our little man!

Hi I am a 34 year old SAHM of Talia (10) Eloise (7) and Matthew (3) and a step daughter Megan (6) who stays with my husband and I every second weekend.

If you're interested I have included my birth stories on each of my children's pages

WEEK 9 - 2 Oct 2007

This week I am feeling a little better, yesterday I had no morning sickness at all which was wonderful. Today I am feeling a bit yuk and tired.
I am finding the leg twitches at night hard when trying to fall asleep and I am so tired all the time as if someone has pulled a plug and all the energy has leaked out.
I have a rather large bump now, it looks like I am really pregnant..
..

WEEK 10- 9 Oct 2007

I have made it to week 10. I woke up feeling good. No morning sickness yet :) I still feel tired, as though I have had no sleep the night before and I am feeling drained. I have to get dressed today and do some food shopping. I have been putting it off as I have been feeling so yuk.

My tummy is getting bigger. I can feel my uterus when I am lying down and my tummy pops out when I stand up,there is no hiding that I am pregnant any more.

WEEK 11 - 16 Oct

Week 11 already. The morning sickness is going yay!. However every time I take my prenatal vitamins I feel sick so I cant win, I have forgotten to take them some days, this has me worried I hope it OK to miss some..
I am supposed to have my 12 week scan next tues to check for probability of Downes however they cant fit me in until Friday...I don't know if 3 days will make a difference on the result. I am going to ring around and see if another clinic can take me Tues.
Hubby and I are back to normal, I am finding it hard at the moment. All my other pregancy's I have done on my own, this is the first one with support. At the moment all he is dealing with is nausea, leg twitches and a very grumpy wife, I cant wait until the second trimester and he can start to enjoy it all too.

WEEk 12 - 23 October
Yay I have gotten to 12 weeks, the morning sickness has gone but I am still feeling drained. Especially in the afternoons. By the time Hubby comes home I am ready for bed. He has been good though. Tomorrow we go for our first trimester scan. I had my blood test last week, they take the results of that and the ultrasound and work out the chance of a downs syndrome baby...so fingers crossed that everything will be OK.

WEEK 12 ULTRASOUND
Yesterday the Hubby and I went for our 12 week ultrasound. It was such a relief to see the baby moving around and the heart beat sitting at a healthy 161 beats a min...we still have to wait a week for the results for the downs test but we will cross that bridge when and if we get to it...

WEEK 13 - 31/10/07
This week I am feeling a lot better, the morning sickness has gone and I am getting some energy back. Half the time I forget that i am pregnant. We got the results back from our test and thankfully I am classed as a low risk pregnancy, We have 1 in 6700 chance of having a baby with downs...which is great news.
I am starting to have vivid dreams, last night I had a dream that I have twin girls...I know there is only one....
I had a very bad head cold this week for about 4 days, I have'nt been that sick for a long time and It is so hard when you cant take anything...but I am feeling better today..

WEEK 14 - 5/11/07
Time is starting to fly. Not only and I feeling better I have more energy. My tummy is really starting to poke out and I am having to wear maternity clothing all the time now. However I found out yesterday that my sister was in a motorcycle accident and she has broken both her neck and back. She is recovering in hospital and is a mess. Hopefully she can make a full recovery. My prayers are with her.

WEEK 16 - 21/11/07

This week I am feeling good however I keep waking up at about 3 in the morning and not being able to get back to sleep until about 6am. By the time I have to get up I am feeling like a walking zombie.

I have felt the baby kick a few times and I cant wait until hubby and the kids are able to feel it as well. We are booked in for our anatomy scan on the 10th Dec when we will be able to find out the sex. I really dont mind what we have. I have 2 girls and a boy and my hubby has a girl. I know secretly he would love a son but if its a little princess he wont mind either.

Here is a photo of me taken this morning. 16 weeks 2 days

Week 19 ANATOMY SCAN 11 Dec 07

This monday hubby and I went and had our anatomy scan I was 18 w 6 days, everything went really well. I was relieved to find a very healthy baby. It was so nice to see everything working as it should and all the little fingers and toes. While the ultrasound person was measuring the femur I turned to my hubby and said "I know what we have" and then my suspicions were confirmed ....we are having a BOY....it was very obvious, we were lucky with the way he was lying. My husband even though we would have been happy with a girl is secretly chuffed with a son.
Everything else is going ok, I am finding that i am getting really tired and irritable very easy. Doesnt help that hubby really does not understand how tiring not only pregnancy is but running after 4 other kids. My 9yo has been wonderful, I cant wait until all the kids and hubby can feel our little man kick, he is moving so much now and it is great to feel.
Off to week 20 tomorrow :)

Week 22

I feel the little man move all the time now, he is even waking me up a night. I could do without the heartburn though. I don't get it during the day however it hit just before I go to bed...

I am going to my first midwives appoint on Thursday and I am going to talk to her about my delivery options after my last c-section. I really don't mind which way the delivery goes. My hubby's sister is visiting from South Africa from the 10th May so thats going to be a bit stressful. Just taking one day at a time at the moment and not thinking too much about the future.

WEEK 28

My goodness I have been so slack in updating this. Bubs and I are doing fine. I spoke to the OB about my chances of having another c-section after the last and the action plan is as follows.
1. Keep a close eye on bubs
2 Fasting glucose scan to check to diabetes
3. Size scan at 37 weeks to check the size of bubs, if he is over 4.5kg we will be having a c-section if he is under they will let me go through L&D but there still may be a risk of a c-section.

I have been for my glucose test and passed which is good, am a little low on iron so I am now taking a supplement.

How ever I know that this is another big baby, i can feel him. I am also measuring 4 cm larger with my fundal height, though this could also be due to the uterus being stretched from the previous large baby....

So thats whats happening...

Week 32 - March 10

I have been slack and have not updated for so long, my belly is getting HUGE, I feel like a beached whale and my temper is so short. I am ready for this baby to be born now. I am so tempted to say just cut me open so that it can all be over with...
I am having trouble sleeping at night due to the pain in my hips and lower back, getting out of bed 4 or 5 times a night is agony and then it takes me an hour or so for the pain to go so I can get back to sleep. I am surviving on about 3 hours of broken sleep at night and with no chance of sleep during the day I feel like a walking zombie.

On a brighter note I went and had my 32 week check up with the OB, my blood pressure is fine and my weight is ballooning :)... He did comment on the size of my belly saying that I look like a 36 weeker, and this all before he measured my fundus which is 38 cm....no wonder I look huge I am measuring full term. The baby has not engaged yet so I am still a while away.
He wants me to go for a size ultrasound before my 34 week check to check for the size of bubs and for the amount of fluid around him.....

So thats my news...I will post a photo of me at 30 weeks that my daughter took for me...

Week 34 - 25 march 2008

We went and had our scan yesterday and bubs is still a boy and doing fine. His heart beat is sitting at 136 bpm and he is weighing in at 2.6kg or 5lb 11oz, he is a little big - approx the size of 36 weeks but not overly big. This morning hubby and I went and saw the OB, I have lost a little weight which is ok, my blood pressure is perfect and we have booked our selves in for an elective c-section.....Unfortunalty when we are 38 weeks its fully booked so we will be delivering our baby boy at 39 weeks on the 29th April. If i go into labour before this we can decide then and there wether to proceed natural or still go with the ceaser....

I will post some pics from the ultrasound...

36 Weeks - 8 April 2008

The OB appoint this week went well. I had to do my strep B test and even though I am having a c-section they need to do it just in case my waters break before the 29th. I had a 5th year Med student in with us so I got an extra long exam. My fundus is measuring 39cm but they are not concerned as bubs is "normal" size and we was lying in his favorite position along my right side, which was really good for the med student to have a feel as you can feel his bum and shoulders. They felt for the head which is not engaged " floating" but this is not uncommon in subsequent pregnancy's, all my previous babies did'nt engage until labor.
I asked about my hip/back pain and was assured that this is normal and it may go after delivery or it might take longer, I can look at seeing a physio after. Thought I have been taking panadol before bed every night and seem to be sleeping better.
I also asked about getting my tubes done as this is the last baby for us. The OB said it was up to the surgeon and to speak to the consultant at my 38 weeks check. It all depends on how it all looks when the do the c-section, if not ideal I have to wait until 6 weeks after.
So all the medical stuff out the way I am feeling tired and grumpy. I cant wait until our little man is out . We are basically ready for his arrival. I have done all the washing all that needs doing is to put the seat in the car and put the bassinette in our room....
The count down has truly begun....

37 Weeks - 15th April

Time is ticking by and half of me wishes it was over and the other half knows how hard it is going to be when the little man is out. As I am writing this we only have 12 days till our c-section.
My belly feels huge but as of yet no stretch marks, but I am no where near as big when I was carrying Matthew so I guess the skin is not so stretched.
I got Talia to take a photo of me today, not that flattering but hey "I'M PREGNANT"
