i had went in for my weekly doctors appointment and was hooked up to the non stress test moniter. i had gained 5 lbs in one week, had protien in my urine and my blood pressure was really high. They immediatley sent me overto the hospital becuase they thaught that i had pre eclamosia. i got over to the hospital and they hooked me up to the monitor, took some blood and then i waited. this was around 12:00 am, by 5:00 they decided to induce me using the 'gel' i was not even dialeted. after putting in the gel, at 7:00 i was already at 3cm. At 9:00 i was at 6-7cm Then they decided to break my water. what a feeling that was. it was kind of a relief. felt like i lost 10 lbs already. up until then the pain was tolarable. i was planning on a natural birth. after they broke my water the pain was unbelievable. after 2 contractions i was begging for an epidural. It wasn;t as bad as i thought though. it was tough getting through they contractions when i had a huge needle in my back though, lol. Almost institly i felt relief. i was a new person. It was GREAT!i highly recommend it! so then we just waited... it took until 2:00 for me to be fully dialted and could push. I pushed for a little over an hour and at 3:10am he was born weighing 7lbs 7 onces 22 inches long!! his feet are 3 inches long themselfs!!hes huge, lol we named him Carter. i had to have an episotomy. a really bad one!!! ouch..... im still pretty sore but recovering. The muscles in my arms from pushing are unbelievably sore. i couldn;t even pick carter up the next day., thats how bad they hurt. We came home on friday and his jaundice levels were up so theyt sent us home with a 'billy blanket' that he has to keep on all the time until he gets better. the nurse was here today to check him and he had gotten a little worse. but hopefully he is gonna get better. i am breastfeeding but have to supplement with formula to try to help it. Oh and my boobs.......I never thought they could get soooooo big or hurt so bad, lol
